The worst experience I ever had in reference to towing. I have AAA and they happened to pair me with this horrible place. They over charged me for tolls and when I questioned why they were so high and asked for an itemized bill I was rudely told “ just pay the bill that’s just how it is” and was hung up on. I paid the bill called back and asked about the bill he proceeded to tell me to pay my bill or my car is getting impounded. I replied I did and asked who I was speaking to and then to speak with a manager. He told me he was the manager and hung up again. PLEASE DONT GO HERE THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU AND DISRESPECT YOU FOR HAVING ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT SERVICES YOU ARE PAYING FOR ! If I could give you less than 1 star I would .
Stellar service from Jay! Ended up needing a tow when my car stalled. He was super professional, kept his cool, and was incredibly helpful. Honestly, if I would give more stars I could.

Be careful with this company! It is a scam operation. We parked in the parking lot directly opposite Dollar Deal (address: 701 Frank E Rodgers Blvd N) because we were going shopping there. When we returned to our car, two thug-like men were waiting and said we weren’t allowed to park there. They demanded a $275 fine, cash only, or they would tow our car. We paid and asked for a receipt—it was issued under your company’s name. This proves the money went to you. We will report this to the IRS to investigate whether you are paying taxes properly, since it is suspicious that you only accept cash. Later, we passed by the same place again and saw the same two men lurking near store entrances, setting traps for customers and fining them. If anyone has had a similar experience, let’s report them together! We can’t let this fraudulent company continue operating.
My car was towed and the entire experience has been outrageous. The tow company is demanding an excessive and unjustified amount of money, far beyond anything reasonable or standard. Their service has been extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and clearly predatory. When I arrived to pick up my car, they attempted to increase the price again, demanding more money than what they originally stated, and they refused to provide any clear invoice, itemized charges, or written explanation.
What makes this situation even worse is that they refused to let me retrieve my personal belongings from inside my car, which is completely unacceptable and illegal. They insisted on being paid in cash only, which raises serious red flags about the legitimacy of their operation and whether they are trying to avoid proper documentation and accountability. Their behavior is dishonest, intimidating, and abusive, and it is clear they are taking advantage of people in vulnerable situations.
If I can give it ZERO stars I would. Their drivers pick and choose who they want to give a boot to. He was very friendly with the one guy who he obviously knew and let him go, literally, he saw my daughter park and could’ve came out and told her just like he told his friend but he didn’t yet saw my kid as a young person who can get taken advantage of and like a piranha came out of his car n gave her a boot when in reality where she was parked, there was no sign that said it was only for that store. It was only certain spots so apparently they pick and choose the people they want to give the boot to, so if you’re their friend or if they know you, they’re not gonna get a a boot but anyone else Your targeted. And on top of that, calling them was the worst Customer Service I have never dealt with in my life. I guess it shows their level of education n unprofessionalism, Unbelievably disrespectful had no manners and even answering a phone I guess they’re not taught well. This is why they have a 2.7 score on reviews because of how horrific they are and how horrific their customer service was, it left me baffled but again you can’t expect much from people that do that type of job. And this person who I spoke to was supposedly the manager, so if this is how this supposedly manager treats people, I can only imagine how the other employees treat people because they are learning from him, and he completely hung up on me it shows their unprofessionalism. But again, you can’t expect much, because one guy that boots cars to only people he doesn’t know was just as unprofessional. And on top of that, he refused to give her a receipt I wonder why?
I had an issue where my car wouldn’t start and needed to be towed to the dealership. I called this company at 8:30 AM, and they gave me a price over the phone, assuring me they’d send someone. They asked me to text my information, which I did, but I never got a reply. I told them I needed the tow by 1:30 PM to avoid rush hour, and they agreed.
When I followed up later, they suddenly told me I had to sign a contract before they would send anyone. I signed, and they promised someone would arrive in 45 minutes but I ended up waiting two hours. When they finally arrived, the owner changed the price from $175 to $200, claiming it was because of rush hour. I agreed just to get it done and asked them to take the car straight to the dealership.
Even then, I got to the dealership before they did. When I called for an ETA, I was told “10 minutes,” but another full hour passed. When they finally showed up, it was a completely different truck they had switched vehicles without telling me. Because of all these delays, my car missed its service appointment.
When I asked about a discount, the owner was rude and dismissive, saying I had signed a contract. His attitude was nasty and unprofessional, and he clearly didn’t care about the massive inconvenience they caused.
This company is dishonest, disorganized, and completely unprofessional. They change their prices, make you sign confusing contracts, fail to communicate, and treat customers with no respect. The only reason I paid was because I had no other choice.
I would never recommend this towing company to anyone. They will waste your time, overcharge you, and treat you terribly. If you do call them, record every conversation because they will tell you one price and then try to rob you.
This company is full of predators. My car was in the lot for a few minutes and right as I came to go to my car I see that they are putting it in the jack. Before they even finished I got there and I was still forced to pay 270 dollars. They are a bunch of scam artists. No way should it costs that much money to drop the car and on top of that they charge an administration fee.

