Purchased ej20 from them and car had other issues to sort out ended up starting for the first time 30 days after warranty and had rod knock. I seen reviews regarding rod knock on a lot of others and really regret this purchase. Waste of money and time. Contacted company just to be told to pound sand. Straight up stole my money.

Do not buy transmissions here. I purchased a transmission from them and installed it myself as I am a technician and swapped everything over like they said I had to. Transmission was failing, outboard bearing was junk and transmission was slipping. Got ahold of their warranty department and got a new one sent over, I figured it was just my luck. I installed the second transmission and swapped everything over again. Transmission shifts like glass, unless you have to get on it even a little. Then it takes the force of a thousand civics and smashes the clutch plates together. After installing two transmissions, 14 quarts of Idemitsu DW-1, I still don't have a reliable transmission, and I'm not doing the same thing again for the same results. These cars are pulled off the road before they're chopped out and parts shipped to us, and I think it has to do with their transmissions that are killing them. DO NOT BUY TRANSMISSIONS FROM HERE!!!

I would put zero stars but I can’t, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! They do not honor their warranty, when I bought my engine and installed it, the motor has low compression on cylinder 3 and burned smoke like crazy, tried calling about it but many times and everytime I called they said they never spoke to me before even if I called right back after they would hang up on me. This was in 2023 but still grinds my gears thinking about the $2,288 could have kept.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I received a junk engine, that came with bottom end knock. (Blown up). However, their website certifies a “start up warranty” meaning that the engine will start and run. Which it did, so this doesn’t fall under warranty. Which being fully aware of, I just hoped and figured they would have some respect for a paying customer and I would receive something in usable condition. Please do not waste your money on this company. Shop local, somewhere you can see the engine start and run. Take into account that there are little to none, 2,3, or 4 star reviews on this page. Nearly all 1, or 5 star. It just certifys that most if not all of their 5 star reviews are fake, and the 1 star reviews being actual customers. You will waste your money with this company.

Ordered a transmission from this company it wasn't the right transmission. I paid for it to be shipped to my shop. I contacted this company to return the transmission. They picked the transmission up charged me for shipping and a restock fee. Now I'm stuck paying over 700.00 for a transmission i don't have. They will now sell this transmission to someone else and make double the money. Bad business this is now way to treat a customer.

Do not order from this company. Please bite the bullet and order from your dealership, an autoparts store in town, or get a Rebuild or Reman. There is a high likelihood that they are scammers. Why? I e-mailed and called to cancel and refund an order for a transmission while the order status showed that it had been placed but not shipped. Email was sent the night of 2/13 since they were closed. I then called when they opened at 9AM EST on 2/14 The representative 'Michael' (I might not remember his name perfectly) quickly started speaking very fast and stressed-like, saying that they could not update me until the shipper had taken the transmission from them and taken it to their loading dock. Our last phone conversation ended with the rep full-on screaming at me over and over that they already shipped it. I don’t even know how they stay in business with this guy running the phones. They decided to charge me $336 which included getting the part back to them from where the shipper had currently had it plus a 20% "restocking" fee, and then they would refund the left over $848. Right, so a shipper comes to your warehouse to pick up a 200 lb transmission and you do not know this has happened until they get it to their spot? You don't send a quick e-mail or update the status on the app that you provided for me to track it? That is negligence and unprofessional. And the shadiest detail of all, that I cannot believe they wrote in an e-mail: After I repeatedly insisted they refund the full amount and NOT ship the order, they stated that since I am "not complying that they will just let the order be shipped instead" What kind of company says that after writing that they will refund a partial amount already? Based on what I have gathered, including the fact that when you do a street view of their location on Google Maps that it is in the middle of a warehouse where you can't see their business name at all, that the service rep started screaming at me very soon into our conversation and gave me excuses about the 'winter storm' and shipping protocol preventing them from telling me that the item had been shipped, and that the representative kept mentioning that they would 'let management' know about the issue while sounding like he was alone in a small room... ...I am extremely suspicious of this company and recommend that NO -one- order from them unless you can go to their shop IN PERSON and inspect the part yourself, with a trusted mechanic They also provided a tracking # for their shipper and when I checked the tracking # there was no such shipment that existed! This proof helped me win my dispute. Their e-mails and reviews also include poorly written English grammar, making them look more illegitimate. My experience suggests that they try to keep as much $$ as they can in these cases so that they still make a profit even though you as the buyer lose something. If they can play the system well enough, then they can get more or less $$ even as business with suspicious practices. The actions that occurred with my issue are consistent with a scam. PLEASE if you care for your car and want to keep it, find a way to pay the money for a quality that will last longer anyway. I know that transmissions are expensive, but don't be tempted by the low price tag like I was. EDIT: The business responded this review. This order was indeed from JDM Engine Zone in Clifton, NJ, and it was done in early 2024. I ended up receiving all my money back after disputing with my bank, because JDM tried to keep $336 so the purpose of this review is just to warn others and I have no need to communicate with the business anymore. Again people, reman, rebuild, or new.

