The ordering process was very easy and straightforward. I had a few items I wanted to clarify and my call was answered promptly, professionally and succinctly. I haven't received the engine yet, therefore can't comment on the actual product. Once installed, I'll try to get back and review.
Bought a remanufactured engine to replace the one that nearly gave up on me, and it’s been running great. I’ve only put a few thousand miles on it, but have no complaints.
It got delivered in four days instead of a week or longer, and I got to pick my delivery date so I could time it right. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a new engine!
So far so good !!! Haven’t installed it yet but it looks great!!! Edited: engine was on point couldn’t have asked for more ! Transmission on the other hand… was sent a six speed transmission when the ordered a 5 spd ! I called to work it out and was told to send it back but we don’t have a 5spd in stock??? I decided to keep the transmission even though there is no lockout for reverse which is dangerously close to 6th gear !!! I’m going to have to pay my mechanic to make me a reverse lockout and wire up the reverse lights and I explained this so the offered me a $ 50 store credit ??? It would have cost them more than that to ship it back !!! Just wanted a little compensation for the headache!
Ordered a KA24DE engine that arrived missing the EGR system, making it incomplete and unusable. After returning the engine and following their required 30-day wait, they refused to issue a full refund and only provided a partial refund despite the error being theirs. Poor resolution and accountability. Would not recommend.
Not an honest buisness when it comes to the engines they sell. They have no problems selling you junk engines because it will cost you 600 plus dollars to ship it back which you have to pay for on top of what you payed originally. They STOLE $1000 dollars from me and many others. READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS CROOK. Notice the engine mount on the front of the engine The pictures from their item page has no bolts in it and the pictures of the one they sent me has bolts that were cut with a torch or plasma cutter. The engine you sent is not usable. The picture is of where the alternator mounts this engine should have never been shipped or disclosed as major damage. The bottom line is you showed pictures of the actual item being shipped then did not ship the item you sold me. The offer you made was for me to pay return shipping on the engine you sent me that was not the one I purchased. Return shipping on an engine is $600.00 is the cheapest quote I got, Or a partial reimbursement on the trash you sent. E Bay and pay pal both found in my favor requiring me to pay for return shipping . That does not seem fair that I have to pay to ship back the engine you sent and hoped I would not notice it was not the one you sold to me. Quit doing shady buisness JDM.. No morals at this company they will send you a paper weight/engine that is trash and charge you to ship it back. So you have no choice but to keep it. THEY STOLE $1000 dollars from me and countless others. Read all the reveiws. UPDATE................... I got the bolt hole tig welded drilled and tapped at a cost of $250.00. Installed the engine just to find out it misfires on every cylinder. The engine they sold me has burned valves. Total crook. They sent me a junk engine knowing it was junk.No contact from JDM since I found out that the valves were burned on the paper weight they sold me. That engine is now at rest in the recycler waiting to be crushed. Thanks for the life lesson JDM......Total crooks. Bad buisness.
F this place. This place is scamming people. I would not recommend buying. If you have any issue with the product they will ask you to send pictures and get a work order from a certified ase mechanic. They didn’t even bother to offer me to send it back and exchange for another. They’ll basically give you the run around. These guys know shops are usually always busy and takes time and money to process so you will usually have the product beyond the 30day warranty. No shop will put everything on hold and put you first so that you’re covered by their warranty! By then you already know what their excuse is. That being said let me share my experience.
I bought a Jdm k24 and received a motor that was clean on the outside and under valve cover. Compression tested 150psi in all 4. Saw some light sludge not a big deal but upon more inspection my mechanic noticed rust on intake valves, on top of piston, and oil residue inside of water pump housing. Thick carbon build up. Also 3/4 spark plugs were wet. I’m assuming it’s wd40 to free up the piston rings or so it won’t rust. Or they might’ve noticed the rust, spray wd40 and decided to ship it out anyways. Also the oil pan was dented. After acknowledging all this you will think this motor has more miles than what is actually stated.
