This was our first time here and we will definitely become frequent visitors. The food was amazing. We had the short rib disco fries and they were delicious and left me desiring another round. I had the fish and chips which includes two beautiful cod fillets and they were plump, crispy and extremely fresh. The chips or fires were a little soggy but not a deal breaker. My wife had a burger that she loved.

This historic spot is a local gem with a fantastic vibe! If you’re a beer lover, you’ll be impressed by the ever-changing craft selection, they have a great variety on draught, from hazy IPAs like Conclave’s Hop Fix to unique local brews. Just a heads-up that it gets incredibly busy during the evening hours, so try to arrive early if you don’t want a wait. My only critique is that the vegetarian options are fairly limited compared to the meat-heavy menu, though the salads and appetizers are solid. Definitely a must-visit for the atmosphere and the drinks!

Cute place, ample parking, menu is a good size. Good drink menu, offers beer flights, great bar area. Burger selection is diverse, lots of different types and specialties.

The mini tacos were amazing and I could easily enjoy a whole plate of them. The Deviled egg was fantastic, the burgers never disappoint, and the margaritas were outstanding. It is great to see everything feeling just as good as it did in the early days. A truly satisfying visit.

Another great dinner with my wife! Rocky Hill Inn did not disappoint as one of the best burger places in NJ. Both burgers had fresh ingredients and a nice char. Cooked to a perfect medium. No real complaints, maybe a little crispier bacon and the bun was a little mushy. Overall score was 9/10 for me. My wife has great taste, said it was a little on the blander side, she got the Royale Burger and I got the Pub Burger. Fries were generously portioned and very yummy. French onion soup was great starter, would definitely recommend. Pro Tip: Reservations are made only on the phone, have to call before hand. I walked in on 5 o’clock on Saturday and waited 40 mins for a table. Also service was very quick and polite!

IWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! I’ve been in the service business s1963. In Princeton since 1971. I’m still working in the same business! My friend and I went for lunch today at the RHI… I was served a VERY inedible salmon burger. I didn’t complain about it at that time. I really don’t like making scenes! The waitress/bartender asked if I needed a box to take home. I said “ no thank you”. My friend actually spoke up and politely told her it was to dry. He did try it and totally agreed! That’s when I reminded her that I had asked for the sauce on the side but of course it was on the burger. She blamed the kitchen and took it away. It remained on the check . There was absolutely no apology! We paid the check and left! An hour or so later I decided to call and speak to the manger. When the “ manager” finally picked up. I began to let her know what happened and when she realized there was an issue , she interrupted me asked if I said anything about it when I was there. I decided it wouldn’t be worth it. We paid the price, tipped, and left. I was unable to get a word because she just kept interrupting me in a raised voice and hung up the phone!!! I have no idea what she thought I was expecting. I called back immediately in hopes of speaking to someone who cares about how the employees are handling an issue. Instead…the same person answered the phone. She evidently recognized my number and answered screaming threats to call the police All I wanted to say is because of the way they handled the situation I wouldn’t be back!!! And I hung up and decided to write a review. I’ve said for decades that the best way to judge any business is see how a problem is handled! They earned an F- !!!

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the porch along with our dog. The waitress was extremely friendly and brought the dog bacon cheese and water! The food was delicious and we were not rushed at all. They are known for their burgers but we all ordered the pot pies and were very happy with them.

Excellent service(waiter was Brandon according to the receipt) and we were a complicated/ loud group that arrived at different times. He did an excellent job of checking on the table and keeping up with the orders during our time there tonight. Food was decent, portions were fine, nice presentation. I didn't need a full dinner, so I just had the Steak Disco Fries appetizer. St. Lavender drink was very good!

The food was great! The beer was great! The service was great! The place could use a slight sprucing up. I would still go back.

We ate at this eatery again today, this time for lunch. There were plenty of empty seats in the restaurant. They served us food quite quickly. We ordered bbq wings, pan seared salmon and shepherds pie . Everything was great! All the dishes were delicious. The salmon was just the way I wanted it, very tender and crispy on the outside. The staff was very friendly.

