I've been in Hoboken for over 25 years and frequently go to City Paint for many of my home/office needs. They have everything you need and customer service is always on point. Highly recommend!

avoid this place. bought a small pair of needle nose pliers to that didn’t fit my task - tried to return the next day (unused), but they don’t accept returns on any tools. plus everything is very overpriced - just find a Lowe’s or Home Depot

The worst hardware store in the world. Ernie specifically refused to cut my car key blank that I provided , claimed they don’t cut customer provided key blanks -even though I was willing to pay in advance -mind you. What kind of business are these people running.
Friendly staff, always helpful and very kind whenever I come in looking for something. Local staff that lives in Hoboken and solid prices if you can’t stretch the walk to the Home Depot in JC, great place as well if you don’t have a car in Hoboken central.
Ace has the best price and service for key fob replacement and programming. Orlando was great to work with! Very knowledgeable and highly professional!
Excellent customer service! I called about a specific product and the gentleman put it off to the side for me without me even asking. On top of that, another employee helped me navigate the aisles to find everything I needed and answered my very basic questions. Thanks all, I will certainly continue to shop here for my home repair needs.
Love this Ace, support this business over the Home Depot in Jersey City. Unlike the employees at HD the workers here always do their best to help you out. They also do a good job of keeping the store stocked with useful stuff.
They have removed the prices of masks and sell them at whatever price they want, changing it at will. This is illegal. "New Jersey's Merchandise Pricing Statute requires prices to be plainly marked with a stamp, label or sign on or near the merchandise. The law is aimed to ensure that consumers know the price of an item as they look at it, and need not have to ask a sales employee." Contacted Ace central, and they do not give a damn about the disgusting price gouging.
Home Depot it is not but considering it is "City Paint & Hardware," you really can't ask for much more. They pack every square foot and have a friendly staff to help you navigate it all. The only knock are the hours. It would be great if they were open a bit later and perhaps Sundays. Otherwise, great store and I would always rather support a small, local business over a big box whenever possible.
Perfect mom & pop hardware shop which has most things you'll need without having to leave Hoboken. Carlos in the paint shop is knowledgeable and very helpful in answering all questions regarding your project. Highly recommended!
Been shopping here for over 20 years. Always had what I was looking for. They have plumbing, electrical, paints and tools. Marco and his team are very helpful. They have matched paint samples for me many times over the years and are always spot on.

Where has customer service gone!! I was told aisle number and back of store then spent the next 5 minutes still looking when I got there. As long as I've known ace hardware as a brand it's been about specialty and customer service. I've never minded paying a little extra because every time I walk through the door I would get escorted around till my needs were filled and the store made a sale. I'll go back for convenience sake and well trusted products but was sad to see no quality customer service.
Got my keys copied here by Max. She was super helpful and detailed oriented. My key was a bit unique and she really took the time to make sure the blank is the appropriate key. I know there are other cole hardwares in the city, but this one is the best! They even have a master locksmith onsite.
The staff at City Paint & Ace Hardware are very friendly and very helpful. I was looking for a specialty screw that ended up being only $0.20 but the person helping me went out of her way to find the exact thing I needed. A+. Definitely coming back.
Super friendly staff, I'm surprised at how far back this place goes, they really do have everything. My only gripe is that they close early! Often when I get home from work they are already closed during the week. And sometimes I need paint at 8pm, ok?

Great service, friendly, and super fast.
They did not have a certain colot plasti dip in stock. The gentleman ordered it for me and I got the item the same week.
I came in with a problem, and had to simply ask for help finding a solution. For over an hour, a number of employees assisted me, giving me options and ideas that I simply wouldn't have had on my own. I ended up fixing the problem, in addition to picking up a few household items, all for under $20.
