When I went to get my car from these ppl my car was driving horrible the guy Steve even notice it and told me to go inside the office I told the big heavy guy who was at the front desk that my car wasn’t driving right and it was not like this before you guys towed my car of course they not going to admit but accidents happen come to find out who ever hooked my car hooked it the wrong way and drag my car and broke my tire rod guys please be carful with these guys karma always comes back to bite you. Ii had the pleasure of having Jose as my driver! Jose was the best,he was extremely experienced and made the job super quick and easy! I broke down on my way to school at 6:30 in the morning I was on the side of the highway when Jose showed up extremely quickly he made quick work of the car and took me to the mechanic shop!
I called AAA when I was having trouble with my car battery and they sent 5 star towing. The driver Ray showed up and he was able to figure out what was going on and get my car started again. After that, he followed me to my autobody shop to make sure I got there safely and then even offered to drive me home. He was a really good guy and a true gentleman. I’ve had many experiences with AAA, but I’ve never had experience with five star towing before. This was by far the best experience I’ve ever had! Very impressed with them!
My car wheel popped off and I was in a busy road with barely any room for cars to pass by. Luckily Angel was there to make it seem easy which was a relief because I was stressing something serious about my situation. He was able to park my car perfectly at the mechanic no problem. Daniel singlehandedly destroyed my motor, transmission, and staying wheel lock on my 04 VW Touareg even after explaining that timing was off. He got to drop off location and tried starting it several times and jerking it off the truck which blew out my park. Will roll down any grade now. I would tell the WORLD stay away from this Triple A (AAA) partner. They don't deserve a lick of business. This happened in April this year and I just got the company info recently. Still working nights and days to get my ENTIRE CAR SORTED NOW. I REPEAT DO NOT LET THEM TWO YOUR VEHICLE. I wish I could give negative -5 stars
Absolute scammers. A tow was called through AAA not directly. Demanded cash for tolls then took a route with no tolls. Refused to give a receipt at time of payment but would not hook the car up without payment.
I called the company for an itemized receipt and was told they do not provide that. Receptionist told me if I told her what I paid she would make a receipt for that amount. Absolutely insane.
The driver Christian was very nice & came very fast, but overall they’re scammers. 10/10 do not recommend. Call them at your own risk & prepare to be scammed.
Best tow experience I've ever had. Ray is the man!! Super friendly guy and his level of professionalism is bar none. He was challenged with a shut down Sierra 1500 in a very tight spot for a long flat bed to maneuver out of. His experience and skill was definitely proven. Normally, drivers would be cranky when facing obstacles like this but he was optimistic and positive. That's exactly what you want to see when your brand new $75k truck has to be towed back to the dealership. Hope this sums it up for anyone looking for a company that knows what they're doing.

Five Star Towing assisted my daughter with her car today. She was in the process of moving in to school, when her vehicle stopped in the middle of a campus road. Ray, a supervisor, assisted with the tow back to our home town 15 miles away. He was professional and courteous, and willing to help a student in distress. I highly recommend Five Star for any future towing, and appreciate the level of service received.
I had a flat tire after attending a baby shower at the Brownstone in Paterson. Greg K responded very quickly and went the extra mile to repair/make sure my spare was safe to drive on. He was friendly and very helpful. I would recommend Five Star again for their prompt and helpful service.

5 Star Auto Service damaged my car during a tow and REFUSED to compensate. DO NOT USE 5 Star Auto Service. They caused nearly $4,000 worth of damage to my vehicle during a routine tow and then completely refused to take responsibility. A tow truck driver named John, contracted through AAA, came to tow my car. While he was hooking it up, my husband witnessed him dragging and damaging the underside of the vehicle. We even took photos as it happened. When my car was returned, the damage was obvious: the grill, front bumper, and undercarriage were wrecked. I called AAA, who told me I had to deal directly with 5 Star. That's where things got even worse. I spoke with a woman named Valerie, who was shockingly rude and dismissive. She sarcastically said she'd "see what she could do" and then immediately said, "We will not do anything." When I asked to speak to a manager or owner, she told me they were "retired" and "come in whenever they want." I never got a call back. When I followed up a week and a half later, she repeated the same line that they would not fix my car because "too much time had passed," despite the fact that I had called immediately after the damage occurred. The entire exchange felt like they just didn't care at all about the harm they caused. If you care about your car or want to be treated with even basic respect, stay far away from this company. They should not be entrusted with a tricycle, let alone a vehicle.
My daughter and I had a blow out tire in front of Oasis Haven for Women and Children in Paterson while dropping off a donation.
Luis was super friendly and efficient. He changed the tire quickly and gave us great advice on how to safely drive the vehicle with a spare tire.

My car wouldn’t start due to the starter at 12 AM in the morning So I called AAA and they sent me Ron from Five Star Towing. He was extremely helpful, and my car was very taken care of, he also helped move my car and park it all safely. I used to have a bad experience with this company, including my friends and family, however, the individual who helped me today made me rethink this company. It was extremely nice and helpful.

