Bought my favorite cheesecake this afternoon; unfortunately, cheesecake was loaded with clumps of what seemed to be either cream cheese or butter I had to return it halfway eaten, clumps were getting larger making me want to gag . Sadly, won't be buying my favorite cheesecake for a while.

I placed my online order at 12:00pm for pick up at 8-8:30 they pushed my online order back an hour and a half. I arrived at the store no one called me at all they wait until I say I have arrived via the app for my online order to tell me they didn’t even start the order I will NEVER come here again. I called management and he says oh do you want to come tomorrow NO! I placed my order and drove 30 min to pick this order up. The manager or whoever I spoke to showed absolutely no regret and didn’t care after I explained this to him. The customer service here is horrible and as I said previously I will NEVER come here ever again.

Very impressed After years i couldn't ordered from the Deli.(My family can't eat pork )and when you asked to have them use a clean machine to cut the meat they get upset and question it.This morning i had a very positive expirience and recieved the service with a smile and no questions. I'm a little sad i don't know the gentelman's name with the glasses that helped me. Thank you ShopRite for having such proffetional employees

I was a customer of Passaic ShopRite today. I did an order for pick up and once I got home, I realized I didn’t have the aluminum trays I ordered. I called the store and was transferred to the home department and I spoke with a young lady with regards to it. She told me that she was going to check with Security just to make sure it was in his place or anything like that. She was gonna give me a call back. She called me back and she said that Security said that I took it and I got the item I relate to her that no I did not get the item. I went back out to my kitchen and the bag that I put everything in and did not get that item. The call dropped for some reason I called right back and I told her I walked out to my car and it’s not even in my car so I don’t have the item. She said Security said that I had it and I took it out the cart and put it in my car on the Security footage, so I asked her if I could come back and look at the security footage for myself because I do not have the item. She says that now she’s gonna call me back and double check with Security again I wait for her to call me back and she calls me back and tells me oh Security said that you left it in the cart so now I’m a little bit frustrated because I was told one thing and then when I asked to see the security footage myself because I know I do not have the item. I was told that they would call me back and check and then I was told a different story when they called me back. So I asked her if I could come back and get the item. She says no it’s not there anymore, but I’m wondering how she did all of this so quick she went and looked and she spoke with Security all in the matter of two minutes and then now she won’t allow me to come back so I could double check to make sure that I did leave it in that cart and basically blaming me and I will take accountability if it was proved that I did leave it there. I just think that this is poor customer service and it does not make me trust that store and I will not be revisiting it.

Very disorganized store no management looking over the store. Christmas day it was open. There was one line that was going around the store and no management or person in the store was telling people that there were other registers that were open so this was the first problem I asked an employee about it and he said that he wasn’t management but he worked there. The other issue is the second time I came by the store. Doors were closed at 4 PM when the store was supposed to close at five, there was a security Guard that was not allowing nobody to go in the store saying that there was too many lines. Well, the reason why there was too many lines is because no one was overlooking and helping the Customers to get to the correct Register earlier. If you’re going to advertise that the store is closed at 5 PM then the door should close at 5 PM not 4 PM very bad business

The prices here are higher than any other shop rite in the area. Feels like price gouging in a poor area where people may not have a lot of alternatives.

Their setup is so confusing compared to other ShopRite in New Jersey. The security guard was giving attitude to the shoppers who got confused with the store exit.

This has been my go to ShopRite for over a decade but I will start going to Wallington. The self checkout lanes continue to be closed (though they were open the weekend before Thanksgiving so they are functional). There are not enough registers open, especially express lanes. Takes to long for a small shopping. Reopen self checkout please!

