I was involved in a car accident and my car was towed at this location. I went to MTS towing to drop off needed documentation for the adjustor and to retrieve items out of my vehicle. My vehicle is always kept in pristine condition. At this towing location, my vehicle was completely trashed while in their possession. My vehicle had an empty marijuana package in the cupholder, the cupholders were used as an ashtray, and empty food containers were left in my vehicle. Whoever did this to MY vehicle at this "establishment" is VERY ignorant and inconsiderate. AVOID THIS TOWING COMPANY AT ALL COST. They're rude, very ignorant, and did not care about my vehicle that I’VE WORKED HARD FOR TO EARN. This "establishment" needs to be closed permanently, especially considering similar reviews addressing these issues.
This place sucks, they need to get shut down immediately not respecting people, not respect people's property people stuff that is a big deal!!!! Whoever feels strongly about that they should say something. Because they shouldn't be in business if they treat people like garbage!!!!!

Scam Alert: Irvington, Newark, and East Orange Police Departments + MTS Towing‼‼
Be extremely cautious if you park in Irvington, Newark, or East Orange, NJ. These police departments appear to be running a coordinated towing scam with a company called MTS Towing. They falsely accuse drivers of "blocking driveways" to justify illegal towing, even when there is no violation. In my case, I was parked legally, but still towed without notice.
When you try to get a report at the police station, they conveniently tell you the Bureau of Records is “closed,” causing delays so your vehicle racks up more storage fees at MTS. By the time you finally get to the yard, expect the worst: scratches on your car, stolen valuables (money, jewelry, clothes, etc), and severe mechanical damage.
In my case, my car came back with:
* Scratched body paint
* Stolen personal belongings
* Broken struts, coils, alignment, belt, and driveshaft.
* On a front-wheel drive car, that means the entire front end was damaged.
This is not just poor service—it’s organized theft and vehicle sabotage, enabled by law enforcement. I strongly urge anyone who’s been affected to file complaints with the **New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs**, **state attorney general**, and consider seeking legal help.
Stay vigilant ‼and avoid parking in these cities if you can.
Shame on MTS Towing for things stolen from my car while in their possession. My car was impounded on Thursday, the earliest I could get it was Monday.
I paid the bill, got the car and the first thing I noticed was the roof light left on. The car was in a ransacked state, I thought they might have dropped it off the towing truck.
Money (that I forgot to take out) was gone, as well as my Ceeniu Car Air Freshener, Smart Ultrasonic diffuser was unplugged and missing. This costs over $100 on Amazon.
I called MTS Towing and was told to file a police report. I called Irvington police twice and was told each time that they are not responsible for anything stolen from the pound/lot.
Aren’t there cameras on the lot that could be checked? Shame! Shame! Shame on MTS Towing.
Staff is friendly and they are always there to help you out if your car was towed. There fees are reasonable especially john and Rudolph are very patient they are willing to work with you. Good attitude
Very disrespectful people plus the U-Haul people who will try to steal you if you don’t take all your proofs, thanks to U-Haul costumer service who helped me solve my issue they accused me for not bringing the hand truck back which I’ve bring back the same day but it took 7days to confirm they received it smh
Was only here for a uhaul and the young man who "helped" was very rude and had an attitude; zero customer service had a very "I don't care and why are you here" attitude. So I left and took my money and business elsewhere

Got tow, they need to work on customer service, Don't want them having your car at all, check your car once they give it to you. Waiting 37 mins for them to give me the wrong car, they lady seemed aggravated because she had to redo the paperwork, small building only 3-4 people can fit.

MTS towing Irvington.They are a rip off . I recently was involved in a car accident in Irvington there’s definitely a scam being ran between this towing service and the police . I never had to pay damn near $400 for a 24 hr tow& storage fee . The employee was down right nasty from start to finish . Make sure to have your windows close, they charge 25$ each to slap a plastic if the window is open. They also damaged my car in the process and stole my car battery jump starter (100$ value). How is this legal? Someone need to sue this company.
Also, don't leave your car there for more than 5 hours.. they move cars around with a forklift if they're blocking other cars that need to be retrieved. The forklift will most likely damage the front bumper or rear. The more your car sitting there, the more it will be moving around with a forklift.
Horrible experience. They would only allow one person to step into vehicle area. My daughter was forced to empty her vehicle by herself without any assistance because nobody else was allowed onto the property. It was a terrible experience.