I’ve been wanting to come here for sometime and finally got the chance. This place dates back to the 1700’s. It’s part of an historic village. At the main entrance there are two stairs and a ramp for anyone who is handicapped. The entrance is a bit tricky from the parking lot. You have to walk all the around to the front entrance or you wind up walking through one of the dining areas and bar to get to the hostess like we did. We chose to come early we didn’t have a reservation but we were seated immediately by a lovely hostess. ( I suggest making a reservation.) Our waiter came over and he was very friendly and pleasant. He took our drink order and gave us time to look over their menu. They have a nice selection of Signature Cocktails, IPA’s and Draft Beers and Wines. It was cold out so I decided to start with a bowl of their French Onion Soup, and it was delicious. My soup was loaded with two kinds of cheeses with a rich broth with a piece of toasted baguette topped with those cheeses. To go along with my soup I ordered their Lamb Sliders- 4 sliders with tzatziki, red onion jam, and arugula. My sliders were cooked perfectly, and that red onion jam was so good. My boyfriend started with their Deviled Eggs- pickled red onion, cucumber, green olives. They were creamy and delicious. For Entree he chose their Braised Lamb Shank Shepherd’s Pie.It had chunks of lamb creamed spinach, and topped with mashed potatoes.( This is not your typical shepherd’s pie.) It was served in a personalized cast iron pan. My bf enjoyed and said it was rich and filling. My daughter chose their Fun Guy Burger with Fries-Wild mushrooms, gruyere cheese, arugula and truffled aioli. She really enjoyed her burger it was cooked perfectly med-rare. We were full and didn’t order dessert. The decor is simple and classic, with several small dining areas. From the looks of things it’s very popular, it was 5 pm and packed. Rocky Hill Inn Tavern offers something for everyone. I look forward to returning.

Possibly the best burger in NJ... Trust a fat guy I've had burgers from all over the state. This historic spot has a ton of charm with a warm friendly environment with great service. Our bartender helped us make a selection from the abundant selection of craft and local beers. I had heard a lot about their burgers and the rumors are true. This place rivals the best in the state. And a damn tasty espresso martini for dessert.

I pass this place on my commute and have always wanted to stop in because of the vibe it gives. I’m a glad I did! My family and I stopped by on a random Tuesday night and had a phenomenal dinner. The atmosphere was great, the food was fantastic. Our server nailed every recommendation and basically picked my entire dinner experience for me. One of the best burgers ever. I can’t wait to go back.

Amazing!! The spicy burger and date appetizer were delicious. I also highly recommend the jalapeño margarita. Everything tasted so fresh and was made with care. The hosts were kind of rude but our server was attentive and had amazing recommendations. We will definitely be coming back

We love Rocky Hill Inn! One of our favorite go-to places for good food! The atmosphere brings you back in time and the food some of the best burgers and deluxe fries I've ever had!

Greatly disappointed. Ordered the Rocky Hill Burger with fries. The burger was tender and juicy but completely bland, flame broiled taste??? The bacon was soggy not even half way crispy and the onions, ooohhhh the onions, got a big piece of onion skin, yes onion skin, the layer you usually throw away. lol. The fries, why!!!!!! The fries were dark brown and tasted like they looked, over cooked. The atmosphere was awesome. I was really looking forward to having a great burger at a highly recommended food establishment. Hope the other choices on the menu are better. Will give it a second chance.

Was expecting something special, but instead received slow service, 45 minutes to receive the food which looked good but failed. A rare burger came out well done, with soggy fries. I did appreciate that they were fresh and not a frozen product. Sent the burger back and the new one was mealy and unseasoned. French onion soup was thin and lacked flavor. Grilled salmon was dry and under seasoned. The dining room was loud! This place has been on my want to go list for years. Very disappointing. It's only fair to say that that had an interesting beer list and the visit was on Sunday 5/26

Old house charm. Food was very good. Pasta was overcooked in the Italian wedding soup. Brussel sprouts were very good and so was the Cobb salad. Bread pudding on the less sweet side, and loved it. They were out of fried green tomatoes Service was excellent. It was courteous and quick. The patio seats were very good.

