Misinfo-peddling AI chatbot is the first point of contact. It tried to tell me it was a human before lying about their business hours and inventory. I got fed up and called, and to his credit the person I spoke to apologized for the confusion and seemed interested in helping. He even offered, completely unprompted, to text me a list of available cars similar to the one I wanted, the one the AI chatbot told me was still there. The next morning, this list has not been sent and the AI chatbot is back, asking me what I thought about it. I get annoyed now, being at work, checking my texts, email, and app for this nonexistent list, and call the business again. The call is sent to voicemail and I get a text with a dead website link and a promise to call back that was never followed through on. Waste of my time.

We walked into Carland Auto in Lakewood on Saturday afternoon not knowing what to expect. We drove 40 minutes and were greeted by Max. He wasn't pushy, let us drive any car we asked about and let us check the cars out. Even when we weren't sure if we were ready to buy, they didn't push us into anything. We made a decision on a great car for our daughter and are thoroughly happy with the process of buying from this dealer.

We came to Carland after being turned away from all the places we went due to some credit issues. We shopped the lot and I found a cute Volkswagen Golf. I didnt want to get my hopes up after the other places couldn't or wouldn't work with me. Max at Carland was so welcoming and really went to work for us. He offered us a deal and we accepted. I recently bought a car here and overall had a great experience after shopping around many places in New Jersey. I came in after seeing they had a vehicle I was interested in listed on CarFax. Initially was pleased to buy a car from them. They offered a warranty but was about 200$ a month extra, so didn’t get it. ON THE DRIVE HOME from the dealership the check engine light and traction control light came on. So I took it to my mechanic and yea… they cleared the codes before letting me test drive. They had to clear the codes bc it’s a P0420 which is an issue with the catalytic converter and wouldn’t pass inspection. Would not recommend this place.

My son just turned 17 and got his license. We had been searching for his first car and had multiple near misses where a Jeep Cherokee that he was interested in sold before we arrived or we couldn't get straight answers on specific questions. That changed when we called Carland Auto. Mo and his staff let me come in, offered to pull it into the garage and have the technician show us anything we had questions on (brake pads, engine, etc.). Promised to hold the car for us until my son could come look at it, and made sure it was detailed and everything was all set. Their fees were reasonable, there were no hidden costs and the entire process was easy and non-pushy. Mo definitely puts his customers first and he's true to his word. My son is now happily driving around in his first car! I'd definitely recommend Carland Auto.
