First off, my shopping experience in BJS has always been great. I always find everything I need. However, I had a little issue at self checkout. One, the workers are in a corner speaking to eachother without acknowledging the customers. When I ask for help one of the guys comes with an attitude and makes gestures. When I’m speaking to him he’s literally walking away from me WHILE IM SPEAKING. Right when I’m speaking he stops me and asks “you already paid?” And directly sends me to customer service. And he goes right back to speaking in the corner. Honestly, if there are going to put workers in self checkout they should put people that are actually whilling to help the customers. This happened 12/06, at 4:30pm.

I am extremely disgusted by the behavior of the receipt checker at the exit of this BJ's location o round 12:45 PM on Thurs, Dec. 4th, 2025. The employee, who was short with glasses, displayed a truly horrible and unprofessional attitude during the required check. He flagged me to move my cart forward with his hands waving hard for no reason. His interaction was rude and lacked basic customer courtesy. This individual is clearly unsuited for a customer-facing roles and should be placed behind the scenes where he does not interact with patrons. Due to this severely negative experience, I will not be returning to this store. Management must address this issue immediately.

Honestly the only thing making me return to this bjs is the tire bay, Greg has been a major help multiple times and has always gone above and beyond for me, of course I could get better prices from my mechanic buddy but Greg has always found a solution and genuinely just gives great customer service and it’s made me want to keep returning for any problem I have wether it’s new tires or just simply patching holes in tires. He’s also given me great recommendations and insight into what I should do to fix my car and make it run better.

Horrible Bjs ordered online a few times always got the wrong address never got my items. Had to call numerous time to resolve this and yet they still never corrected the address had anyone else had a problem from this Bj's

I wish I could give less than one star. The cashier had to call the supervisor because she needed a code and the supervisor comes over and does not know what to do and does not speak English. she kept asking if we speak Spanish so she can explain why we had to go to Customer Service. How can a supervisor be unable to communicate with customers? We go to customer service and there is no one there. So after we ask for help from another employee, a manager strolls by and tells the customer service rep is on lunch and will not be back for 20 minutes so either we wait or come back. The manger does not help and says he can not help and gets defensive when we tell him that is poor management. He is the manager he should know what to do and help customers. He should also have proper coverage for the customer service area. Very poor management and communications at the North Bergen BJs wholesale. Tally the robot is more help than the actual employees at the store. Amazing how poor the service is in the store. They only had 1 cashier open too.

Store is decently clean, often you will find lots of empty boxes blocking the front entrance, selection is decent but I definitely don’t recommend shopping at this location if you want to be treated decently. Beware that the location hours stated are not honored, as I came well before closing just to find the door closed and a lady come and refuse to open the door for me as “ the store is closed” I guess the staff at this location figures they can close the hours they choose. 10/16/25

The problem with BJ’s is that when things run out it takes weeks to replenish. Also, when you’re paying at the self checkout there are no scanners. They were removed so if it’s something big you have to wait for someone.

I stopped by on September 10, 2025, around 8:30 p.m. to get some snacks. The store was nice and clean, and most of the employees were friendly, except for the lady at the front door checking receipts. I said, "thank you," but she didn't reply, which I thought was very rude. My shopping experience would have been much better if she had greeted me and said "thank you" instead of looking so unhappy.

This place is very nice it has everything here and very easy to shop ! Not like Walmart or Costco I do not like feeling stressed out shopping in those places At Bj its just much less stressful!!

I’ve always given 5 star reviews until this week. My delivery order never arrived. I called Roadie, the delivery service they use. Roadie told me my order was delivered to the wrong address and I would be hearing from someone within minutes. It’s been over 24 hours. I called Roadie again and they said I would have to call the BJ’s store for a refund. I get put on hold every time I call, and never connect with anyone. So disappointed. $149 down the drain.

I went here after Walmart to buy some things I need… the store was empty and It took a little while for me to find what I need after I finished paying for my items the line to leave the store was long since it was only 1 person checking everyone receipts. But other than that the store is good!

Worse customer service experience ever, I placed an online orderp, when i went to pick it up at my scheduled time they said machine was broken and my order was not ready, 10 minutes after leaving the club I got an email saying my order was ready to pick up. After my complain.

