Just FYI, Please do not go here to do amazon trade in. No one knows how to do it or they would tell you there is problem with access. Every time I go they would tell you to come when the next shift and same thing all over again. Have no idea why this place is designated amazon trade in drop off when no one knows how to do it. Amazon should take them off the list. Intend to complain to amazon as well.

Worst Whole Foods I have ever been to. Just finished a "pork" carnita but the pork was awol, it was bean paste and rice. Ditto for the chicken burrito. Milk is always a few days from the expiration date. Shelves are typically empty. Amazon return person is misery anthropomorphized. Hot food is the same crap every day. They used to have 2 types of spinach spanakopita - round and square. The round was delicious. The square is disgusting. So their solution? Get rid of the round spanakopita. I'm serious, the square one is inedible. tastes bitter, just weird altogether. This sucks because I live in Edgewater. But the quality control in this store is nonexistent.

Love, love, LOVE their prepared foods! And I love how sincerely friendly and helpful the employees seem to be! Downside: they don't sell wine, which was somewhat disappointing. However, the Paramus location, thank goodness, does.

My go to place in the neighborhood for good produce grown in the USA. More organic than any other grocery store nearby. Employees have never been rude or disrespectful.

Every time that I go to this location there is an Amazon employee who handles the returns that is completely unpleasant doing his job. I understand that people have bad days but every time I see him, he just comes across completely miserable handling the returns and doing his job. He doesn’t even bother answering if you say hi to him and for sure is an awful representation for Amazon and Whole Foods.
The whole foods store manager was nice and professional but unfortunately they are not their direct employees. I hope his supervisor reads this review and addresses his behavior. The employee that I am referring about refused to give me his name and was not wearing a name tag but I believe he is Asian, overweight and with a long hair; just for you to know who I am referring about.Oct 22, 2025 -
Nice store but got a salad today and truly was disappointed salad felt 3 days old. cheese tasted off. just terrible i paid $10 for a bad salad.

Around 1 p.m. on October 10th, Friday was not too busy, but a tall young employee asked me to put 12 oysters in ice, and he annoyedly said it would take an hour. The staff training is really wrong.

My kids love pizza from whole foods and picking them up from extracurricular activities we go straight to get pizza but it’s just impossible to get whole pies during dinner. Few day’s back went there just before 7.30 pm and they refused to make a fresh one because they shut at 7.30 pm and suggested I take a slice which look so dried up. I went there again at 6.50 they again refused to make a whole pie because they are closed. You guys really need to get a manager who can speak up to the rules and regulations to the employees. Very very frustrating

Went shopping here tonight for my weekly groceries. Picked up a salmon steak from the seafood section, but after checkout I realized it was labeled as “yellowfin tuna steak.” I went to customer service to fix it, and even after relabeling it was still wrong. When I went back to the seafood counter, the staff actually asked me, “You’re not lying to me, right?”
I was honestly shocked and upset to be accused of lying over a mistake clearly made by the store. Totally unprofessional and disrespectful experience.Oct 07, 2025 -
I used to love Whole Foods, but this location has been consistently frustrating - and I’ve truly reached my limit.
1. Constantly empty shelves. Many times I’ve visited, essential items like fresh produce, milk, meat, and other basics are simply out of stock. It’s shocking how frequently the shelves are half-empty.
2. Expired products on the shelves. I have personally found expired items multiple times. Once, I even told a staff member that many products on a shelf were expired - and when I returned a week later, those same expired items were still there. I ended up removing them myself and handing them to an employee, who looked completely indifferent.
3. Unsanitary practices at the hot food area. I once witnessed a cleaning staff member spraying disinfectant directly on the glass barrier - while food was sitting right below it. It’s unacceptable to ignore the risk of contamination like that.
4. Spoiled chicken and awful customer service. The final straw was buying a whole packaged chicken that reeked when I opened it - and this was before the sell-by date. I called the store and was told I could get a refund on my next visit. But when I returned, the customer service guy rolled his eyes and asked, with a condescending tone, “Did you bring the chicken?”
• Obviously, I didn’t keep a rotten chicken sitting in my house for a week - why would anyone do that?
• He then said I should have come back the same day, as if he knew anything about my schedule or whether I even had transportation that day.
• And when I pointed that out, he suggested I could have put the chicken in a Ziploc bag - as if everyone just happens to have a giant Ziploc bag to hold an entire chicken.
Not only did I lose the dinner I had planned to cook, but the spoiled chicken stank up my entire kitchen. And instead of an apology or any empathy, I was met with eye-rolling and a dismissive attitude - an unacceptable response from a store that claims to care about quality and customer experience.
This is by far the worst Whole Foods I’ve ever visited - and that’s deeply disappointing coming from a brand I used to trust and love.Sep 29, 2025 -
I’m very concerned about a meal I purchased from Whole Foods edgewater earlier today around 5 pm. I ate a meal. I got very sick, bad stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. I’ve always trusted your food, but this experience was terrible and honestly scary. I hope you take this seriously and check what might have caused it.

Although I no longer live in this area, I often drive to this location just for their fresh smoked salmon salad! The only location that I know of that has a smoker in house!! Clean store, outgoing and helpful staff.
Update: 9/4/25 Made a special trip for smoked salmon (and smoked salmon salad) and was informed they no longer make it.Sep 04, 2025 -
Change your eggs. I got spoiled eggs unfortunately on two separate occasions. Bought them end of August and expiration was July. Wow. This shouldn’t have to be said and I’d expect more from a place like Whole Foods.

