I have gone to them 3 times. My first 2 times the person i spoke to on the phone was always rude for no reason. I figured what ever I know customer service can be hard. This last time was actually a pleasant conversation on the phone. The problem comes in that they had 4 hours to pull the part (20 minute job) and know I was coming from almost 2 hours away yet they couldn't even let me know that the part they had turned out wasnt good and I waisted 4 hours for nothing.
Purchased and installed an engine to find out engine is bad,they gave me the run around for about a week, very sarcastic,smart mouth and unprofessional people, I will never purchase from this company again,will see them in court,$1,300.00 is hard earned and cannot believe this is how a company treat their customers,very sorry I ever did business with this company.
Very friendly and helpful people work there. They were able to fulfill the request of my wife and I and at the same time were very accommodating. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you very much Darren! Kind regards from the Swiss couple
I bought a motor for my car through General, first they took longer to deliver than what I was told, I was also told that the motor comes with a 6 month warranty, also the harness and alternator are both junk and Tanner doesn’t seem to care to much. He told me those just came on it and they’re aren’t part of the warranty.I actually got a wise remark saying if I didn’t like it then he would just come pick up the motor. Let’s keep digging and see what else I can find wrong with this. Maybe next time I’ll deal with a supervisor directly
New staff is not knowledgeable in parts or pricing. Given one price then go today and different guy almost doubles the price in five minutes wasting my time fuel and a hour drive.the more new faces this place has the worst it gets and less I'll do and refer business to them. Should have to honor quotes given.i guess bow salvage is in my future from now on.
Another great example of the potential Claremont has. The staff are helpful and honest. I love seeing business such as this that are truly invested in the community and it's members!
Searched nationwide to find a SAAB 9-3 6 speed transmission. Spoke with Ashley and her phone etiquette was exceptionally professional. She sold me a transmission, gave me a shipping date and provided a tracking number. It arrived on time and was in good condition. She is a standard setter on how to communicate over the phone. Thanks

I was very impressed with the service I received from Scott. General Auto Salvage was one of two salvage yards in New England (I believe) that had the part I needed. Within two hours of our phone conversation, Scott had taken the part off the car and called me to confirm it was available. I had planned to drive from Manchester (about an hour’s travel time) to pick it up but with COVID-19 and life in general, things are ever changing. When I realized I wouldn’t be able to get there today (Monday) as agreed, I called Scott and he was more than happy to ship the part to me. I spoke to him at 1:40 on Monday afternoon and he said he’d be able to ship my part THIS afternoon! Thank you, Scott! I will gladly recommend General Auto Salvage to anyone who’ll listen.
Great friendly service from both the parts counter and warehouse/shop personnel. Very fair prices. I purchased a transaxle and it was in great shape, clean, and fully ready for transport.
I was looking for a part... I called up this place and they had the part... They charged me $50.... I later realized in the same day that I picked up the part that I actually didn't need the part after all... I called up General Auto Salvage and asked them if I could return the product and get my money back... And they did exactly that... Which I thought was very impressive considering they went through the time and effort to get it out of the car for me, and then I didn't even use it... and they still gave me my money back.... I recommend going here for anyone that wants exceptional service and want to deal with people who are genuinely nice.
I dropped off my 2008 GMC Envoy for Salvage. They were great the gentleman that handled our business typed it up on a very old typewriter! The transaction was easy, conversation was great!
Shawn answered all my emails extremely fast, sent pictures of the part before shipping, and I had the item in 2 days. Highly recommended and will definately purchase from again.

The gang at General Auto Salvage is top notch. Very happy to help in any way they can. I drove over 3 hours to purchase a major item site unseen and I was very happy to find it in far better condition than I had imagined. The price was very reasonable as well. I will make the trip again for that level of service.
They’re DB’s and act like they know about parts. In reality they’re not educated on auto parts and have been arrogant and rude in my dealings. The prices are too high and I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere or for new before stepping foot at this dump!
Ordered parts on Friday and told they would be ready Saturday morning. They were not, wasted the morning waiting around being told time and time again, they would be ready in half an hour. When they finally pulled the parts they were incorrect. Ended up pulling the correct parts my self, which I payed for on the spot. The following Tuesday another charge from general salvage appears, for the amount of the original parts ,that they pulled,that were incorrect. When I called the sales man says: "so you want a refund on that?" Gonna take a week to get refunded. Do not trust this company. I should have just bought new.
Not impressed. Looking for a driver side door and did search on their website. Says they have it, called and said they didn't and continue to tell me that they don't update their pictures or information if car parts were taken. Said car could have been there 3 years ago and still on website! False advertising and need to update inventory at least on a bi weekly basis!
These guys are incredible needed a dash board for my 97 dodge ram and they were the least expensive and also did an incredible job shipping in safely. Would recommend this company to anyone.
Bought a starter it was bad. Was going to buy an alternater from them, but they didn't have it off, so we bought a new one. Went back the next day to return the starter an they were very rude. They hung up on my wife, when she called . They need to grow up an run the business like a business. It's not kindergarden . Needless to say we won't go here again, there are a lot of other places to go . Don't need the drama!
