I had an amazing experience. The store is very clean and the staff are friendly. Tyquan was my cashier and very nice. When I had to return Belissa did a great job! Will go back!

This store has terrible service at the checkout counters. I wanted to pay at the self-checkout, but they asked me to go to a cashier who left me waiting for about six minutes while he dusted some areas of the store. When he finally got around to ringing me up, he threw my items at me, which was really disconcerting.

My local acme. They have good staff and fresh food. A solid grocery store.

Clean market, great vibe, have a lot of discounts and good choices. They just need to update their online inventory. I was looking for an Easy Off Degreaser and they stated that they had it online but the spot where the item should’ve been was empty. Great people there at the register too. Nice to speak with briefly.

Worst shipping experience of any supermarket ever. This store has no public bathroom after 8pm. Terrible!

Bad customer service - Have been a regular shopper at Acme Hoboken. We bought a package of Lucerne Baby Swiss put in our refrigerator for 2 weeks, it had an October 2025 expiration date in it. When I opened it, entire package was mildew. We were going away that day, so I took pictures showing the entire package and the expiration date, and threw it away- I wasn't going to keep that bad cheese in my fridge. When we returned in about a week we went shopping. We had about 2 full bags of groceries $70.75 and I wanted to get another package of cheese to replace the one I had thrown away. However, the lady manager on duty said it was not their policy to do this kind of exchange because I did not have the receipt and even though I had very clear pictures (as I was not going to keep the cheese) and was currently purchasing $70 worth of groceries. Also by the registers the return policy is so unclear. I could have possibly got credit without the receipt but I didn't have the moldy disgusting cheese! It's a small item, but the bigger picture is they are now loosing my business as this manager did not use good common sense customer service. I work retail and we go above and beyond to make sure we keep our customers happy. I will go to ShopRite and Trader Joe's.

Decent selection, connected liquor department, nice staff, reasonable prices. Totally serviceable grocery store for the everyday needs

The night shift manager Bell (sorry if I misspelled) is a very nice lady! And all the respect for people who carry the night shifts!

Management is rude more than half the time. Courtesy counter is rarely staffed. I go in tonight to buy a pack of cigarettes. Some rude female manager tells me it’s cash only …ok no problem I have cash so I ask if she could assist me at a checkout lane. She obviously didn’t want to be bothered and told me this was the only time she’s assist me in my purchase. I’m a regional director with another corporation and I would have reprimanded her on the spot. Shop at this Acme THEN shop at shop rite or Trader Joe’s … it’s a night and day difference. I go here for one or two items but the bulk of y shopping and savings is always done elsewhere. $100.00 worth of groceries in this glorified convenience store costs $75-$80 elsewhere and that’s the truth. But overall out of 4!staff members, 3 are consistently rude. Not to mention that most of them do not know the location of items when you ask them. Shop elsewhere if you can

Prices are a bit steep. Selection is not as good as the other Acme in jersey city.

Be very careful when your see offers in the store and don't pay until you check that everything is been charged correctly. Otherwise not only there might be no way to challenge anything but you might be treated very poorly for trying to do so. I was charged an amount different to the price label for a pack of 6 beers in the liquor store. I showed the price and the women came up with some excuse of smaller packs of 4 beers and some bizarre rant about alcohol taxes. I took a picture of the label and tried to show her that the label clearly showed the correct pack size, but the women treated me like I was trying to scam her, she even question if the picture was from the store and then she completely dismissed me repetidly with no will to listen anything at all until I lost my nerve. She could have handled me so easily if she had any kind customer service ability. She could at least had a look at the label and the volume in the label and simply say that there was a mistake. I'm very happy to be proven wrong but at least I think I deserved to be listened to. And even if she wouldn't be able to honor the price on the label, a simple sorry the label is wrong would have gone a long way. Instead I left the shop feeling completely embarrassed in front of my 3 years old daughter and my wife, after getting in a heated argument about trivial amount that escalated so quickly. I know that I probably hav some customer rights protections but who can get into these things for a few dollars. I can't say if this is part of the store policy or not but clearly some people should not be allowed to be in client facing positions and it reflects very poorly in the company. Never had such kind of incident in the other large supermarket nearby where they always have a great attitude and are always happy to correct any issues with prices. Edit: added the price showing that it's for 96 fluid ounces (6 cans of 16foz) and not for 64 fluid ounces like the employee repeated over and over without bothering to check the label. After more careful examination the offer seems to have expired in May 28, which explains why it wasn't registered in the POS, my visit was 5th of July. So the offer was on display expired for 38 days without anyone removing it. The most basic check by the employee could have pointed this out without neededing to get into an argument.

Still one of my favorite places to shop, keeping quality and variety a reason to share with others. Jus be mindful of your grocery list, location is key to finding your preferred goods. Sorry I didn't get a Pic when posting

This store does not care about food safety or your health. 3 of the products I purchased, fresh salmon, fresh baked cold cottage pie and cream cheese were all out of date. The salmon was slimey and smelled bad. Very deceitful of the store to sell expired products and especially as we could have gotten very sick from eating. AVOID and spend your money elsewhere that sells food safe to eat.