I’ve been shopping at this ShopRite in Passaic for years, but last night (around 7 PM) I experienced something that completely changed the way I see this store.
As I walked in, one of the male employees — short, skinny, wearing a black mask, usually seen working the registers — started breathing loudly and exaggeratedly with every step I took, clearly imitating someone out of breath because of their size. When I turned around, he froze, stared at me like he got caught, and then walked off embarrassed. It was intentional, childish, and extremely disrespectful. I reported the incident to another employee, but she was dismissive and uninterested. She questioned whether he was even an employee, made excuses (“maybe he was cold”), and barely looked up from what she was doing. It felt like my complaint didn’t matter at all. What’s worse is that this is not the first time I’ve seen unprofessional behavior from employees here, and I’m starting to wonder what kind of screening or training is happening under the store manager, Mr. Guillermo. Because honestly, if this is the type of attitude employees feel comfortable showing in front of customers, something is wrong. I already told my friends and family not to shop here after this experience and they won’t because disrespect like this spreads fast through word-of-mouth. I’m not trying to get anyone fired, but what happened was hurtful, and if this employee behaves like this toward the wrong person, things could escalate. People react differently when they feel mocked or targeted, and the company should be aware of the risk they’re taking by allowing this type of behavior to continue. I left feeling humiliated, disappointed, and honestly shocked at how far the customer service here has fallen. Management needs to take this seriously.Nov 17, 2025 -
spent 15 mins shopping only to find self checkout is STILL closed and only 2 registers open with snaking lines that didn’t move. Didn’t have time to wait for so long let alone put everything back where I found it.

I can't speak for all the employees because many of them are very friendly but there are always exceptions like yesterday 9/14/25 the person that helped me was a young woman I don't remember her name well but she had a very rude attitude with me I asked her about a deal and she answered me badly then she started contradicting me on what I was saying in front of all the other customers that were there her attitude was very rude. Shop Rite has been my store since we moved to Clifton their products have been fresh and everything has been clean. but the new staff, the young people that are there now have no respect for their elders it's very sad to see that

The store offers very fresh products and excellent prices, great variety and quality, it's a shame that some employees do not provide good customer service, they are rude and despotic as happened to me today Saturday (August/09) when I wanted to pay at the register with my EBT card they told me they did not have a line and when I asked why, an employee named Rosa who seemed to be in charge of cashiers that shift it was 2 p.m., answered me in a rude tone without looking me in the face and reluctantly that it was not her fault and that I should look carefully before entering the store, in view of such bad service I left my purchase at the register and decided to go to Walmart, at least there the service is very good. The Manager Mr. Guillermo should know that because of employees like that you lose good customers.

My wic wouldn’t work for almost every single product and they wouldn’t take my food stamp card. Horrible customer service don’t go here if you use food stamps or Wic. So rude and rushing when nobody was waiting. Literally go to any other ShopRite

cant complain. the staff is helpful , that store is clean and well lit. the prices are their prices, but there's usually some good coupons. regular grocery store. management is cool too

I really like this store I can find all kind the products I like. My only disappointment is when you are finally at the register at the self checking and these unfriendly employees give you a nasty attitude every time the machine marks an issue and they give you assistance with a really bad costumer service. Their only job is help costumer with good manners and respect.

Let me just say it takes A LOT to come to ShopRite and leave a review, me and my mom were just there by self check out and this worker that’s named Maria .V was very rude and kept giving us attitude and talking under her breath because the machine kept needing the store log in. Very unprofessional she was getting frustrated that she had to walk to our checkout machine every time it needed an associate as if she doesn’t get paid to do so. She really needs to work on her people skills and should go home if she’s going through something and can’t handle simple everyday interactions with customers!!!