Exactly what you would expect . I waited hours for my vehicle only to find out the paperwork work was filled out incorrectly. Worst of all my vehicle was damaged while being in their possession. Overall, Bad,not organized and unprofessional.
We are from WV and are towing cars for the flood relief when our own tow truck broke down beside the road. Mts towing got to us very quickly and rescued our truck and towed it back to our motel and recommended places to get parts. Very professional drivers and was very reasonable priced. Would recommend for all your towing needs. You guys are great and thank you for helping us out.
Got my car towed cos of expired registration and hit and run, car was running after the hit, got my car out after 4 days with check engine light, found out my transmission oil is leaking, if it's from the accident, it supposed to dried out after 4 days. The guy with the Forklift don't care about your car to get more damage, dragging my car on the ground with the forklift, full of unprofessional. The cashier call a price I had to pay, reduce the price after I asked questions and still giving altitude. 0 stars for them

My car has been towed less than 24hrs and they're charging me $234.00. And based on the lady on the phone it can be more. $200 for towing and $34 for storage. HOW!! my car was towed from Lyons ave to their location around 130pm to Chancellor less than 5mins drive. And I was told I had to get it Monday morning. And less than a FKING DAY!! How can you guys be so heartless.
This place is CLEARLY run by the MOB!! They are also clearly in bed with the Irvington Police Department! The Police Officer that pulled me over lied to me about my registration being suspended, even though I knew for a fact it wasn't. They had MTS tow my car, and when I bought proof to the Police Department to show them my registration isn't suspended they said I have to pay MTS to get it out, and then try to get my money back when I come to court. Mind you my court date is 2 months from now!!! They said if I don't pay to get it from MTS they can keep it!! I went to MTS to get my car out, and when I got my vehicle I realized it was ramsacked my glove compartment was cleared out, and my bookbag was completely emptied out and ravaged. Its mind blowing how a registered business could feel that comfortable doing this.... Oh wait... They have the Police in their pocket...!!!
My car was in an accident on Thursday 11/15 when we had that terrible car storm in NJ, so my car was not drivable and the Maplewood Police called MTS Towing to tow my car.
I called early this morning 11/18 at 7:20 to seek information if my was picked up by my insurance company.
Lo and behold an aggressive voice from a man answered.....he never introduced himself and all he said was "what do you want" i was like.....ok it's early so maybe things will get better as the conversation progresses. Who am i kidding....this man was so rude it was un-unbelievable. It was a pity he didn't give his name. He said he was the owner. He needs to go to re-hab for drug testing. He was sooo rude and in humane. It appeared he didn't want any calls so early in the morning and abruptly told me to call Maplewood Police Station for release.....before i could say thanks......guess what???.......yep, he hung up!!
In my opinion this place should be shut down and that manager guy should be sent to a grooming school to learn how to speak properly and also be polite to others. Trust me God will deal with him....."vengeance is mine ....i will repay saith God"

By far the worst towing service possible. If your car gets towed at 11:58pm and you come to pick it up at 10am you will be charged for 2 FULL storage days. Extortion at its finest. SMD IPD and MTS
Its bad when you don’t have a your car for three days but even worst when you get your car to see things missing. I went to get my car and paid what was owed. I’m not gonna complain about price because it is what it is but for someone to take expensive items out your car is the worst. No one knows anything and everyone points fingers. If you ever get pulled over and the police officer must take your car do yourself the favor and take all expensive belongings with you. They have no respect for your property. The manager was somewhat helpful and so was the owner. But it’s crazy how you can’t even leave things in your car especially in a police impound. Worst experience ever
They only tow your vehicle if your in violation or had been in an accident. They charge for the tow and per day storage, rates that are set by the municipality. So if your bill is a lot, if not their fault that you waited too long or your insurance company dragged their feet to settle the bill. Tow companies pay alot of money for taxes, truck payments, insurance, fuel, payroll, equipment, ect. So the next time you order a pizza, tell tony $12 is highway robbery
Was towed today , they charged me 220 after my car was there less than an hour due to construction ... didn't give me a discount because he didn't like Newark cops (because he got a ticket ) .. After I explained my dad was a Newark cop. After that I realized I had a scratch and puncture on the back of my NEW 2016 car . Place is a rip off . Hope it goes out of business soon . I was a member for many years and started to have problems with them over the last few years. They didn't return phone calls, they forgot to auto-bill my account so I had to pay out of pocket for a tow. Then after 6 months of me calling them, they finally reimbursed me for it but it was $40 short. Overall, it's not worth the hassle to deal with these guys. It is more cost-effective and much less trouble to just pay for each tow myself.