Ive consulted with a few good mechanics around my area from reputable shops and said it should be fine as long as it has compression, it was still not promising and I was disappointed. Having rust inside the motor was already a bad sign. At this point I was not comfortable with putting this motor in.
I reach out to them the same day the motor came in with my concerns and they didn’t reassure me of anything or assist me as what my options were. I just wanted their input from a business prospective. Instead they asked for pictures which I sent and wanted a work order by a certified mechanic. Work order for what!? These are accessories that had to come off anyways and isn’t under warranty! If my mechanic had not take off the water pump housing no one would ever notice the oil residue. Also this cost me time and money! I get that Jdm engine depot doesn’t know what they’re getting and neither do we when ordering. They won’t admit they gave you a bad product and will give you the run around. I don’t blame them but at least have some better customer support and try to fix the situation.
Right then just told me I have a bad feeling about them doing business. Time was ticking. Eventually I told my mechanic put the motor in since these guys were no help and I wasn’t left with many options with them besides getting another motor elsewhere so I took a chance. After taking it home I notice there was still light white smoke from the exhaust. I didn’t think anything of it since it was cold out. After a few days I noticed the coolant level was low and added more. Eventually I took off the oil cap and found out there’s milky residue underneath! At this point it was about my last day on my warranty. I’ve reached out to them twice and no answer! Hopefully it’s an easy fix but it’s looking like a bad head gasket. I have no choice but to chase this problem until it’s fixed.
Guys at the end of the day you are getting used products. If you have issues don’t expect much from this place. Better yet go somewhere else. Do your research before hand. Look up reviews (I wished I did before placing an order. I order from them due to YouTubers who bought in person.) I thought buying through them with warranty would also give me a peace of mind. I thought wrong. Save yourself the headache. You might have better luck at the junkyard. I would suggest buying in person and do your due diligence. Bring a starter and flywheel and battery to test compression.
I will not be doing business with this place again. Poor customer service and their warranty don’t mean nothing. Place is pathetic.
The engine really is like new. We opened the oil fill cap and looked inside - the engine looked brand-new. After installing it, we changed the oil and started it, and it ran very smoothly with a nice sound. I recommend this seller.
I am very happy with service JDM depot has provided the motor I ordered for my 2001 Toyota Corolla came in within 3 days of me ordering. I came fully wrapped with no damage. The motor came as in the pictures and as expected. Amazing service 10/10 would definitely recommend
Beware with this business I Bought a 2013 toyota prius engine cost $1000 and only last 1hr overheating, coolant in the pistons. I call and they want me to get the car to a ASE certificate to diag the engine ($290)and send copy and then pay for shipping ($300)to send the engine back and pay shipping ($300) again to send the another engine back total of $890 they scam people really good because the engine dont look like have 45 to 65 miles the engine look more like over 100000 miles before you buy read refund and read reviews really good
Customer service was excellent. The engine came in early that expected only I said I had was that the oil dipstick channel was bent/ broke and the dipstick was stuck but I just replaced it with the one on my old engine. The engine runs great after install!!!
Absolutely terrible customer service. Their website had me order the wrong engine, we had the other engine out when we discovered it would not fit. The person on the phone would not do anything to help me with their websites mistake. Then told me it was double the price I paid to get the right one in. Would not even help me with shipping. Likely a scam to get me to line their pockets. BEWARE! 1/10 recommend.
I bought an engine (came as advertised and the pictures were on point that the company sent) and the whole process was easy and smooth. Unfortunately I will not be able to test the engine until after the warranty ends but will post any updates.

Less than a year later, this engine is leaking from multiple points and needs over $1,000 in repairs. That’s completely unacceptable, used or not. A product that starts falling apart within months isn’t just “used,” it’s defective.

It’s been LESS than a year and parts of the engine are already failing. The engine, transmission and power steering fluid are leaking. I went to get it inspected and the PCV valve, VTEC solenoid, & valve cover gasket all need to be replaced costing me another $1,000+ dollars! I had my suspicions that it was leaking because of the puddle in my drive way 3 months after purchase. I don’t drive this car often, so my suspicions weren’t confirmed until I got a recent oil change & they told me of all the leaking happening. Never buying from here again, don’t make the same mistake I did.