I went here yesterday to buy a birthday cake and they had 5 ladies there and not a single one of them spoke english and they were all talki g to each other in spanihs and laughing out loud while im standing right in front of them waiting to order a cake
As im getting ready to just leave 1 of them finally stops ignoring me and come up to me and starts speaking to me in spanish i kindly repeated to her 3 times that i dont speak spanish and it turns out non of the 5 ladies spoke english!
And ontop of that the lady gets upset at me and starts yelling at me the broken up word COLOR? COLOR?
Like its my fault for only speaking english!
Tonight 3/7/2025 at 9:55 i decided to call the manager and kindly explain the situation and told the manager that i dont want to get anyone in trouble but it would be nice if at least 1 person spoke english and if they were nicer to the people that didnt speak spanish and for 8 minutes and 19 seconds this manager (spanish lady with a heavy accent) wouldnt let it go that its my fault for not putting in a complaint right away and thats not what a customer is supposed to do and that i should have known better to not put in the complaint at the same time and now matter how many times i said i didnt want to complain and i still dont want to get anyone in trouble i just wanted to say it would be nice if at least 1 person spoke english she wouldnt let it go that its my fault for over 8 minutes!!
I guess my take/suggestion for all of this is if u dont speak english dont shop here because apparently your wrong if u only speak english in America..Mar 08, 2025 -
On February 12th, I ordered the week of Valentines Day some roses and pastries for my mom who lives in a senior citizen building in Clifton New Jersey. Order on line on there website is very easy. The links are easy to navigate and you can set the date and time frame you would like your order delivered. I had the pleasure speaking with a young man named Oscar who was making sure my order would arrived in a timely manner. His customer service skills were on point and he went out of his way to verify my order and to make sure all looked well before shipping to my moms senior citizen building. Kudos to Mr. Oscar!!! Thank you so much for caring!!! My mom received the flowers and it made her Valentines Day...MARIAE

This store never has enough registers open. Never! Additionally, the self-serve area may have 3 employees guarding it but only 4 of those registers open. Why? Not sure why this goes seemingly unaddressed. But it is annoying and needs to be addressed.

I placed an order through Xpress pick up because I am currently pregnant and it’s easier for me to grab and pay, when I was leaving, I noticed that one of the order was incorrect and I completely understand that mistake happens when I went back, the manager told me to go to customer service I told him the issue and I didn’t want to walk all over the store and all he kept saying was go to customer service. I went to customer service Sara was very helpful she went out of her way to fix the problem, but before that she even called him over and told him I needed a manager and his response was he was going to the break room. I told her he was the one that was unhelpful… you need to train your so called managers better. Again thanks to Sara for her great costumer service

Should get a 5-star if my shopping experience every time was as delightful as my last.
Sometimes the deli messes up. Sometimes don't have or discontinue a product (Inca food - Olluco).
Now doesn't carry Canada Dry Ginger Ale and Seltzer.
Other than that prices are great. Online shopping is working great for me.

It is a supermarket with many varieties of products for Latinos. Well clean and organized. The employees speak Spanish to assist Spanish speakers and are very friendly. You can get vegetables, meats, juices, dairy products, seafood, poultry, bakery, detergents, even medicine over the counter. Recommended!!!

Wanda from the deli was not only rude but to correct the situation she helped out in the end and this is what she does. I go to make my son a sandwich and this is how she packed my cheese which was obviously on purpose because I told her she was being rude.

Don’t come to this place! I admit that I didn’t see that I have to use the digital coupon to get a discount, but the way this manager handled this problem was not right. The way she treated me is not the way a customer should be treated, especially when it’s the manager. As a manager, she should have been more polite and more reasonable. Instead she gave me a attitude telling me that this is the last time I can come back to get the sale. Like bruh, what a “good manager”. Would u want to be treated like this? I’m sry to say, but she is not worth to be a manager... she needs more training

Very wonderful selection of seafood and fresh fish. I tried the Tilapia- which Shoprite staff were very kind to fry for me on site ( and they did it so well). The seasoning was done to perfection and the fish was tender, moist and delicious. You know I'll be back for more Shoprite. Good job guys!!

I shop at this ShopRite frequently, the produce section is very fresh and the store is well stocked all of the time. Plus, they also have a large floral section full of beautiful flowers. Also there’s plenty of parking too!

Clean store, usually very busy especially on weekends. Parking is ample. Pay lower sales tax because it's considered to be in an urban area. I do my weekly shopping there. Reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it could use a update.