Great place!! Engine was clean, I haven't got it in, but compression checks out. Only 2 broken sensors that cost me 30 bucks. Overall great place, highly recommend

If I could give them a 0 star review I would the engine I got from them had no compression when I tried to file a warranty claim they had me take a video of doing a compression test only to say the battery was weak ( as if that would raise the compression from 25 psi to 150psi) kinda a crappy feeling to put the engine in the car and go to start it and realize it’s a dud and they can’t file an extension on the 30 day warranty even though it is only 7 days after the 30 day warranty. If you are looking to spend $1000 on a boat anchor they have a vast selection of them

I purchased an H23 from them Nov 13th. I came in picked out a H23 and took it with me. My Mechanic wasn’t ready to start my car but I figured let me shop for the motor in the meantime. Unfortunately, my mechanic wasn’t able to get to my car until Dec 30th and worst part about it all was that I didn’t see the return policy which was a big mistake on my end. That being said, I finally filled out the claim to get an exchange providing pictures and videos. I received a response right away asking why it took so long to get motor checked out being that there is 30 day policy, I briefly explained the situation. I emailed multiple times and got a response after my fourth email, 21 days later. Honestly, I’m not a mechanic and had to wait for it to be checked when they finished with cars ahead of mine. I didn’t think I would be getting a hard time since I’m not asking for my money back, simply exchanging a messed up motor I received. Or even partial credit to purchase another, NOTHING. The engine came with completely muddy oil all over the oil pan, the head was all muddy, like oil was never changed in the motor. This review goes for the type of conditions I received this motor in, I guess I’ll take the loss on the motor since it’s past the “30 days”, and the loss on what the shop is charging me since they decided to respond to the claim 21 days later, while the car sits on a lift. In conclusion, I would never purchase a motor here again and would recommend that NOBODY does either.

I called and spoke with one of their representatives after finding their listing online and seeing that it was highly rated. I was told that I would be receiving a running EJ253 AVLS engine matching not only what I have in my car currently but also matching the picture listing on the website with no issues and 40-60k miles but would need to replace seals and swap over wiring and accessories. I received a very damaged engine that was not what was pictured on the web listing. The engine I received showed signs of oil consumption from the oil leaking out of the throttle body, the AVLS OSVs and complete timing set/cover destroyed due to mishandling, there was a significant amount of coolant burned onto the top of the cylinder block and heads, the lower half of the motor was haphazardly painted black (likely to hide any severe corrosion), and both the intake manifold and ignition systems (including valve covers) were a completely different design than what is compatible with my vehicle, let alone not matching the description or pictures on the website listing. I attempted to return the engine due to these issues and was told I needed to perform a full engine rebuild and install it in my vehicle FIRST to verify if the engine was internally damaged. Unacceptable. I was charged for shipping twice and I was also charged a 20% restocking fee because they claimed I "didn't like the way the engine looked", leaving me missing $1000. I communicated to multiple individuals over the phone and over email regarding this issue and not only did no one provide so much as a name, but they refused to stand behind their service or product and just deflected to an incorrect reason for my return. This has been an awful and deceitful shopping experience and I will never recommend JDM Engine Zone to anyone ever.

I ordered a transmission for my 01 honda Accord, order #12592, and had it installed, and the 2nd and 3rd gears are not working properly. I filled out a warranty claim last week and still haven't heard back from them. Meanwhile, the repair shop needs to move forward with my car and will have to come out of pocket even more. I do not recommend them because they are not making customers whole when I didn't receive a proper operational transmission.

I have used these guys 2 times now in the past few months for an EJ20x for my Legacy. I have nothing buy good things to say about them. They had what I needed. Had fair prices and no issues with the visits. I'll be happy to make the 1:40min drive again in the future for anything I need. Thanks guys.

