Jose installed my new Diehard Gold battery in my 2014 Subaru Forester. He cleaned the battery terminals before installing, something I was concerned about since I’d never had the battery installed there before.

I needed to get a bulb for my Jetta, so I went to Advance Auto Parts like I usually do. Joe helped me find the right part, but neither of us noticed that the package was already open. I paid for it, went out to the parking lot to replace it, and then realized the package had been opened. I went back inside to see what could be done since I know their policy, but Joe didn’t seem to know how to handle the situation and didn’t offer any possible solutions. As the GM, he should know how to manage situations like this instead of taking it personally. I’m not saying “don’t shop at Advance Auto Parts,” but I definitely won’t be taking my business there again. Joe, I wasn’t trying to take anything from you—I just wanted to see if I had any options. You really need to work on your people skills.

Don't buy things with a guarantee because they don't work and then they don't want to give you your money back. I bought a steering pump and it didn't work and I had to lose the money

I had a fantastic experience at this store last Friday! I was in the area for a job, it was a foggy & misty morning on the way to work. The visibility in my car was bad. I definitely needed new wipers, and I needed to get them on my lunch break before heading home. I came in the store and realised there are more wipers in the universe than I knew existed, haha. That's when Joe the manager came by to help me. He looked up my model, got me the correct blades, and even offered to install them. I was so relieved and happy with this whole experience, which took all of 15 minutes from the time I entered the store until I was driving away. I wish more shopkeepers would have the knowledge and helpfulness that Joe has !

Such a great asset in our area! The GM Joe was so kind and informative, helping swiftly and expertly to replace my battery in this awful cold, all the while with a smile on his face. And he taught me some important tips that I'll gladly pass on to friends and family...things my mechanics over the years have not come close to explaining!! Will be a repeat customer for sure. Jose and the team at Advance Auto Parts in Dunellen NJ provided phenomenal customer service during a recent visit for a new 12V battery for my hybrid car. Jose came outside with me, on a super cold day by the way, to remove my old battery and then attached his personal portable battery so that the door locks would function while we were inside the store. 3 separate employees searched their inventory, the AAP website, and online for a replacement battery. The only battery that would work for my car had the positive and negative terminals reversed. Jose took it outside to see if we could make it work, but was concerned that the positive terminal would be too exposed and an accident involving that part of the car could cause a fire. We were back to square one. The AAP team figured out that my car requires a special battery that only the dealer carries. Jose charged my old battery in the store so I could make the trip to buy a battery from somewhere else! Unfortunately, that didn't work and my car would not start. Jose then went above and beyond by lending me, a complete stranger, his portable battery! When I came back to return it a little while later, Jose installed my new battery at no charge! Again, it was freezing cold outside and I didn't even buy the battery there! I really appreciated Jose's knowledge, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. Thanks again, Jose! You are amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back for any future parts needs. Highly recommend!

Staff was incredible. They helped me quickly and explained everything. The guy at the desk immediately came out and checked my battery and was extremely knowledgeable. Jose was hands down absolutely phenomenal!! He helped me with my battery issue for my car and was so incredibly kind. Jose changed out my battery flawlessly and went above and beyond!! I highly recommend this location as the best!! Jose thank you!!

Buyers be aware in this stores when you ask for parts they offer only the expensive ones. Not even mentioning the economic ones. Forcing you to expend extra money. Remember you have the right to ask what other parts are available.

The gentleman here helped me find the right wiper blades for my car right away, and we even had a great conversation reminiscing about the cartoons we used to watch growing up. Great business, stellar employees and plenty of took to park unlike a lot of auto part shops I have been to. 👍

It’s very rare nowadays where you go into an auto parts store and the people who work there know exactly what you’re looking for and help you understand the product your purchasing. Krystal was so helpful and informative , the store was organized and clean, overall a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back here again and highly recommend it to anybody in the are or close by

I've been to this location on a few occasions for both our cars and motorcycle. On each visit the store was found orderly, stocked, and the staff helpful. On a recent visit a few days ago I was seeking to buy and replace a car battery. Crystal H was so incredible helpful with choosing the battery to ensure I didn't get the wrong one, assisting me with getting the battery home (without a car), and ensuring that I received the credit for later returning the old battery. Pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient, and helpful. Thank you Crystal H and Dunellen's Advance Auto Parts.

Been here 3 times for as long as they've been opened and all 3 times the customer service was terrible AAP in Piscataway greets you every time you walk in and the customer service is outstanding #1 The White guy with the glasses who works day shift refused to help me stating that he was alone and told me to come back later in the afternoon when there were more people. Afterwards I browsed for the 10 minutes while he was doing absolutely nothing. #2 I came back a few days later and the young Hispanic girl gave me attitude for no reason then reluctantly helped me while rolling her eyes #3 The female behind the counter helped a man who walked away to look for an item then helped the woman in front of me without hesitation. My turn came she said i had to wait because she's still attending another person. stood there watching her do nothing for over 5 minutes. I will not be going back to this store this was the 3rd and final strike These are the ones who will be replaced by robots first Good riddance

