Overpeck County Park is a fantastic spot for a day outdoors! It is very dog-friendly with plenty of paved paths for walking, and the playground areas are modern and expansive. Having accessible restrooms throughout the park is a major convenience. A solid 4-star destination for families and pet owners.

I love this park. Big, beautiful and well kept. We attended Japanese festival this weekend... what a wonderful event even though the rain tried to ruin it! We ate great food, saw nice performances and echoed the day. July 4th is also memorable... highly recommended

It's a nice park, I went there for soccer practice. The field is turf, they also have a boat house. They also have a playground for kids and restroom. Wait, there is a Tesla charging station there too.

I’ve been to Overpeck County Park a few times, but my favorite visits have definitely been during their special events, especially the Fall Festival and Earth Day celebrations. The park really comes alive on those days with music, food, and families everywhere. It feels festive without being overcrowded, and it’s such a nice way to enjoy the outdoors. On regular days, it’s a great spot for a peaceful walk or bike ride, with plenty of open space and water views that make it feel relaxing. Parking can get a little hectic during events, so I recommend getting there early. It’s one of those parks that’s just as good for a quiet afternoon as it is for big community gatherings, always a nice place to come back to.

We came here for the weekend from Manhattan with the family, and it turned out to be a perfect day trip. The drive was quick, and once we arrived, the park felt spacious and calm. The kids loved the big playgrounds, and we spent a good part of the morning just walking the paved trails by the water. Everything looked clean and well-kept, and there were plenty of spots to stop for a picnic. In the afternoon, we rented kayaks and paddled on the lake — the kids had a blast seeing turtles and ducks up close. There are also sports fields and open lawns where families were playing soccer and throwing frisbees. It felt very safe, with lots of families around, and the bathrooms and parking were convenient. We stayed until evening, and the best part was watching the sunset by the water together. The colors over the lake made the day feel complete. Overall, not a flashy place, but if you want a full day outdoors with children, it’s easy, relaxing, and everyone comes home happy.

★★★★★ A True Gem of Bergen County! Overpeck County Park is an absolute treasure, and it's easy to see why it's a 5-star destination for me and my family. This park truly has something for everyone, making it the perfect escape without having to travel far. The sheer size of the park is impressive, with beautifully maintained walking and biking paths that wind around the serene lake, offering stunning views no matter the season. The playground areas are fantastic—spacious, clean, and filled with a variety of equipment that keeps kids of all ages entertained for hours. We especially love the splash pad in the summer; it's a great way to cool off. The dog park is another huge plus, providing a safe and friendly space for our furry friends to play. What really sets Overpeck apart is the variety of activities available. Whether you're into kayaking on the creek, playing a round of tennis, or just finding a quiet bench to read on, you can do it all here. The soccer and baseball fields are always in great condition, and it's a joy to watch local games. The park is always clean, and it feels incredibly safe and welcoming. The staff does an amazing job maintaining the grounds, and it’s clear they take pride in this space. Overpeck County Park is more than just a park—it's a vibrant community hub and a peaceful retreat all in one. We feel so lucky to have such a wonderful resource right in our own backyard. Highly, highly recommend a visit!

This county park is beautiful, with lots of greenery and the Hackensack river running on the side. great place for kayaking in the summer, great peaceful views and a long flat path for biking riding, rollerblading, running or just simple walking. This park has an amphitheater for festivals, 4th of July fireworks, carnivals, mini concerts, or other events. Along with soccer fields, tennis and paddleball courts, a big playground for children. Along with lots of parking and several restroom areas. Large areas to sunbath, picnic, and even fly kites!

Beautiful park well maintained. Smooth paths, nice for biking just wish it were larger. The runners can be annoying despite having paths, they run in the street against traffic and dont move. They'll gladly see you get hit by a car then move.

I grew up in PAL Park and spent every summer at the pool for 20 years! Coming back decades later was a great experience. Clean and enjoyable. Worth the $20 bucks!

A beautiful day at Overpeck County Park. We came here a few years ago, returned today to explore more of the park than our first visit. There are trails, tracks, fields, a big playground, huge space to explore what the park has to offer. We live so close by, we will take more of an opportunity to explore more.

Overpeck County Park has quickly become one of my favorite hangouts for bird and wildlife photography in Bergen County, New Jersey. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes when humans don't develop locations for housing and commercial, but instead to help reclaim nature. What was once a garbage dump (landfill) is now a thriving ecosystem for flora and fauna. One moment you can be flying a kite the next you're observing multiple bald eagles flying overhead. You can kayak and fish in the summer, you can jog or walk the many paved pathways, and you can even catch a concert in June through August. For wildlife and nature enthusiast... Especially photographers, bring extra batteries and SD cards because you're gonna need it. The amount of birds that you will find is unbelievable. There's plenty of parking, clean, bathrooms, and even charging stations for your car. Enjoy.!

Overpeck County Park is a great place, whether lonely or with loved ones. It's an incredible place to go sightseeing or socialize. It has bird-watch outings, fishing and kayaking, seeing horses and or equestrians, or getting pertained to some recreational activities such as soccer and tennis, golfing, baseballs, volleying, cricketing, enthralling in kiting or going on a hike, flying RC planes or flying drones in nonrestricted areas if you're an enthusiast and enjoy the view! It has a massive playground for all sports and is dog-friendly. It has restrooms and large picnic areas for extracurricular activities, as well as festivities. And it has a Jurassic Park out-of-plain sight until you search for all the thoracic creatures you've read about and know.

One of my favorite public parks around the area I currently reside at. It’s great in size with many different activities you can do from walking, reading a book, kayaking, picnics, or just a lay low time with friends and family or even just yourself. There are many functions that happen at the park through out the year. Just an fyi you do not need a permit in order to kayak if you have one. There’s specific areas you can go to within the park to enjoy beautiful views. My favorite one is on the little bridge by the entrance after the first roundabout. The bride has two benches for you to relax on. The bathrooms are so clean compared to other park restrooms. The park is so clean. The security guard there is very friendly and is willing to answer all your questions.

Weather you’re seeking a quick getaway, exercise, or just need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city this park should be on the top of your list! There are many trails to walk at a leisurely pace, places to ride your bicycles, Tennis courts and large open spaces for just about anything your mind can conceive. If you want it cool place with skyline views of New York City without leaving New Jersey this is the place to go.

This park is so open and well planned. There are walkways that take you next to the river and into wooded areas. There are lots of places for families to hang out. It's a great opportunity to get out into nature, while socially distanced in the fresh air!!

Wonderful spacious park with places to run, for sports and to watch the open sky with sunset. Good place for social gatherings with enough space in between people during pandemic (end of June phase 2 currently). Always friendly people sharing a smile.

It’s a really nice park with plenty to do. There is a playground with a huge bet and trampoline and also amptheator here many events take place. A overall 5 mile walk way with two parts. There is also a basket ball court on the old side and tennis court on both new and old. Also a pickle ball court and soccer field. A really nice park

The place is a bit drab in the winter, but it's relatively clean and not particularly crowded. There is unfortunately trash near the ponds, but it didn't smell bad. Still sad to see litter in such a nice park. If you're just getting into running, this is a great place to try because it's quite flat. The view of the water is nice. Also there is a barn with a bunch of horses you can visit. The horses are friendly and seem to well-cared for.