Be careful buying from them, bring a borescope and inspect the best you can. The engine I purchased was junk. 45-65k miles is a joke lol I feel that they should have refunded me a portion of my money atleast considering the condition of this engine. Lesson learned but I wouldnt recommend them, spend your money somewhere else.

Scammed me out of $2400 plus $400 shipping Engine doesnt have 60k on it as stated, all gaskets have been changed with extra rtv all over the place. Looks like someone rebuilds these engines and posts them as less miles than actual miles. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS
I understand and read the warranty, if you read into it they protect them selfs from pretty much any possible bad outcome. And it MUST BE installed by a shop.
Being a one man team i only got this engine in past the 3 month warranty period, not everyone has 5 grand to give to a shop to swap an engine. THE ENGINE I BOUGHT KNOCKS. I called the company and explained that it looks like its been resealed, and it knocks. They said YEA NO and didnt wanna hear anything else. These guys are not fair in their buisness DO NOT BUY THESE ENGINES.
Sure the engine might be from japan but someone definitely messed with it. Wrong cam seals, extra rtv all over the place, missmatched bolts. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS
UPDATE took my valve covers off yesterday to inspect the cams. Passanger side exhaust cam is ruined which caused the knocking, ill attach pictures so judge for your self. Driver side has the cam holders order all mixed up. And one of the bolts is literally backed off, half the bolts holding the cams have washers and half dont. They all are not supposed to have washers. One bolt even has a double washer on it. Ill attatch pictures of all of it. It also seems that the engine has been washed, theres old oil build up in corners and everything else is clean. THESE ENGINES ARE NOT 60K OR 55K MILES AS THEY STATE. like ive said before someone REBUILTS trashed engines in japan and sends them here. If i ran my engine for any longer it would definitely blow up. Im scared to think of what could be in the bottom end. I pretty much have to trash this engine now.
UPDATE after the company answered my review. Firstly they gave me the wrong email. Then after going back and forth, they didn't want to work with me. They kept bringing up the warranty. On the one hand, it's understandable that the warranty is all they cling to, but when it comes to real customer care there isn't much there. Tried to make me sound stupid in the emails, but after I asked multiple times and explained the situation to the worker they seemed to get frustrated. After which they tried to blame another bad review they got, on me. Then they stopped replying. After all, they only responded to my review to look "better" in everyone else's eyes. They said, "We hope to have the opportunity to make things right". They definitely didn't take that opportunity... Scammers will stay scammers. In the end, they still pretty much told me to screw off. These people dont stand behind their own product, they made it my problem and cling to warranty. No care for their customers at all. Once again avoid at all costs
I have bought two Vq35hr motors from them. One March 3rd 2023 and October 9th 2023. Both motors for my 350z hrs. Both motors had 190+ compression, super clean and both still work to this day no issues. They are awesome and pretty chill. Super easy to buy from them. I was recommended by other z people who have bought from them in the past with no issues. I cannot comment on the other motors for different cars but the motors I have gotten have been amazing !
On 8/7/23 My Son and I purchased a Subaru Outback motor from JDM Engine depot in Bellville NJ for $899 plus $400 shipping, $1299. We received the motor and proceeded to inspect the motor and drain the oil to put fresh oil in, We had the motor on the engine stand and when the oil was drained we turned the motor over to inspect the bottom when we heard all this metal hitting the pan. We took the pan off and you can see in the photos the amount of metal in the engine. I understand that JDM buys the motors also to resell and the problem didn't start with them, it was them receiving a faulty motor also. After a few arguments with the management to no prevail. The owner Will stepped in and took care of everything including shipping for a full refund. He was great to talk to and work things out with. At least there are a few good people still out there. First of all thank God I called the shipment company today before expected delivery. The engine was being shipped to the wrong place. I had to rent a uhaul and drive 30 minutes to meet the driver and then was able to get the engine. Then, I get to the engine and it is just thrown all carelessly on the pallet.
