This company doesn’t even deserve one star — more like -100,000. My semi-truck got stuck in the mud at a service plaza less than 2 miles from their office. All they did was pull us out, didn’t tow or transport us anywhere (not even 10feet), and still charged $1,061.03! That’s outrageous for a simple pull-out.
When I called the company to inquire about the charge, the person on the phone was very rude and condescending, showing no professionalism or concern for customer service.
They took advantage of the situation, provided minimal help, and left us with a huge bill. Avoid this company at all costs — they’re unprofessional, overpriced, and a complete waste of time. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
Did not request any service from Tumino, but had the absolute, most disgusting interaction with a driver yesterday evening on Main Street in Ridgefield Park. I pulled into a parking spot (tow truck is behind me) and the driver would not stop honking his horn at me. I pull into a parking spot to get my food from a local restaurant. I come out to my car and the driver blocked my car in. All because he was trying to signal with his hands that he wanted my spot (mind you truck is behind me). The driver proceeds to block my car in so I am unable to get out. He blocked the street so that all the cars passing by had to drive around him. He did this all because he went to Dunkin Donuts to get a cup of coffee! He screamed disgusting profanity at me over a parking spot that I had the right to park in. I called the company to express my concern, and they seem unbothered by their employee speaking this way to a woman! I would never recommend this company to anybody. For anyone to allow their employees to speak to any person, especially a woman, is beyond disgusting, disgraceful and horrendous.
I am attaching a photo of how the truck illegally parked and blocked the street just so the driver could run into the store to get coffee. I had to maneuver my way out, but I parked in the spot directly in the front. He intentionally blocked me as a threat and to scare me off. Absolutely disgusting behavior.
The biggest crooks on the plant pure price gouging they hit me with charges I've never heard of, my God I'm reporting them everywhere possible my car was told not even a Mile at 11pm the next day my bill was$653.00 a regular car nothing special how is this possible I had no choice but to pay the bill because they would not release my car, I'm calling news 7 on your side the bbb and ever other agency. This is illegal I wont stop because I was purly robbed.
Gave a price of $200 once they had already towed it raise the price to almost $400 and threatened to impound the truck in their yard if it wasn't paid. Scum.
Got my car impounded (not fun), the man I spoke to was so helpful and genuinely tried to make my life easier. First time ever getting a ticket/towed so I was in tears; the guy on the phone was very kind to me and made sure my car was dropped off and waiting for me after hours because I needed it urgently. 10/10 customer service even tho the price was sooooo crazy lol.
They charged me $3,000 for a tow truck for 5 miles. Everyone in the office is angry, they have their own payment system that charged an additional $90 for some incomprehensible site fee. They don't accept any other transfers. They're just scammers!
My van broke down and Tuminos came to pick me up. Being unfamiliar with the area, they towed me to their garage on THEIR recommendation then denied taking my van upon arrival. They charged me the full amount for the tow and I then had to call a second company to tow me back to a garage that was walking distance from where I broke down.
Only one person was very helpful, wish I could remember his name. He deserves a 5 star rating. The owner cares for nothing but his wallet and is very rude ! Where I come from, we would call his attitude little man's syndrome .

After pulling in for a trailer DOT inspection, I asked a your driver where to check in at... "Well the procedure is step one, park in the street, step two check in in the front."
So item one, this is New Jersey and unless there is a sign saying that street parking is okay OR when I called for directions someone had TOLD ME to park along the street, I gladly would have.
I'm sorry I don't have that snarky New Jersey accent that says "AYA I'M TRYNA TO DRIVE OVER HYAERE."

I went to this place to pickup my vehicle after It was towed. I wasn’t there when they towed my vehicle so I nicely asked how the vehicle was towed and if it was winched properly onto the bed. I have an AWD car so I was worried it was towed improperly and damaged which has happened to me before.
I heard one of the workers there named “Jimmy” in the employees only room talking badly about me and making fun of my simple question for wanting to know how the vehicle was towed.
I called him out and he then came to my face and started yelling and talking badly again. Very unprofessional behavior from him, I expect him to be fired for the poor customer service. I need their management to take corrective action over his poor behavior.
If you are going to talk badly about a customer and make fun of them at least do it when they leave and not while they are still there trying to conduct business.