This is probably the nicest most professional group of guys that you will ever meet each and every one of them is respectful courteous mindful of any special requests plus the trucks are always clean and they are always on time you can call them at 3 o’clock in the in the morning on New Year’s Day during the apocalypse and they will be there guaranteed usually tow truck companies they come and go But AJ has been with us consistent now for a few and I don’t think I would use anybody else to be honest these guys are here to stay. I have no words for how horrible this company is. Towed my car told me it was a total of 500 dollars, when I go pick it up it’s in sketchy place next to a cemetery the guy tries to ask me for 600. They ruined my car because they were not careful and refusing to help with fixing it. Horrible people business owners and human beings
We were visiting from North Carolina and staying at a nearby hotel. We hung the flimsy permit from our rearview mirror when we arrived at the hotel shortly after midnight and when we went to leave for our return drive back to North Carolina at around 9/9:30, the car was gone. A simple phone call could have been made to the hotel to rectify the situation. They actually lied and claimed they spoke to us at the hotel as they were taking the car. We called the local police department due to the fact that the hotel could not verify whether or not our car was towed. The police department provided one phone number, their website and sign had another number and finally hotel management provided a special number to us. RED FLAG. After calling all of these numbers severals times from several different phone numbers all morning, we finally got through to someone even though their website claims 24/7 service and they "understand the importance of our client's time and strive to always be punctual. Providing prompt and efficient services to meet your schedules is what we do best" The man who answered the phone was very rude to my spouse and even hung up the phone mid conversation although their website states that the company believes in "treating our clients they way we would want to be treated, and that's why we offer PROFESSIONAL and COMPASSIONATE services to exceed your expectations..." We called the local police again to potentially meet us there to help facilitate any interactions with this company because we felt unsafe after how the employee spoke to us and hung up on us.
Although they claim 24/7 service, we had to wait 2 hours to meet an employee at their location because they were "doing us a favor" by meeting us a day they were closed. The price was ASTRONOMICAL at $665 because they had to boot our Kia Sportage mind you, we were parked in an approved spot. When we went to retrieve the car, they would not allow us to see it and the worker returned very quickly which made us question whether there was even a boot on the car to begin with! The SHADIEST part is CASH ONLY..... It's 2025, what business with these prices does cash only - RED FLAG.
Another hotel customer had to retrieve his car as well and he sent us information about this place being a SCAM and that their US DOT numbers on their trucks don't match and they don't have insurance. RED FLAG. NJ Consumer Affairs will be hearing from us as well as the BBB and COC They don't care about YOU, they care about MONEY
From my experience this seem this seems like a deceptive and unethical business practices. AJ Towing, subcontracted by JMV Boot Service, operates in a manner that raises serious legal and ethical concerns. Upon retrieving my vehicle, I was informed I would be paying two separate companies (one for the boot, one for the tow) yet I was issued a single invoice bearing a JMV Boot Service stamp, with no clear separation of charges. The total cost to reclaim my vehicle exceeded $700, cash only. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, particularly given that the original total was $770 until a worker arbitrarily deducted $50 from the towing fee.
What’s more disturbing is the attempt to silence public criticism. After sharing my experience on social media, I received a direct message threatening legal action for defamation unless I removed my post. This is not only inappropriate but could be considered an attempt to intimidate and suppress consumer rights.
In this economy, few can afford to lose hundreds of dollars without clear justification. If you have experienced a similar situation, I strongly urge you to contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs and file a formal complaint. Consumers deserve transparency, fair treatment, and accountability. Not threats and financial exploitation.
Predatory towing and a blatant violators of the NJ predatory towing act. I’m know I’m only One of hundreds who have dealt with this SCAM of a company. Watched me go into a business they patrol and wait in front of to boot your car, then when I came back out there was a boot on my car and I was told I did not go into the business when I obviously did. Will be reporting them to the consumer affairs office and pursuing this legally.
Absolutely horrible experience. The towing company gave me one price on the phone, but when it was time to pay, they charged me way more. Total rip-off. On top of that, they handled my car like trash. My rims had no damage before, but now they’re scraped up and look ruined. It’s so frustrating because I take care of my car, and now it looks messed up thanks to them. When I tried to talk to them about it, they were rude and didn’t care at all. Never using them again, and I’d tell everyone to stay far away.
This company is in cahoots with people who work in different management companies to tow people's cars if they don't have a tag that they could park there; in my opinion. My loaner car was towed within 30 minutes of receiving it. You call management to inform them, and they don't answer the phone. Instead of calling the person who rents the space to see if they know about the car parked in the space they lease for more than $100 monthly. What they do is that when the towing company is driving around to see if they could find someone with a tag and inform management that they see a car without a tag. Management tells them to tow the car. In my opinion, They are all crooks. They charge the person $410 to get the car back I wouldn't use this company because they are going to get you in big trouble. They are all crooks and in cahoots in my opinion.
This company has rather shady practices. After calling for a tow I called them back to get an ETA as my truck was stuck in the loading dock of a business. No one answered my phone calls or texts. Including a text requesting a cancellation. When the tow finally arrived the company whose loading dock was blocked had called a tow. We were forced to pay the other company then AJ proceeded to demand we pay them despite not answering their phones or texts sent to them . This included texts requesting an ETA. I figure this is a strategy to prevent cancellations.They threatened me with calling the police . Terrible customer service. This place is a den of thieves. Beware.
This company is the biggest scam I have ever seen. They double charged me and the police informed me that many others have had this done to them as well. Bad business!