Great prices in New Jersey, low mileage motors and transmissions great people, transmission is practically brand new under 60,000 miles, and trust me I looked in every junkyard in north south Nj and Pennsylvania and on Facebook marketplace, and these guys had the cheapest price with the best mileage unbelievable. Check them out

Ended up buying a g37x motor through the people at jdm engine zone. Motor has been in the car for about 1000 miles now, no issues with the engine. I would definitely recommend replacing gaskets and covers just to be safe in the long run, and also doing a thorough inspection on the block itself with a compression test, and a oil analysis to see if there are any metal fragments in the oil pan or block itself. As well as looking into the block with a borescope. I was hesitant on the reviews myself but if you know what to look for you should be able to tell if the engine is in good shape. I was also able to negotiate the price a bit as well. Car also came with a few add ons that ended up replacing parts on the car such as the power steering pump and alternator. I recommend the depot especially over the Belleville location if you’re looking for a jdm motor.

Honestly idk where to begin for almost a month now I was battling with them trying to get a warranty I called them and they were just straight up nasty to me so i decided well if the people that you are gonna call are nasty then i am going to email them I tried to explain that the motor they gave me had leaks all over and there is a knock already I didn’t even put 100 miles on the motor I bought and it is already shot like what I’m going to show some pictures of the leaks they say it’s not covered under warranty but leaks can lead to knock and guess what a knock in the motor should be covered under warranty if I didn’t put more the 100 miles on the damn thing but they waited me out until my warranty ran out these guys don’t give a shit about us they only care about the money and when u try and get something that isn’t already broken. They did nothing to help only threw the warranty card around like bro your motor pisses oil every where that is an issue it also has a knock like how can u sell that motor to someone?

JDM is great though I suggest going in person maybe you’ll find a better engine and or transmission for your vehicle. I bought a defective transmission and had no issues with customer service or with anybody for a refund of said part. So far the engine is good hopefully I have no issues. The driver is a good guy very helpful.

Sold me a knocking engine on start up (piston slap) and don’t want to warranty the engine. Engine showed up 3 teeth out of time told me I had to have it installed anyways even though it’s an interference engine. Also engine has an oil cooler that hooks to nothing indicating stuff has been swapped off and or over and this engine was not pulled out of a running car or tested as advertised. I Paid to have it installed to be able to file the warranty if there was an issue and it’s knocking they said it sounds healthy!!!! even tho it’s knocking!!!! buyer beware! Had to file a PayPal claim in hopes of getting a refund and them to pick this junk up. Had it diagnosed and installed at a subaru dealership!! And they are trying to say the engine is good even though it was diagnosed as bad at the subaru dealer. BUYER BEWARE! I got my refund from PayPal but I had to pay to return the engine because they would not pay return shipping. This company is 10000% a scam.

This is a great place to buy engines. The guys are very friendly. They allowed me plenty of time to choose my engine. Jordan is one of the best salesmen in the industry. The delivery guys are also great. Thank you for making my first engine buying experience smooth and easy.

Bought engine in October went out right after 90 days so spoke with Eldon was able to give me 150 off the next if ordered from him so I accepted. Engine arrives immediately noticed engine easily has over amount the miles what was told prob over 150 to 200k miles so pulled water pump from my engine to other engine just to find permatex that meets the block eroded away so would leak water or oil and water , water in spark plug wells ,egr completely clogged with carbon for engine of 60k , dirty a$& engine not acceptable…. I paid 1700 for what I thought was a good engine and it was not so all I wanted was a good engine since I’m out of about 9000 pulling and put in new from prior engine also bought from them so ask if could just send me a new one was told no and would be charged 2 way shipping and 20% restocking fee for the engine that I got from them that hasn’t even left the damn pallet so I paid 1694 for a engine got the wrong amount from 20% and 2 way shipping and was offered 425$ back which is wrong calculation so emailed back it should be 460 so been 10 days later asking where money was they said already sent out and a generic picture back said was paid and a correction pay … needless to say paid 1694 twice to only get back 460 dollars and still no engine to go in my car poor business save your money don’t make same mistake as I did please read there other reviews there a lot the same as mine …2 engines 3388$ to only get back 460$ CRAZINESS!!!! Don’t Buy!!!! Look at pictures you think that motor has less than 60 k no way no how !!!…. Go to sort by on reviews and read the lowest ones and see if you don’t fall in same category as others and me ….sad business never in my life seen a worse one !!!

Paid a decent penny to get a motor for my car as this place was recommended by a couple people. This is how I got it, spilled oil all over the tractor trailer truck because an oil line wasn’t put on correctly nor fluid shouldn’t have been in it to begin with. Whoever took it out was careless with it. Stuff is cut wrong, broken, ripped up, every wire was just cut off, even the electrical wires so I have to replace all of that, was not worth spending the money here.