To anyones who’s interested in shopping at this establishment. DO NOT GO!!!! As a women , I had a terrible experience. The manager Joseph (white male , late 40’s, glasses) saw when I entered the store and didn’t make any effort to help me. Instead he continued to unbox his shipment. It’s not until I asked if anyone was here to help me he said” coming”. Then I asked if he could help me with my key battery. He said “he doesn’t do that here”. I replied “you don’t sell batteries ?? Or you can’t install it?? He then says” we sell them but I don’t know what battery you would need, you would have to look it up “. I left the establishment frustrated, my car wouldn’t start , he was aware of the issue but didn’t care. I proceeded to buy a battery because it was 26 degrees outside and I refused to wait in the cold for a tow truck. I went inside and purchased a battery against my will or else my car wasn’t moving. When I approached the register again, I picked out the battery and put it on the counter. I asked to speak to a manager and he said it was him. I then stated, as a manager , you dealt with my situation poorly. He basically gave me no assistance, no information and made reference to me being idiotic . He stated” If you came here and said your break lights broke , I would tell you I can’t fix it “. I said “AS A MANAGER, with a degree in management, you should’ve let me know there’s a policy stating you can’t touch anyones keys because it’s a liability issue. But here’s how I can assist you. How you responded to me was disrespectful. Why is that? Is it because I’m a girl?” He didn’t respond to what I said which was a CLEAR representation of this company and how they view there female customers. He only handed me my receipt. No goodbye or anything. So again, don’t go here if you don’t have to. But if you must , especially as a female, DO NOT go there alone and or just be very confident in what you’re saying. Because if HE , Joseph the manager, is present he will be disrespectful to you and dismiss you immediately.

My car’s battery was failing which required multiple jump starts. I went to this store and purchased a new DieHard Platinum battery for over$200. The very next day my car would not start. Because I had a brand new battery AAA logically concluded something else must be wrong with my car. It was towed to a garage. The mechanic concluded the “new” battery was faulty. He replaced the battery with a good one and the car is now working just fine. I took the “new” battery back to the store and they refused to refund my money. But they tested it and concluded that it was faulty. They told me they can only give me a new replacement battery. I spoke to the manager Joe who had sold me the battery and explain to him that I had to pay for towing and a mechanic. He told me that I should’ve come back to the store and they would have given me a new DieHard battery. I explain to him that I had no car to drive anywhere and was essentially stranded I also expressed to him that I really had no desire to purchase a new second battery after my initial experience. All Joe kept saying was “ this is our policy “. Well it’s a bad business policy and I’ll never go back to this store.!! I advise you stay away as well.

Bought a part from this store, their website said the part was an exact fit for my vehicle after I put in all the correct vehicle specs. The part did not fit my vehicle. They refused to accept a return and would not give me my money back. The employee was extremely rude and confrontational about it too. Would never recommend anyone ever go here.

Alternator lasted for about 3 weeks. Ended up buying an OE. The inconvenience and time wasted 😞 Return policy could be better. Customer service just doing there jobs.

If possible would give 0 stars. Bought a Die Hard Gold battery 1month and a half and battery has a 3 year exchange warranty. I bought battery back because it never worked I thought it was alternator went to my mechanic he said batter was dead. I bought back battery they wouldn't even exchange. My old battery you gave back 25 bucks worked better than the new one you dumped on me. Never will I spend another dime in Advanced Auto

If possible I wouldn't give a single star. i have been with your store for the past 2 years and i had a serious problem today and this store did not help me they denied a responsibility not even accepting returns . I bought a set of brakes for my car here when I installed them today it didn't work I went to get help and return the item the staff here won't accept me to return it because I put it on the car i tried to explain to him how if i don't put it on the car how would i know it's not working lol he disclaims responsibility and is of no help to the customer i recommend don't come here they have pretty bad customer service ffffff

Went for windshield wipers. Asked the counter guy who said they're over there, I then asked could they be installed... No we're busy.. nobody was in the store. So I walked out saying..you have a good day. Ended up in AutoZone, friendlier, efficient, and cheaper.

Ordered rain guards for Rogue 2018 sport. They ordered for a REGULAR Rogue... NOT only was I inconvenienced because I had to wait from SATURDAY until the end of the day on MONDAY to take them back... But THEN had to pay additional money for SPECIAL ORDER when I was told when I 1st ordered the rain guards that they WERE special order... DONE... Will NEVER shop here AGAIN....

This is my go to spot for auto parts fluids etc.Usually very friendly and helpful, on rare occasions there’s a little wait but that’s to be expected, great customer service.I would recommend calling before coming and that can make your experience better than mine.

Manager was rude when I asked to have my daughter's battery installed after purchasing it, she told me they had other customers to wait on 1st. Not what I'd call customer centric. I'll never go there as long as she works there.

It is what it is. Deducted a point only because the guy there gave me a wrong battery for my ATV. tried using it but no good. It was a waste of $50. Of course, little did I know how much the ACTUAL battery costs: $130 - Even tho it was Smaller! Oh well. Live & Learn I suppose. Anyway, this place is cool.
