My experience was phenomenal. My pickup was scheduled within a couple of days, and the tow truck driver was professional, careful, and quick, and provided me with my initial pickup receipt. Kars for Kids emailed me all the paperwork I needed for my tax donation. The entire process could not have gone smoother.
To start off I am not much of a car guy.
I had my daughter’s Nissan at the house. She lives in the city and no longer needed it so I ran it by a mechanic. They said all good EXCEPT the transmission will likely fail sometime within the next year or two. It ran fine, but I didn’t have the heart to screw someone with a $6k repair for a car worth $2700.
One day it ran really poorly out of nowhere. I assumed it was the trans.
Called Recycle and got a quote of $450 over the phone as long as it had the original??? Catalytic converter. Original?
The driver showed up, nice guy. He too said $450. When prepping the car to tow. He wacked one of the back tires with a hammer and corrected what I thought was the trans going, it obviously was not the trans.
He pulls his phone out and climbs under the side of the car. Says the catalytic converter was not original. $450 dropped to $200!!
Like how am I supposed to debate that? It was obvious I knew little about cars, so whatever he said was going right over my head.
So yes, I guess the cc could have been replaced at some point, but like ‘why’. My daughter had the car 8 years, the car was 14 years old, so why would the cc need to be replaced in the first 6 years of the car’s life.
So all said and done the car is out of my driveway, but there is the thought that the cc thing is standard operating procedure when picking up a car from the uninformed. Aka me.
Would I use Recycke again? Yes. I’d do my homework first. Super nice tow guy.
If I have another car that needs to be junked I will used Modern Day Recycling again. They picked up my junk car within 24 hours after I reached out to them. I dealt with AJ who was super professional and nice. He made sure I received a follow up text to confirm my appointment. The driver was on site at the exact ETA that he provided. Modern Day made donating and picking up the car so easy! Just filled out the form, picked my pickup window, handed over the keys and waved goodbye to the car. Everyone I spoke to was wonderful and the tow truck driver was a sweetheart.(I wish I knew his name so he could get recognition!)

This is a recycling company so of course I called them when my neighbors threatened to get my vehicle towed. unfortunately I didn’t get what I want for it or even close to what I put into it to get it running again, but the price was fair enough and they always give you an accurate quote at the best price you’ll get. no haggling necessary and they come with a pre-written check and are quick! My time was scheduled for 7-10 am and they were on the phone with me at 7 to hash out the details for pickup and here and gone within the hour. If you have to get rid of a vehicle, and want top dollar give these guys a call
Great company, I have em a call when they opened at 7, truck got there and was done before 9:30 and took under 20 min from when they pulled up till they took off. Truck driver was super nice and knew what he was doing. Had the car on the truck and my check in my hands in no time. Great deal aswell, best i could find.

Prior to contacting Modern Day, I had called another well known company, I took the day off from work and they never showed, they scheduled 2 more times and never came or called. I called Modern Day on a Tuesday they scheduled pick up on Thursday between 7 and 10 am, they called Thursday morning advised the next call would be from the driver, which is exactly what happened. The driver called introduced himself and gave me the estimated arrival time of one hour. He arrived in 50 minutes, helped remove my plates and had a business issued check already typed out to me. On top of that I still made it to work by 9am.
I would recommend them to anyone, it was a great experience, very professional.

The whole process was smooth. Everyone was nice. The tow truck driver was well prepared and out of the five places I called to compare prices, modern day was the same as two others, But I chose them because everyone I talked to on the phone was really nice and being nice to people goes a really long way. it opens doors & builds relationships.

I called today needing a tow for my car that needed to be scrapped and the lady on the phone was so amazing. She was so patient and so kind which meant so much to me because I get a lot of anxiety speaking on the phone. She made the process so easy and they were able to fit me in the same day! The driver of the tow was so nice and helpful (I wish I knew his name) but It was my first time scrapping my car by myself and was nervous but he explained everything to me and helped me take my plates off. He showed and helped me with everything I needed. I was really sad about letting go of my car but these two workers gave me such a sense of relief with the fast and easy process. They really made my night with their kindness and all their help. Modern day recycling also scrapped my first car, a 2007 blue ford focus in 2021. I will always choose them!! They’re the best around and have such a good team. don’t hesitate to call them if you need to scrap!!
They did a wonderful job with keeping in touch of when they were going to pick up my vehicle and they kept their word about giving me the amount they said. All and all it was a great experience from beginning to end. I appreciated the help of getting the one plate off that I had trouble with. I would def use them again and let others know to use them in the future.