Went here to drink beers with a friend. Glassware across the board was a crime scene. Unbelievably dirty. The restaurant needs to consider completely overhauling their washing procedures. The draft system or kegs had issues with carbonation. Some beers were completely flat and others the bartender was pulling straight foam. If it's an issue with the kegs, they should have been returned to the breweries. If it's breakout in the lines from an issue with the draft system then it should be investigated. Negatives aside, the tap list itself was top tier. I would come here again just based on the excellent and diverse selection of beers. As well the bartender was friendly and the service was excellent.

If you like an old historic and warmth feel, then this is the place for you. The building is from the 1700s and has been converted into a bar and restaurant while still maintaining much of its history. This was our first time here, and we tried the new item, the bougie burger, which was a burger made from elk meat it was so tender and juicy. The staff were very making sure our water was always topped up. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to support a local business that is family-friendly and inviting.

We had a large group in for a birthday party, party of 12. Our server, Bridget, was very knowledgeable and friendly, prompt with answers to our questions. I had the Spicy @ss burger listed on the menu. The burger was very tasty and I had it with a side of French fries. We had appetizers for the entire table, loaded fries, meatballs, and nachos. All were very good. Empty plates and glasses were cleared regularly. This was my first time here and enjoyed the experience, I would recommend this restaurant if driving by and looking for somewhere to eat.

One of our favorite places!! We travel about an hour to get here. We did stop coming for a while over this past year because, even though we loved the food, the staff seemed to be very… distracted. We went beck tonight to celebrate my husband’s birthday and I’m SO glad we did!! Noticed a change in (some) servers and it was amazing. The little tacos are the BEST - I could literally eat a dozen. Fried green tomato app was awesome, burgers are always great and the margaritas are the best!! We are really glad that things have gone back to how they originally were. We always bring friends here and it’s our go to for all special meals. I can’t wait to dive into my leftovers tomorrow lol

Definitely lives up to the hype. While away on business I was looking for somwhere to have a nice meal. I saw this place was about 20 minutes away and had lots of consistently great reviews. I decided to give it a try. I arrived at about 7:15 on a Wednesday night and parking lot was completely full. Luckily there is some street parking along the main road and I was able to grab a spot. I went in and was immediately able to get a table (solo). The place was surpisingly full for a Wednesday night. Almost all tables and most of the bar seats were occupied. This was a good sign that this place was good. The server brought over water and a menu. There were so many interesting options...but I decided to get a beer, the rocky hill burger and the venison chili. My beer was out in a few minutes and burger and chili (requested to be brought out together). The venison chili was good and just enough for a starter. The burger was amazing...cooked perfectly with fresh ingredients to compliment the beef...included a great bun. Prices were reasonable...my burger, chili and draught beer totaled $35. The space itself is nice. Lots of cool decor all around. All staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. I would love to return when I am nearby again to try some more things.

Delicious gastro pub just outside Princeton. The disco fries are NUTS! So good. We got the short rib, and I can't wait to try pork belly. Burger was pretty good; beers always great. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

The food here is classic pub style fare with a menu with a large selection. Well known for their disco fries and featured on Guy Fiery's Diners, Drives and Dives. This place is no dive though. Their desserts are made in house as is many of their main entrees. I particularly loved their salmon burger which was incredibly fresh and hearty. The onion rings were a bit too fried and heavy on the oil but could have been just a poor batch. Service is very friendly, prompt and food arrives hot. Recommend dining here I'd you're in the area.

Excellent food and friendly service One of the best fried pickles I've ever had along with a solid Bloody Mary with blue cheese stuffed olives! Burger was excellent as well Steak salad was well prepared and would pass on the chicken meatballs

One of the best dinners I've had in a long time! We had the Disco Fries first, both the pork belly and the beef ones. The beef was my favorite but the pork belly was amazing as well. I had stop eating them so I wouldn't be too full for our meal. I had the steak with blue cheese and bacon mashed potatoes. I was full half way through but I made room to finish, it was that good. The wait wasn't bad considering it was mother's day. They were very busy but you wouldn't have known by how attentive our waitress was. She never once looked flustered or stressed although she was constantly running around between tables. She never lost her smile that I could see. Will definitely be back!