I was racially profiled here today around 10:30 PM JUNE 5th by a white male employee with a ponytail and glasses. I’m a Black man, a Hoboken resident, and I come here weekly for groceries and baby formula. After buying formula, the employee came up to me and said, “After what happened on the 15th, you can’t shop here.” That was not only offensive, it was completely baseless. Not every Black person looks the same. I was publicly accused and embarrassed for simply existing while Black. It’s 2025, this kind of treatment is disgusting, unacceptable, and shows a serious lack of training and accountability. Do better.

On this episode of chicken wars, we have Acme. Shoutout to Acme for stepping up, as both Sam's Club and ShopRite were closed on Easter. I respect it though, big up to Jesus. A whole Lemon Pepper flavored chicken ran $7.99, which is just below market price for a bird. It came highly recommended, which sort of surprised me as in my head it’s a lower end grocery store. Acme has soldiers though, respect. I got this bird and took it down to Sinatra Park, which is located right on the water in Hoboken. I always struggle to find a spot to eat these Tissis, as I’m really shy and insecure. The steps at Sinatra Park were pretty mellow, so I decided this was the perfect place. Plus the Empire State Building was in the background so that was tight. As I picked this bird up for the initial shot in the video, I could feel it falling apart in my hands. This is a telltale indicator of a good chicken. The breast was solid, just a tad dry from being ELITE. The leg and thigh however were 1st team all Tissi, super moist with a lemon pepper flavoring that you could taste. Skin was operating at a high level as well. Final score was 8.3 out of 10, which ranks it #4 out of 18 birds I’ve tried so far. GREAT value too at $7.99. Shoutout to Acme, keep slanging these high level birds!! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Expensive but that’s life right now. Manager is moody, really nice or mean. Super tight, you have to squeeze by if people are shopping. It is nice that it’s small makes shopping faster. Not a lot of shelf space and they don’t restock so they are out of stock a lot.

Excellent, low price for the eggs too, I will definitely recommend this place

My local go to spot for groceries. I've been shopping here since 1998 when it was opened as A&P. The staff and hours are great. Open at 6am and close at midnight everyday except Sundays is 7am-Midnight. I wish it was 24/7 again like A&P but I still give it 5 Stars. They carry a wide variety of items for small location.

Bad service, bag your own groceries while the employees are having a conversation and in the way of you trying to bag your own groceries. Don’t understand why there’s so many employees standing around in that place.

Highly recommend the bakery! I ordered a custom cake for my son’s birthday. There’s lots of bakery options in Hoboken but the price quotes I got from other bakeries were x2-x3. Affordable and they did a great job!! I’d definitely return for future parties.

Frustrated with their fake promotions… we buy here a lot because we live nearby and it’s convenient but I might have to look elsewhere… one week they have the 3 packs of berries offer, the other week they don’t but still keep the “promotion”. When I asked about it, the manager answer was “this week the promotion applies only to the organic ones”. Well in the promotions it says: raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. Let me tell you they only have one type of raspberries and one type of blackberries. There’s no difference… to me it sounds like they do what they feel like and apply promotions when they feel like… it so frustrating to see the same offer again and again and never know when its going to be applied at checkout, just like the weather you never know what you get. And sure, they do it coz some people will never check their ticket, so it’s a cheap marketing trick. Time to find a better place to buy groceries! UPDATE: I bought two Keto Yogurt and they were both expired. I noticed it after drinking one of them. I went to the store to return the other one. Not only the lady there was rude, but she didn’t even apologize and was trying to argue me. She doesn’t realize that this is not about the $3 yogurt but people’s health. For something like this, the store can get in serious trouble. Stay away as much as you can from this place! They have fake promotions and expired products. If you buy something that’s on promotion make sure it was not expired 2 weeks ago… after arguing with me she let me exchange one of the yogurt. Her answer was “you drank this one I can’t do anything” and my thought was yeah lady I could have died drinking this expired product but you don’t seem to care about customer service. So be extra careful!

Deli ladies wouldn’t make me a sandwich, and wouldn’t be consistent about why. 1- we don’t have bread, you can’t use that bread, you have to buy the rolls separately, 2- we don’t make sandwiches after 7 3- you gonna have to talk to my manager. The manager never came, the “argument” lasted longer than how long it takes to make a sandwich. The deli ladies are unhappy and it’s effecting the business. Give them breaks, more money?, clear rules?

I came from Manhattan, where I was guaranteed that they had Taylor pork rolls. The nice lady tried, but they lied. Costing me time and money. Managers taking cigarette breaks, no one to help. A bad store, bad advertising.

How great is this stores understanding of our needs in Hoboken, cheese and crackers, not affected price wise by the eight billion and a million dead of the extreme times in which we suffered. Equal opportunity US store, best value in our town

I stayed during 10 days in Hoboken, and this was the place I came regularly to buy my groceries. I found everything I needed here at reasonable prices.

The bakery department is outstanding! They have a great choice of ready to take cakes, cupcakes, cookies. The decorator does a great job. I can't be thankful enough to Emma. She is the best employee, professional and caring. I ordered a custom made cake with 48 hours notice, and even with short notice she made sure to accomodate my request. The cake was beautiful and delicious. My little girl was so happy on her birthday. I will come here to buy cakes for all my celebrations.

Really upset the ground beef quality we bought there, this is the 2nd time we bought meat like photo. it looked fresh from outside when we bought it, but we found out they stuck old meat inside when we use it to cook ! Never buy meat from there anymore!