Very helpful during a stressful time. Explained patiently what needed to be done for AAA reimbursement. Professional and courteous. Awesome response time during bad weather. Everyone dreads having to call for a tow while stranded on the side of the road. Tumino's made it a little less of a headache.
This “business” is the most rude, unprofessional, obnoxious nasty place I have ever gone into. The older man that was “helping” us was literally cursing at customers over the phone and in store. He literally physically shoved at our tow truck driver as he passed him. I’ve never been more horrified or seen more abuse in a business facility. It was unlike anything I’d ever seen before, in the worst way. It’s shocking that they have a single customer. I know they don’t have repeat clients. That I can guarantee.
Picked up a trailer for one of our customers, drove from North Carolina all night and picked it up early in the morning the people working were very helpful and friendly I appreciate all the help they offered.
Due to the circumstance of my friend’s car it was unfortunate it was towed but we did receive great customer service from the first receiver through the final bill payment. Their customer service was great and easy. They offer a payment via online to simplify things for some as well.
The best in the business I have ever dealt with. Towed my truck off the NJturnpike to there shop and had a new fuel tank in place an me back on the road in 2 days!!! These guys are awesome and go above and beyond to help!!
Heavy wrecker responded to the turnpike service area about half hour faster than expected. The operator was extremely professional and went the extra mile to try and find parts to get me going that night. Quick professional service with knowledgeable and motivated operators and mechanics
Vinny/Vincent helped me out thee other day. The man was quick, responsible and honest. Helped me get off the road in a fast but safe manner. He offered me advice on what I can do in my situation and was incredibly personal/friendly. He turned a bad situation into a positive one real fast. If I ever break down on the garden state parkway again I'm requesting VINNY. (Not financial advice)
Stefan was so kind to us when he came to save us on the freezing NJ Turnpike! One of my front tires was shot so we had pulled over on the shoulder. He had the good idea to tow the car to Mavis where our car could be thoroughly assessed the next day. But then he tried and successfully put on my spare tire at my request. Luckily we had the tools for that when TT did not - that was the only issue in terms of having all necessary equipment on hand. But all is well that ends well. Thanks TT and Stefan!
So we broke down on the turnpike at 1am. It took them about 30 minutes from when we called to arrive and load the car onto the truck which we were very satisfied with. The driver was very kind, helpful, and professional. I’m leaving a 4 star rating because we informed the driver of the reason for the tow being it was the transmission it’d make sense to take us to a shop that could help. He ended up dropping us off at a tire shop who couldn’t help whatsoever. It was kind of disappointing that we paid 160 dollars to be taken to the wrong place. We aren’t familiar with this area so had no idea where we needed to be. Other than that the service was great.
After running over a nail, while turning to go up a hill in today’s sleet-hail storm I called my roadside assistance to help with my tire. Unfortunately they were incredibly backed up with service calls they couldn’t give me an ETA after waiting for 30 min. I decided to give Tumino’s a call! Not only was the rep on the phone reassuring, honest, and polite. The service man arrived earlier than projected! I waited about 40minutes which was great as I had my toddler with me. Was back on the road in minutes. The price to put my tire on (in the storm mind you) was reasonable. Thank you to Fred and the rep who answered my call.
Our service was outstanding. The technician guided us through the tire changing process professionally. It was dangerous on the GS parkway and he made sure we were safe. The response time was amazingly quick. And he was super friendly and followed us to the next exit to get the tire repaired. Great job!
These guys are awesome. After our accident these guys were so helpful. We're from out of state so we knew nothing about the area. They recommended a hotel in a safe area and they even gave us a ride to the hotel. I highly recommend them. Thank you so much for your kindness, Tumino's Towing!