Ray showed up quickly and helped me when my truck blew a transmission cable. He knew enough to get under the car and pop the car in gear so i could limp it to the garage.

Got a low tire warning in Elmwood NJ , driving from CT to PENN. AAA sent FIVESTAR quickly, even though I did not know where I was. Jose, the driver was kind and reassuring, He directed me to a tire place to double check the tires . Both places were great! Highly recommend them, should you need a tow and help!

5 Star Auto Service lost my car key and refused to compensate.
On February 18, 2025 [this was actually 2024], a tow truck driver from 5 Star Auto Service (a contractor for AAA) came to provide service for my car. He asked for my car keys, which I immediately gave him. He used my keys to start my car, and after getting out, asked me to show him my insurance, ownership documents, and registration, as well as my driver's license. I provided the title and license, but I couldn't show proof of insurance. After carefully examining my documents, he told me that he couldn't assist me without proof of insurance. So the service was canceled. He returned my driver's license and title, but failed to return my car keys.
The next day, I tried to find another towing company to take my car to be sold. While preparing all the documents and items for selling my car, I realized that one of my keys was missing. I searched my entire house but couldn't find it. I suddenly realized that the driver hadn't returned my keys to me.
I immediately called him, and he said he didn't remember returning the key to me. I asked him if he could look for it, but he said he was working out of the office and couldn't go back to check. I told him that if he didn't find it now, it would be pointless even if he found it later because I was about to sell the car. He said there was nothing he could do.
So I immediately contacted AAA to report the issue. AAA said they would get back to me, but I never received a response. Later, I followed up with AAA again and informed them that the dealer quoted me $500 plus tax for a new key. However, I still received no response.
In May, I contacted AAA again. After verifying what happened, AAA told me to contact 5 Star Auto Service directly for compensation. However, 5 Star Auto Service shamelessly claimed that they never provided any service to me and, since three months had already passed, they wouldn't provide any compensation because I couldn't provide proof. In fact, I contacted the driver the day after I lost my keys and also contacted AAA, but they kept delaying and trying to brush me off. I really did lose $533!
I tried to contact the driver to request compensation. Three months ago, he admitted that he didn't remember returning my car keys to me. Now he won't even answer my calls. This company is really shameless.

My husband had a flat tire this past Tuesday evening. He didn't want to change it in the rain, so he called AAA, and it took 3 hours to get 5 Star to arrive. When they arrived, something was wrong with the winch, so the operator attempted to drive the car up onto the flatbed with a flat. (*Note the flat was a brand new tire we just got installed last Thursday at BJs. We had hazard on it and we were simply going to get it replaced for free*) The operator spun the wheel out 3 times trying to get the car up and my husband and autistic daughter stood in the rain and smelled the horrible smell of the burning rubber. Then he attempted to put wood in front of the back tires for traction? And spun the wheels again throwing the board approx 50-100 feet behind the car. Thank God no people or other cars were there! In this process, of getting it up in this fashion, he broke the hub, the caliper and brakes ripped off the hub, and the rim broke. Pictures below show the broken rim and the winch obviously not connected. Another tow driver from the company had to come hours later while they all sat there in the rain with umbrellas ( thankfully) to get a functioning flatbed. They told him to contact Mike the next day so he could "make things right." He left a message which was never returned and then filed a case with AAA.
I then called 5 Star myself, on Friday, ironically from the hospital (since Wednesday). I asked for a manager and was told by Louie he WAS the manager. I spoke to him about the incident, and was basically told in no uncertain terms my husband was obviously the bad driver who broke his own rim, caliper, and brakes. He said the other stuff never happened and it was our word against the tow operator's. I pointed out this whole thing he was doing was basically very shady. He disagreed and told me to take it up with AAA. I explained that I am disabled in a wheelchair and our source of transportation is taken from me. I asked if they have any shame for what they are doing, and he said that while he feels sympathy for my plight, it was still his operator's word against my husband's. His tone through this was arrogant. He ended up not saying goodbye or anything. He simply hung up on me. I reported him and the whole business to AAA, asking if this was who they wanted representing their organization between the incident to begin with and the follow-up phone call. The AAA rep said it was not. I hope they follow through.
Another note. We are family friends with a person who recently worked as a tow truck driver at 5 Star and were told Louie is a DISPATCHER and not a manager? Unless he was recently promoted, why would he lie?
I had an excellent experience with Five Star Towing, and Michael did a fantastic job! He efficiently towed my car to the nearest tire shop and even gave me a ride there. He encouraged me to speak with the technicians while he unloaded my car from his truck, which helped save time since I had an important meeting to get to. Best of all, there was no paperwork involved. Michael truly deserves an A+ for his outstanding service!
just want to give a rave review where it is deserved! my car wouldn’t start and needed tow from my driveway to repair shop. i was so pleased with the tow man’s (brandon?) courtesy and attention to handling my car. he was fast friendly and very efficient. give this guy a raise! or a bonus!!!