Bad experience and bad customer service,
I was going to buy there for the First time
In my life and was horrible experience, I try to get one day pass (as they offer online) and see if is worth it to get membership, After waited 10 minutes in line for Customer service, A lady with glasses came and with rude attitude told us that there is not a such a thing as one day pass and if I wanted to purchase something it will be 20% extra in my purchase , I asked her about the $15 membership offer they have at the moment and she act like didn't know what I was talking about, seems like she just wanted to get rid of us, She also asked me if I had SSN or ITIN to apply for a BJs Card, what a terrible behavior, So seems like they don't appreciate our business, we just turned around and went to Walmart to do our $200 shopping like every week.Nov 10, 2024 -
After doing a comparison of Costco and BJ's, I found BJ's offers a superior shopping experience. The store is cleaner, brighter and better stocked than the typical Costco. I also love that they actually have mirrors in the clothing dept so you can try things on. Costco does not! Oh and no freezing cold rooms to step into for your produce and dairy needs. Everything is right out on the floor like a normal supermarket. After experiencing BJ's, I'll never set foot in a Costco again!!

This store has experienced a noticeable decline in both product quality and customer service over the years. There appears to be a lack of attention to maintaining standards, and customer service has significantly deteriorated. Many of the items no longer meet acceptable quality levels, and there is a concerning lack of engagement from employees, who often display an attitude of indifference. Instances of double-charging customers have been reported, with the resolution process being unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. I was transferred from one person to the next over the phone.Overall, the operation reflects poorly on the store’s professionalism.

Good selection - it's more like a wholesale grocery store. However, buyer beware. Just because you can buy it in bulk doesn't necessarily mean it's cheaper. I've compared many prices for similar goods and other retailers beat their prices by far - especially when purchasing beverages. All in all I like it's a pretty good place to shop.

Fantastic store! It was my first time here coming to buy my membership, the lady at the front desk was very friendly and processed the membership cards in a timely fashion.
I took a walk around the store and it wasn’t too crowded, very well stocked. I look forward to shopping here againApr 28, 2024 -
The cashiers are very friendly and the lady at the door taking your receipt was very sweet as well. She was an older Spanish lady. My grocery pick up had damaged items. The guy did say I could go get new ones. Also there is a guy outside asking for money in exchange to helping you put your groceries in your car which I don’t think it’s safe or affiliated with BJs. Especially as a female who shops alone.

I've never given a 1-star rating to a Google app before, but I'm giving one here. They said they close at 7, but when I arrived at 6:51, they hurriedly closed the door and wouldn't let me in. Even though it was 9 minutes before closing, they refused to open the door just for me to buy water.

It appears that there was an oversight in my recent purchase, as I neglected to verify the contents before finalizing the transaction. Upon inspection, I discovered that the Nespresso machine I acquired was missing the complimentary coffee pods included as part of the promotional offer. This incident underscores the importance of diligent quality control measures. In the future, I will ensure to thoroughly inspect products prior to purchase to prevent such occurrences. Meanwhile, I intend to reach out to the appropriate channels to address this matter and seek resolution without necessitating a return trip.

Nice store . New member and no problems so far except MAJORITY of employees on the phone . Not paying attention . Lady at register, I’m waiting for my receipt and she’s shopping on her phone as I’m waiting . Like helloooo I need to go. Lady at the exit , same thing on the phone even speaker . No customer service whatsoever. They don’t say thank you or smile. 3 stars for store . Minus 2 stars for the employees.

I am so disappointed. I got my items today that I have placed to be delivered. My items was damaged. The liquid was broken and was all over the other product that was food. The edible and any liquid (not food) should have packed separately due to this situations. And it should have been seal in a bag before place in a the box. When I called, they were rude and hang up on me. If I can give NO STAR I would. I wish they were more considerate about customers. I paid for these items n shipping fee. By the way did I mention, I paid for a full bottle but received less of it and my noddle smell like clean laundry.

I'm a former Ridgefield resident, so this was my go to spot along with the Wal-Mart, which is in the same shopping center. There are certain items that are staples in our home that I will only get from Bjs, like the items in the pics. They are worth the cost for the bulk size. I will only buy items that are for a reasonable price. Not every bulk/big item in the store is for a reasonable price. Not every item in the store has a wholesale price.

Great shopping selection. Most shopping carts are broken and disgusting. Will continue to shop because of the friendly customer service but they need to clean up.
