This place is great. The owner is always there and super nice, the butcher always says hi, and the cashiers are friendly. One time the young man at the register offered to bring an elderly woman’s groceries to her car. And they always have what I’m looking for with good prices.
The store reminds me of shopping with my grandmother at another, now closed location. The variety was as good as others supermarket chains. The store was well kept and the staff was friendly. They even had some items not found in other chains.
We have been shopping here for years and years. Perfect for last minute stuff and everyone’s always friendly. Farmingdale wouldn’t be complete without it!
It is a glorified convenience store. Items are overpriced, limited stock and smaller sizes. Okay for a quick stop, but would not do my regular shopping there.
I’ve never been to a super market with such a sweet and kind staff! Make sure to stop by their deli. Today I got the sweet and sour chicken with rice at the deli and it was delicious.
The place is overpriced, dirty,rude employees ...since last post:::::April 2nd tried to call the deli to order a sub sandwich and hung up on 3 times in a row. On the 4th call someone in deli answered and from the start extremely RUDE as if I was asking them to do there job ??? 4 years and not a thing changed... here's a idea if you don't like your job than QUIT
UPDATE::8/13/23. This place has not changed one bit I think the owners shop at Sam's wholesale marks it 4 times the price and resells it and oh yeah the additude is still there and the aisles were not faced and fronted missing item's raw meat in a aisle told the cashier it was like we were bothering them
The store when you walk in your greeted by name. John and Mary Ann are so nice. Staff is so friendly and helpful. That alone made me a customer when I moved to the area before pandemic. Great selection of products. Great fresh bread and rolls. Kept my family safe through pandemic they always had everything I needed. They appreciate your business and give back to community also. Love this store and little town
I buy a lot of carrots. They always have the green giant brand which are thinner and tastier. Also the La Dolce brand bakery products are out of this world. The meats are so amazing and lots of choices for a great meal. I really enjoy shopping at this store.
I love this grocery store. They have everything you need plus the employees are amazing. A great deli counter and large fresh meat section. A large parking lot. The prices are very reasonable.
This store always confuses me because it has a FoodTown kind of feel. If you're born and raised from NJ, you know exactly what FoodTown is. It's a great option for a quick stop to pick up last-minute options for dinner or something you forgot from your shipping list. However, they can be pricey, so it's best to check their coupon or sales mailing for deals.
I love this store. And I love how cozy it feels shopping in there. I always feel like there is a sense of community, like it is part of the fabric of the Farmingdale area. Reminds me of food shopping in Vermont. Somehow this store always has exactly what I need, they even surprise me with the selection they have. My son is vegan and I always find new and interesting things there to create new dishes for my him. Shop n Bag is always my first choice for food shopping local. I love not having to drive all the way out to the hustle and bustle of route 9 to the big box stores. We are so lucky to have this little gem so close to us.
Efficiently compartmentalized every inch of the store for maximum stocking, props for that quite impressive. Only 2 points which would call for renovation 1 the aisles are too narrow. And 2 the freezer section could use an expansion. Wonderful store, this opinion isn't a knock at anyone just an idea.
Wonderfully convenient, small sized, supermarket that is consistently well stocked, managed and staffed. It is reminiscent of grocery shopping before humongous, super-sized, chain store, conglomerates consumed us. Here, you don't need a scooter to go from one end of the store to the other.
You may not find Chocopologie by Knipschildt or Yubari Melons but if you want a variety of good ol' fruits, vegetables, breads, meats, dairy, frozen food and any of the other items on your shopping list, you'll find it here and at good prices..
They have a friendly staff and convenient parking too.
I had purchased a bag of onions on Monday went to use Tuesday and they were rotten. I had a chance to go back Thursday with them and was told they do not take returns. I understand with Covid going on. The young lady at the register had spoken to I guess the man in charge and he told me no also. Most supermarkets would have said take another bag. Very poor management!!! I would never again cross that doorway!!!
This store is always well kept. The produce is always fresh. The meats are in my opinion way better than stop and shop & ShopRite. They carry Bell and Evans chicken. The staff is polite
Since Pathmark closed I have been traveling from Brick to this store. I like that it is small yet big enough, available parking and free shopping carts. No BS. Just local and homespun real. Thanks
Was in the store at 8 today (Sunday). Besides being out of Stewart's Diet Root beer, a regular irritation, the meat section had not 1 Pkg. of hamburger patties. NOT ONE! I spoke to the butcher who said they ran out ...now, how the hell do you run out of hamburgers??? Not a single package? Disgraceful...
Quaint little store in farmingdale. Love this little spot. The staff is always kind, and they are really helpful. The meat is always extremely fresh and always looks amazing. The veggies and fruits are extremely fresh. I love little spots like this. It’s convenient for me so of course I’ll be back
Great hometown grocery. Friendly staff. Clean. Fresh produce and meats. Nice to see a small business with so much pride. For those considering farm to table or locally grown, this is your place.

What a classic family ran business. Being a family business it is shocking how cheap the prices are of products and how the lunch menu is in the deli department. However the biggest and best items this little gem has most of the cashiers and employees know you by your name. I like the big box stores no crowds will be pushing you away or hindering your lovely peaceful experience shopping at this wonderful grocery store.
