Great place to stop for anything outdoors. I have enjoyed walking the dog with endless trails and beautiful views. The whole place seems well kept and heavily monitored as Ranger training is in the area. I saw some NJDEP folks pulling litter from the wetlands.
Beautiful site with an abundance of wildlife and greenery.only problem...what else? People or rather the litter these mooks leave behind in their wake. Please be responsible.
Great place in Pine Barrens to enjoy hiking and year-round greenery. Its main transport arteries are quite trafficked though since there are shooting ranges in the midst, it’s also quite popular with fishermen. No restroom amenities of any kind since it is WMA, there are multiple parking areas though. Today I have hiked loop segment of NJ State Long trail, it is quite beautiful especially the section along Turnmill Pond. The fly in ointment were close shooting sounds from range right next to the trail.
This spot is a great place to visit if you enjoy driving down dirt roads and anything outdoors. There’s a ton of land to it and I find it very relaxing to be there. There’s a few lakes to go to fishing at or enjoy the view and hangout. There’s also a few hiking trails to go on as well. If you decide to drive further enough you’ll also find a nice little spot with a dam and it always has a perfect view of the sunset. Overall if you are in the central Jersey area I would highly recommend stopping by here and taking it all in.
Always go here on our spare time! Whole family enjoys it! My toddler gets to play in the sand and run around as us adults enjoy the awesome views, and the dogs get to run around and play to get some energy out too! We even will get lunch and/or breakfast some times and go here just to eat and relax and get out of the house for a little while. Very clean and quite! Also a great fishing spot to show our toddler all the ways of the outdoors!
Good fishing for pickerel. Some good bank fishing. Needs a good clean up, many folks leaving garbage behind. My son pictured with a couple from today.
We caught many more of varying sizes. Go to bait would be minnows, I highly recommend using with a bobber so the minnows can swim freely.
drove an hour to find its closed down. right at the start of the season... you have to drive a mile in fron the main road to get to it. youd think theyd have at least paper signs saying the range is closed as you pull in but nope... stafford forge i saw closed also. just ridiculous to shut down at the prime time of the year. they did the same at Flat Brook last year.
Nice secluded wildlife management area. Fishing, hunting, etc. Good for photography, or a walk. Nice place to get outside without the crowding at local parks.
Drive through for now due to the virus. Experience was fine for what it is. Before the virus you rode on a safari truck and you can smell the experience.
It's a beautiful place - several lakes, lots of pinelands, some open field areas. There's several great areas for fishing, and plenty of trails for trail bikes. Folks should be aware that all but the beginning of the entry road are dirt/sand, and High Bridge Road can be swampy in parts when it's been wet for a while.
Great hunting and fishing. Apparently there are timber rattle snakes during summer and spring and the ponds have thick mud at the bottom and can be dangerous when walking with waders.
I love fishing there, listening law enforcement practice at the range and play on the trails in my truck. Although I almost got shot there last year I still keep going back.
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL AREA IN THE NJ PINE BARRENS. THE ONLY FISH I HAVE CAUGHT IS PIKE. WHAT A FIGHT IT WAS FOR ME, BUT SO MUCH FUN. (I'VE GONE HERE DURING 40+ YEARS OF MY LIFE.) GREAT TO WALK THE TRAILS, OR CANOE/BOAT THE WATER AREAS. THIS IS A CLEAN, SAFE AND NATURE FILLED PLACE TO ADVENTURE! NO AGE LIMIT!
13,000 acres of state land with several different lakes for fishing and boating,public archery and firearm range for .22s,muzzleloaders, and shotguns,great hunting ,just avoid going there during six day or opening day of pheasant season,great place to cruise around in the truck,just don't drive off the designated road and don't ride your quad or dirt bike through there because the game wardens have quads too,and impound fees are expensive
Very quiet relaxing place to visit great for photography fishing. Also take into account that sometimes there are Hunters out there so be mindful and respectful of the environment and others that are out there.
Actually camped in or near this area. Can't say for sure about it. Don't want to rate it low because the area was lush thick forest. So go check it out!
