The base was great! It had the commissary, NEX, UPS store, restaurants, gym and track etc. What more could you ask for, right?...Working at Army Contracting Command, Fort Dix (Contracting) has been one of the worst life experiences imaginable. The workplace environment is completely toxic, and I wouldn't wish that on anybody. I would avoid them at all cost...you've been warned.
I lived there for a while but 3 to 2 years but there is trash all over the forest I even from sometimes found glass in the river that was eventually looked like over years had stopped flowing

McGuire Air Force Base was established as Fort Dix Airport in 1937 and first opened to military aircraft on 9 January 1941. On 13 January 1948 the United States Air Force renamed the facility McGuire Air Force Base in honor of Major Thomas Buchanan McGuire Jr., (1920–1945).
The 2025 Power in the Pines Open House & Air Show at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was a fantastic weekend event. It was well organized, featuring thrilling aerial performances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Wings of Blue, and various modern and heritage aircraft. The event offered a wide variety of food vendors and family-friendly activities, making it enjoyable for attendees of all ages. A truly memorable experience!

Spent a few hours there today 12/14/24 with my son and his family touring the C-17 decorated for Christmas. Had a chance to thank the area Wing commander.
Thanks for opening the base for Power in the Pines airshow. We had a great time despite the long lines. Great displays in the air and on the grounds. All the service members were helpful and efficient.
I was here for the Saturday edition of the Power in the Pines open house and airfest. Although the weather stunk and none of the flying displays couldn't perform for us due to FAA restrictions on bad weather flying, I still think they did a great job: giving the public opportunities to check out static displays most people never get a chance to see aside from airshows or those in uniform that work at the base, along with other activities that came as part of the festivities for their open house. I'll be back to try again with catching an airshow, but hopefully, I won't be getting waterlogged
Naf Hr Terrible and unprofessional. They are not completely honest during a hiring process. Poor communication between staff and employees. Extremely rude over the phone. I won’t go back ever!
Some of our countries BEST uniforms are stationed here. This base is pivotal to our nations security, especially being so close to NYC. Shout out to all the heroes putting in that work to keep "the machine well oiled", its not easy. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
I was very overwhelmed by my experience today on base. I went to get a Commissary card so that I can do my mom's grocery shopping and the run around that I got was exhausting. I had to take my my 83 year old mother to Fort Dix for this part of the process. Then we had to go to McGuire for other process and then I get to McGuire sit for 45 minutes and find out that they sent me to the wrong department. Just to much for my elderly mother. I didn't have to go through this process last year and I understand that we're going through a pandemic, but too much for our elderly parents. So I feel that you all should come up with a better solution.
We enjoyed the 2018 Power in the Pines Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Airshow. We arrived at about 2pm, so we missed the long lines of people waiting to get through the security checkpoints. But we were in time to see the F-22 Raptor demonstration - awe-inspiring! And the F-22 then flew with a P-51. Very cool.
I was on base to do repair work it really made me feel Proud to see our military doing there jobs . It took me back to when my son was serving. I send a big THANK YOU to all!!
Beautiful base, lots to do on base and in the surrounding area. The base is about 20 minutes from 6 Flags Great Adventure, maybe an hour from Dorney Park, and Hershey Park, & you're about 30-40 minutes from the Jersey shore beaches. Also, the cost of living in the area is very reasonable.
Beautiful area . And the folks who plan events for the Base really love and Support the Families who live there .
They do so much to make it a wonderful place to live.
They really go out of their way to offer FREE Events to the Families .
Poor people live near that base espetialy with kids! Around is so loud! I can imagine how loud inside that base! Planes flight even at evening after 10.