I have been coming here for over 20 years , it's beautifully located by the water. It's always clean and has a huge selection of foods and drinks to choose from. I love grabbing a drink and walking by the water. Prices are a little high on most items but I guess it's because of the location. The Amazon fresh deals are decent. The hot food and salad bar has an excellent selection to choose from.

I love coming here because they always have fresh products, but let’s talk about the cakes. God!!! They are SO delicious! I can’t get enough!

Today I saw lovely flowers, the price was all low. Sadly as my family got to the cashier they told us the flowers cost $40. We asked how it’s possible when all the other prices are $10 to $11 dollars for the flowers. The lady said that there’s was a mistake with the price, it is important to place price on every item but that one trying to scam people on buying expensive flowers which were all ready dying. It was a disappointment visit to this food market but we understand it’s not the employee fault but management.

>>>>>>OVERCHARGED AGAIN!!!
Watch your receipts! This place overcharges on the regular. Haven't been here in months. Stop in for THREE things get overcharged on TWO!
BEZOS' FRAUD FOODS
This Whole Foods is a sad shell of the great store it once used to be. Thanks Amazon! I used to be a die hard shopper here but not anymore. I stopped in this week for three items and they were out of ALL three! Unbelievable. Shelves are poorly stocked all of the time now. See my pics. Not an isolated problem, it's like this every time I stop in. On top of that, the now use GMOs in their baked goods. Whole Foods using GMOs? I never thought I'd see the day. Thanks Amazon! Go to Trader Joe's. Cheaper. Fully stocked shelves. And they have a no-GMO policy.Feb 08, 2025 -
I’ve been to many whole good before but this is one of my favorite. The flower selection is great the fruits and veggies are always a fantastic choice and I never have a problem trying to find anything. The staff is super helpful and always helps me when I have questions about a new product. My only problem I have is that the hot food doesn’t have a great choices or options. I usually don’t go there for there hot food though so it’s not a big deal for me but I would definitely come back to shop there!

worst Whole foods in the area. Fresh veggie dept never restocks and labels properly. i go out of my way to Paramus Whole Foods just to avoid this one.

Garbage. All the fruits were empty and it was 3pm. Everyone looked miserable and was just standing around the empty isles. I was really shocked because the weehawken location is night and day, always stocked and there’s someone who can get the item that’s empty. One girl said “if it’s not there, it ain’t there.
I’ll avoid this location any and every time.Jul 22, 2023 -
Another one of my favorite marketplaces. They’re always stocked with fresh produce and groceries. The inside is well-organized and laid out, and it’s very clean. Love the beautiful array of flowers whenever you walk in.

Beautiful store! Exceptionally clean and well stocked. The employees definitely care about appearance here because every aisle looks straight out of a Whole Foods advertisement. My cashier was really friendly.

My favorite place to get a strawberry shortcake and almond cookies. There’s self checkout, hand sanitizer, carts, and baskets. Plenty of natural products and food. The cake is the best Im not even kidding. I tend to not like cake, but the cake from here is rich, smooth, spongey, with fresh strawberries.

Individuals abuse the express checkout too much. The woman pictured had about 30 items in her cart and still went thru the clearly marked "5 items or fewer" line. So obnoxious.
This place is easy to miss when driving south on River Rd. Tight parking lot.
Nice staff though.Feb 11, 2021 -
This supermarket sits right on the waterfront of the Hudson River in Edgewater, New Jersey. Since Amazon bought the chain, the prices have been better but to get some food here you still have to dig into your pockets. The plus, good, clean quality food although you can now buy the same brands that any other supermarket sells but in Whole Food, the price would be around 10% to 15% more than any one else. Now as Amazon you can get some good Prime deals. Store has plenty of parking and the location is also good. A USDA Certified Organic grocer in the United States, the chain is popularly known for its organic selections. Whole Foods has 500 stores in North America and the United Kingdom as of March 4, 2019.

Such a great location, ok Hudson riverfront with NYC in view.
Parking is ample and free.
Very clean and also has food bar. You can also get freshly squeezed orange juice here.
Checkout lines are not long here since they have multiple checkout counters open.Oct 07, 2019 -
Whole Foods is my favorite place to get organic and quality food. However at this Edgewater location seems like complaints never reach Managment. The hot bar is a mess. No variety everyday the same stuff which I believe is kinda reheated and put back the next day.
At 3 PM I ask if you guys will be adding anything, they always tell me “oh sorry that’s it”.
Nothing interesting in here. Everyday same old bland stuff.Jun 20, 2019 -
I recommend this store. We haven't shopped here for awhile, didn't even realize there had been a floor plan renovation. We stopped going to Whole Foods for many reasons, last year. I walked in today and, WOW!!!
The flow into and through the produce area was fantastic. The merchandise is now displayed in logical order and the aisles very clean, faced and shopable. There seems to be more staff now, cheery and helpful, and the same great food choices still exist but now priced at realistic levels.
I used to shop here out of necessity because this brand offered specific food items in a quality not available elswhere. I can still accomplish all of that here but now, at reasonable prices and with a more convenient and pleasurable shopping experience. Thank you and thanks for the Prime benefits.Mar 31, 2019
