Extremely unprofessional and overpriced. This company was used for a police-ordered tow after an accident and I was charged $465 for less than 24 hours of towing and storage. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges, the staff were rude and dismissive instead of transparent. Based on my experience and the number of similar reviews, this seems to be a pattern of overcharging people who have no choice but to use their service. I will be filing a complaint with NJ Consumer Affairs. I do not recommend this company.

If I could leave NO stars I would! I had a pretty frustrating experience with this tow truck company. Their service was unprofessional and took forever, and I honestly felt like they basically stole my money. I agreed on a price in-person, but when I showed up the next day, an older lady demanded way more than we agreed on and wouldn’t give me my car until I paid up. That bait-and-switch move seemed shady and probably even illegal.
The company was totally opaque and didn’t seem to care about fair business practices, which made me feel pretty helpless and taken advantage of something a lot of folks have probably dealt with in shady towing scams. Reputable businesses should give clear prices upfront and keep their word, but this company used pressure tactics and refused to give me a written invoice when I asked. That’s a huge red flag.
On top of that, the staff was rude and dismissive when I tried to sort things out. The whole mess was stressful and ended up costing me more than I wanted. Trust is a big deal when it comes to any service, and once that trust is broken by dishonesty or bad treatment, it’s almost impossible to fix.
I’d honestly tell anyone thinking about using this company to steer clear. If you care about your time, money, and peace of mind, look for another towing service.Jan 22, 2026 -
The service I received was extremely disappointing. Communication was poor, and interactions felt dismissive rather than helpful. What should have been a straightforward process became unnecessarily stressful due to attitude and lack of professionalism.
Basic questions were not handled with patience or clarity. Instead of providing explanations or assistance, responses felt defensive and uncooperative, which only added to the frustration.
Overall, the experience showed a lack of respect for customers and very little accountability. There was no effort to improve the situation or provide proper support.
Based on how this was handled, I would not recommend this service. If you have other options, it’s best to use them.Jan 21, 2026 -
The lady at the front desk with glasses assumed I didn’t speak English and came out to the front announcing that everyone waiting at the front desk is “jodiendo” which means we were being annoying. This is after I asked to speak to the manager because THEY decided to be closed on Christmas Day and charge me an extra 2 days after towing my car. Even though I tried to pick it up they still charged me for the day they decided to take off . It was very unprofessional of her to speak about people while right in front of them when we had a right to be upset.

Notice how quickly they respond to negative reviews. That alone should tell you something. Instead of fixing how they treat customers, they jump straight into damage-control mode online.
What’s even more ridiculous is them demanding “proof” of missing items, as if people regularly take photos of the inside of their cars before a tow. That response feels dismissive and unrealistic, not professional.
My experience was unprofessional, stressful, and lacked accountability from start to finish. Basic questions were met with attitude rather than explanations.
If a company spends more time defending itself in reviews than improving how it treats customers, that says enough. Avoid if you have any choice.Dec 18, 2025 -

I would give this place no star if I could. Unfortunately this place is a scam. 400 something they charged my husband for a towing that happened yesterday . Ridiculous of the price and how they treated my husband yesterday at day of towing. That man shouldn’t be working if he is having issues or problems. He should be a shame of himself, he barely had time to get what he needed from the car.

this place is a scam and shitty. first off reception barely wanted to greet me. keep in mind I’ve never had to pay more than 150 for a tow that’s only been in the impound for less than a day. I got the car towed at 8pm the previous day and picked the car up at 4:04pm today which is less than 24 hours. but yeah, according to them, I still had be charged two calendar days and it ended up being $200 plus tax. never had that happen before. after being reassured by the police officer who helped me with my vehicle that it would be super cheap. would not recommend and get it towed at a place you trust!