I tried to speak to a Supervisor in person when I was still in New Jersey but "Jay" was the only information provided to me by an employee. I understand your business is a money grab especially for out of state individuals. No one wanted to work with me then and a phone call wont change the fact that I paid an Egregious amount of money. I also know for a fact that others have paid 100+ dollars more than I did. I would rate zero stars if I could!

5 stars across the board. Very professional and courteous service. After being left stranded by another tow company AJ’s Towing & Recovery swooped in and saved the day. I was an emotional wreck by the time they came and Juan was very reassuring and knowledgeable. I don’t usually write reviews, but I could not let such great service not get the recognition it deserves.
Do not go near this place. A bunch of crooks. Towed my car and demanded $850 cash only. When I objected the owner over the phone threatened fine come back tomorrow and get your car and we will charge another day of storage. Added numerous fees after towing my car from a lot. Scam artists. Will be reporting them to consumer affairs tomorrow.
BE CAREFUL EVERY ONE THEY ARE SCAMMERS. They towed my car at Walgreen parking lot while i was in the pharmacy, the guy was very rude and scammed on me to pay him $225 on spot to leave the car in the parking lot and runaway without giving my a receipt. I did a police report and will make sure this case will go to the court ASAP.

I had a really bad experience with this towing company. When they towed my car, they left a scrape on my tire rims. It's super frustrating because my rims were in perfect condition before.. They should be more careful when handling other people's vehicles. I wouldn't recommend this company unless you want to risk getting your rims damaged. Esp expensive rims.
Please be aware of this company and do your research!!! My vehicle was recently booted while parked on a handicap parking spot (which I am handicap) at the Dollar Tree in Belleville. I paid $185.00, from the $200.00 fee they were asking. However, after contacting the Belleville Police and doing some research, I have learned that they are in violation of the Predatory Towing Act and a company with unconscionable commercial pratices by victimizing consumers in charging excessive fees. I am filing an official complaint with the Consumer Affairs Department and the Municipality for their violations. I hope to hear from management to avoid having to escalate the matter further.
Do NOT use be ware!!!!! They don't take Jack's they don't take digital wallets. They don't take PayPal. They don't take zelle I got screwed out of a vehicle which is now being held hosted by their business they quoted us $850 on a recorded line to our business. Then they can added taxes after the fact we weren't able to pull out enough cash because they wouldn't take any of the payment meth until they got there. They told us they weren't accepting this and now they had enough $300 on to it and they're bragging to us. It didn't charge of storage had to call the police
