The person they use to buy catalytic converters should freshen up on what’s factory and aftermarket. Apparently desk lady “called” the guy after sending him a picture of the catalytic converter stated it was a aftermarket and offered 5 dollars when it was clearly a factory take off that was replaced. Lady also didn’t say anything when she called the guy just put the phone down and gave me the price. Try to get over on some one else
I’ve been taking scrap brass here for the last couple of years and always get the best price! As soon as I pull in, there is always an employee there to greet and help you offload your scrap.
There were two men ( I didn’t get their names ) but they made me very much enjoy my experience here. The first time I went to a scrap place, they made me feel stupid & didn’t help me very much despite it being my very first time at any scrap yard.
The guys at Sgt. Scrap made me feel welcome and unloaded my car for me, wheeled over all the scrap to the scale, and sorted it all for me. Even walked me through the registration process since it was my first time at this location. Very fair price and smooth process. Will definitely come here again & recommend.
Great place and great prices, word of advice, make sure you get there 20 minutes before they close because that’s usually when they shut the gate and then they won’t let you in
Been going to the yard for about 8 months or so due to proximity of my trip from a big window job Today I took a load of scrap and had an issue with the price they gave me on the product And not even an hour later the owner gave me a call and worked out the issue That was great customer service and he is a stand up guy for doing that. That is very honest owner of the business and I will use them whenever I have scrap.
I wish all scrap yards were like this. These guys are amazing. the yard was very clean the employees were very polite helpful and showed me little tricks to process my material and even helped me to process so i could make more money for what i had. There weights were right on point. The young lady at the window was so sweet she even thanked me for coming in and gave me a free shirt. The prices are the highest around for the stuff they buy.
Love this place
Got there at 4:40 and the gate was closed.
Schedule says close 5pm. I just had to drive from my home. Not cool. If you want to close earlier then make it 4:30 and you’ll be done before 5.
At 1st week of March 2021 wild high scrap prices. If you come here before the prices start to fall, you' ll be very happy with what you' ll get paid. EDIT: Since the original review above was posted 2 years ago, Sgt. Scrap has developed a reputation for cheating it's customers, which I have heard from multiple sources. They cheated me the last time I was there in paying a lower price for electric motors. Presently I wouldn't deal with them
Best prices for wire. Only sketchy thing about pennsauken location is when you go to weigh the wire. The digital scale isn’t very clear. With a place that gives you money based on the weight of your scrap, you would think they would fix this issue. It isn’t an issue on their hands but the customers because you can’t see what it actually weighs. Let’s correct this issue. I don’t have a problem besides this. Please correct your digital reader that the customer sees. It’s what an honest scrapper would do.
I have to say from the call I made to confirm they were open till the time I left , which by the way was 20 minutes after they should have closed , the staff was beyond pleasant. Criss separated wire with me to make sure the bigger cable was paid the better price. As far as the price I received...... 30+ years of scrapping wire it was the highest for the time of what copper was being paid by enough that it was worth the travel time it took to go the extra 30 minutes. Thumbs up to them.
I took a carload of assorted scrap metal to Sgt.Scrap, 610 Crescent Blvd, and it was a very good experience. They didn't hold it against me that I knew next-to-nothing about different types of metals. Wendell was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and also provided a good learning experience. The whole operation seemed very honest and trustworthy, and the pricing seemed very fair. I will definitely return should I have any more metal that need recycling.
I must say scrapping here is Such a pleasant experience The employees are so helpful. Theres a worker there named jay who helped me understand what I have and what’s the best way to separate my material to make more money. He was such an experienced helper. I will definitely be coming back to them.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was is a GREAT place to scrap the employees are surper nice very helpful. They off loaded my truck started seperating my stuff. I was confused i asked what they were doing the kid said sorting your material so we can pay you the most we can for what you have. Then explaind how i could upgrade my stuff to make more money
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!! Best place to scrap hands down even showed me how much the container weighed empty before he put my stuff in it.
This place couldn't be more helpful. They will actually unload your scrap, weigh it in front of you " without beating you up for every little item", and then pay you immediately following. Oh I forgot to add the fact that they have the highest payout in the area. Sgt. Scrap is #1 hands down.
honest company I check my weight from time to time on their scales and its always right on the money
Competitive on pricing too only place i'm bringing my wire from now on
Workers especially the Korean looking kid beat me out of money.. shorted me and then try to fight me screaming at me very unprofessional Meir fact I'll never go there again