Most unprofessional hustlers out there. Do not use. Reporting to consumer affairs. Tom was incredibly nasty when I asked why I was paying $200 when it clearly states that the maximum price to be charged is $175 on the receipt he provided. He told me that’s the price and if I didn’t like it tough because he doesn’t want to be out there doing that job anyways. Called to complain and it seemed that this was the norm for the company. Zero professionalism, empathy or proper etiquette. I absolutely will be calling the department today of consumer affairs and requesting they have their contract with the state relinquished immediately. They are hustlers, dishonest and extremely rude. Shout out to Mike C. Had RV issue on NJ Turnpike. Mike was most caring and helpful. Easy to work with and solved our problem. He even called later that day to see how things turned out. Could have not asked for a better person. Wish there were more people in this world like him. If I could give more stars, I would! Thank you very much Mike, you turned a possible disaster into a pleasant experience. You are the best!

Must of took down their google page because of the negative reviews. All the negative reviews are 100% true. This company give other tow truck drivers a bad rep
If I could leave 0 stars I would. They made it an issue to get my personal belongings from my vehicle after totaling it.
While I was in the truck they assured me that I would be able to retrieve my belongings. When we got back to yard the driver unloaded it so quickly to put it behind their gated lot and then started making it an issue to retrieve my belongings. horrible service the lady at the front desk told me i couldnt take my belongings from my car stating they dont do “cleanouts” at this towing yard and also that i needed a police release form to take anything.. 2 days later i come back with it and they still turn me away stating i will have to pick up my belongings from where my car will be towed after by my insurance company… LONG STORY SHORT THEY STOLE COLOGNE AND EAR PEICES FROM MY CENTER CONSOLE IN MY CAR!!! HORRIBLE!!!

had a broken down truck towed here with a trailer full of customer product - they upped the original charge from $400 to $1400, and wouldn't allow another truck to come pick up the trailer until full payment was made. we made full payment, and hours later they haven't allowed the driver of the new truck back to pick up the trailer. they waited until the last minute to then tell us they won't let him separate the original truck and trailer to hook up to it, but they'll do it for an additional fee. about four hours after submitting all payment we haven't been allowed to get this trailer back on the road for delivery just 4 miles away. criminal operation.

Chrissy I believe her name was, was an angel and super sweet and attentive. She made the process super easy. Was giving over the title to my vehicle and it was seamless. About $200 since my car was in the lot for a while. So fair in pricing. Thank you Chrissy for being so nice!

I was in and out to get my car that impounded by police. They charge per calendar day not by every 24 hours the vehicle is on their property but that’s fine. I paid $250 so not bad. Each time I called they answered were respectful and helpful. I asked the lady the amount due and it matched what the gentleman charged me when I arrived to pick up my vehicle.

If I could give O stars, I would! These people are the most rude people I have ever encountered. The lady who picks up the phone lied about her name and tried to be facetious by telling me her name was "Monique" after I guess she discovered my ethnicity. Come to find out there is not an employee named Monique at the entire company.
Prior to my car being towed by them, my car was in decent shape. After picking up my car, my sway bar was bent and my wheel bushings needed to be replaced. They denied responsibility in any of this. Not to mention items were taken from my car as well.

This place is run by completely inept, inexperienced people. The dead eyed employees behind the desk will stare blankly at you and then charge you $400 for a three night stay in their lot, where they won’t even let you see your car. This “towing” company also doesn’t seem to have any tow trucks available to even take my car out of their lot. If you have the magnanimous misfortune to have your car towed here, good luck. They charge a $50 daily rate as “storage” and then fluff it up by charging ANOTHER $50 fee for their “yard.” The cars get STORED in the YARD. Maybe I’m getting this wrong but that doesn’t really make much sense to me. Good luck, honestly, if you have to work with this nightmare-ish, money hungry, soul sucking company.

By far the worst experience I've ever had with a towing company. Had an accident and my car was towed to their facility and they refused to let me go back the next day to collect the items from my car. Basically held my car hostage even though I had important materials in the car that I needed to recover. One star is too generous.