Well i purchased this transmission and yes shipping took forever. It came with 120 warranty from delivery. As someone on a fixed income i had to save for the labor. So it is out of their warranty. Just for the dealership to find the casing is busted. I tried to proceed with making a warranty claim just asking for a replacement even prorated. No response. No one answers the phones. So i had purchase another transmission and elsewhere. After i left this review they responded via email stating that i never called, i sent them the screen shot of my call log. They said at the time the calls were made they were closed. However, theyre an hour ahead of me so they were open. Then proceeded to ask me why i purchased the transmission if i didnt have the money at the time to install it and asked why i didnt look at the transmission at delivery. Which i did look at the exposed side but i didnt want to remove it from the pallet for future transportation needs as well as risking damaging it. After the review and the purchase of a new transmission from another source they then agreed to sale me a discounted transmission…. Too little to late. It was my fault for expecting a functioning product that i paid good money for. Oh and then they tried to say the hole is “cosmetic”. The reviews on here and BBB are real. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and got burned….. so if your in the mood to gamble, the odds are against you.

I previously left a review of JDM Engine Zone about 10 month from today's date 4/14/2022. However the review only explained my experience up to that point involving JDM Engine Zone and there has been even more dealings involving the same order since then. In short, JDM Engine Zone is by far the worst business I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. If you want the full story you'll have to find the review posted under the name "David Bryan" and read through it. Unfortunately my experience with JDM Engine Zone took over 6 months to resolve and only ever got resolved due to RL Carriers getting involved and going above and beyond. My small automotive repair business received a bad engine from JDM Engine Zone (I'll attach pictures that are pretty self explanatory) and had to have it returned and warrantied. This process alone cost both my business and my customer thousands of dollars in both cash and lost time. I was assured by JDM Engine Zone that they would cover the cost of return freight and that I would be issued a refund for the original purchase. After the engine was returned and received by JDM Engine Zone it took a week to get JDM Engine Zone to answer my calls regarding my warranty. I had to call multiple times a day, email them multiple times a day, report them to the Better Business Bureau, and eventually call from a different number to even get them to answer my call. After the refund was finally issued I then received a bill from RL Carrier for the return freight. JDM Engine Zone had told me multiple times that they would cover this cost however my business received the bill. After multiple attempts to make contact with JDM Engine Zone a third different phone number was required to get them to pick up the phone. I was told the bill was purely for my records and that JDM Engine Zone would pay the bill. However I cross referenced this with RL Carrier's directly and was told that a bill hadn't even been issued to JDM Engine Zone. I was then informed that JDM Engine Zone had listed my business as the financially responsible party. This is the point in time I left my last review. Thankfully after explaining my experience to RL Carriers they decided to take my case, and fight this battle for me. It took more than 6 months, multiple phone calls to both JDM Engine Zone as well as RL Carriers, and my business nearly being sent to collections. I received several more bills and statements from RL Carriers stating that JDM Engine Zone was listing me as financially responsible for the freight charge. However, in the end, RL Carriers won out and got the bill paid by the responsible party; JDM Engine Zone. Again I implore you, please do not do business with JDM Engine Zone. All told my experience cost my business thousands of dollars in lost time, and labor. It cost my customer thousands of dollars in wasted parts, and nearly cost them the loss of the entire car. The cost incurred by RL Carriers is unimaginable in both man hours and productivity. Finally, just so JDM Engine Zone cant deny my case ever happened, my order number was 3477. The engine was a Nissan VG33E, and the order was placed on 4/15/2021. My experiences were real and could definitely happen to you.

Ordered a Subaru EJ 253 boxer engine that was suppose to be a Japanese low mileage (45 to 65K) engine. Delayed shipping and when it was received it looks like an ebay resell to me that was in a head on collision take out, most likely USA wreaked, rusty and all seals leaking. Hope my good friend at Insane Power, Las Vegas can maybe make something of this mess. Tried calling just rang on, caller ID, yup. Very disappointed, and they will be getting a letter from the family law firm. Wish I would have looked a little harder at the reviews, and don't confuse JDM Engine Zone with JDM World. Adding pictures of the engine as I had to disassemble for machine work. Case has salt air corrosion and picture of the case half after tank cleaning. Looks better after grit blasting. Number 1 cylinder had a burnt valve, #3 connect rod bearing was spun and when #4 spark plug was removed the iridium center electrode was missing and top of piston is peppered damaged. Rear main seal is leaking, remember this engine was suppose to less than 60,000 miles.