First class establishment. Was treated fairly and with respect. It is not always easy when you find yourself in a situation where you've had a accident or needed to have your car towed, but Moran Towing does the job right. Family owned and operated, you can see the pride in everything they do. Would recommend this company to all my family and friends.

My car was towed here and it had a flat tire when they towed it. I tried to ask them if they could help me with the tire and they told me they don't have the equipment to change the tire. The men there were very rude, I was trying to put air in my tire quick with a small pump I had since they would not help me so I could at least try and drive it to another place close by to have it looked at since they cant change tires or put air in them. They yelled at me to get off the lot and wouldn't let me finish. They forced me to drive off with a flat tire. Selfish, rude, unprofessional and very odd yet funny to me that they don't have the equipment to change a tire or apparently put air in them.

I rarely write reviews but I just wanted to share my great experience with Moran towing. I unfortunately hit one of those lovely potholes on the turnpike and Moran towing came to my rescue. Not only were they incredibly professional but went over and above with their customer service and even brought me a bottle of water while I waited for my ride. I would highly recommend them for anyone in need of their services.

From start to finish, this has been the worst towing experience I have had to endure. The towman was rude when he arrived and explained the rules in a way that was curt and impolite. It was expensive to tow it a few miles and keep it over the weekend, which is frustrating when there is no discussion about that prior and it forces the hand of the driver.
In addition, now that I have seen my vehicle, I have found that the front bumper is broken and must be replaced. I will be filing a police report and contacting the management.Mar 22, 2021 -

I left it in the main road and which is a tow away zone when snows.
I called moran automotive and towing and they took their time to explain the procedure to retrieve my car. I have never had the experience of needing my car to be towed due to a highway break down so I can't comment on their efficiency on this subject.Dec 29, 2020 -
Thank you to Robert and the rest of the staff for taking care of our car after an unexpected break down on the turnpike. The process went so smooth that my 4 year old remained sleep while we were being helped. Great company... awesome staff.

They towed my car because it was disabled due to an accident on Wednesday (12/18). By Monday (12/23), I wanted to get my belongings out of my car bc I was still waiting for Geico to assess the damages.The woman at the front desk told me that I had to pay the full amount in order to get my belongings out, $297 bc Geico had not contacted them yet about assessing the car. I decided to take my car out completely and ship it somewhere else since I had to pay the full amount in order to get some belongings out of my car. Once I paid, they told me I could not get my car out because they couldn't move the other cars that were in front of my car.
I noticed that my car had scratches that wasn't there before it was towed. The woman said I could speak to the manager, once he came out the bathroom. The "manager" hid in the bathroom for almost 10 minutes trying to avoid me. Once out of the bathroom, I asked can we speak outside again. He immediately replied, "if you have a complaint go to the cops". I asked can we speak outside, he began to say how he "don't know me, I could be anybody.. Why would he go outside with me?".. the situation escalated quite quickly and badly.
The owner came and resolved my issue an and let triple a tow my car from their property without further incident.
They get two stars because of their "manager's" nasty attitude, and he denounced his supervisor position bc he didn't want to help me.Dec 31, 2019 -
Unless you're forced to use them by the police cause you're stuck on the NJ turnpike, do yourself a favor and stay away, I can't believe that the police uses this company.
I've have been forced to use them twice, 1st time was on thanksgiving of 2017, they towed one of my truck's off the highway less than a mile and charged $1300 and change, 2nd time the mechanic was right behind the tow truck but wouldn't let him work on the truck, I was lucky I didn't have to pay for the towing, (For the record, in the end the whole repair took less than 15 minutes...)Aug 16, 2018 -
I feel sorry for you if have to deal with these people. The facility when you walk in it's filled with negative energy. The few times I came in every single customer that walked in was unhappy and or having some sort of inconvenience with them. Including my self. They don't even have a proper price structure and make you go through hell just get a quote and receive payment. I don't know how they are still in business which such terrible customer service. Your in for the worst experience of your life having to deal with them. If you brake down on highway i95 make sure to tell dispatch to avoid this towing company. Your at you own risk here.
