Great guide through 3 buildings with lots of information. Several other buildings and trails available for self tour.

A little pricey for admission, but a nice stop in the middle of nowhere. Grounds and buildings are well maintained. Staff is super friendly. If you get a chance,chat with Charles in the print shop. Shakers were an interesting people. Worth a stop.

An unexpected highlight to our trip to New Hampshire. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Learned a lot about the printing process and history. Was surprised and how influential the Shaker community was to our society.

Beautiful landscape in the spring and autumn especially. Most of the buildings were closed but I love visiting the dwelling house. Perfect for hiking easy trails and learning about Shaker history.

Tour was interesting and detailed. Enjoyed the stories and the fact that these are authentic buildings and fixtures.

I’ve visited this fascinating village several times and have taken the tour twice. Two years ago, you could only get into buildings on the tour, but now there are several buildings open for the self guided tour. I recommend the latter. Yesterday, while our guide was very informative, the tour was a bit over 2 hours. It’s scheduled to be an hour and a half. Whatever you decide, it will be a rewarding experience. The grounds are stunning and the Shaker story is fascinating.

Nice place but the price is high; $25 per adult for a walking tour. Informative but there isn’t a lot to say about the Shaker movement, certainly not the architecture.

My wife and I visited to learn about what the Shaker community actually was, because we had heard that so many others found it interesting. We were not disappointed. We had a very educational tour and visit. The whole Shaker concept is fascinating.

Pretty interesting spot. All original buildings on grounds and well kept. We went into a couple of buildings. But then again we were there at a time when things weren't happening. They also have a quaint gift shop that offers Shaker period-type gifts the tour was a self-guided one so we didn't have any formal tour but there are plenty of placards that explain as you go along. Beautiful spot.

Bill was a fabulous docent! Personable, knowledgeable, and quick-witted. He knew everything. Great stories if you take the time after the tour. Worth every penny.

I have a special interest in the Shakers. I have been researching them for ten years, collecting books and other items. I highly recommend this village. One day I hope to be a volunteer there. It is historic, beautiful on many levels and quite educational.

You can almost feel the presence of the world the Shakers lived in at this beautiful place. Lots of information is provided to enhance your visit and appreciation.. Free parking and access to the property. Tours are worthwhile. Gift shop has lots of delightful items. Restrooms are provided. Stop by to learn and enjoy some New Hampshire history.

We didn't check times beforehand, so we missed the last tour of the day, but the staff was really helpful, and materials were great for self-guided walking tour. Grounds are gorgeous! The gardens can't be missed! Easy to see why these folks chose this spot. Will definitely return.

We visited in winter so everything was shut down, but the grounds are still open to walk around. They don’t really shovel the paths so snow boots are recommended. The village itself is beautiful and serene, especially when you are the only ones there. We will definitely be back in the summer to visit the museum and gift shop.

Our tour guide Bill was funny and very knowledgeable. I learned so much about the Shakers. He was pleasing to listen to and didn't just talk at us. He was interactive and a great teacher. It is a beautiful village, and I hope to visit again someday to hike the property and take one of their other tours when the weather is warmer. They had free hot chocolate in the gift shop, which was perfect on such a cold day, and after the tour, he gave us little soaps.

Highly interesting historical place to visit really enjoyed the time we spent there. Must see if in the area. Free to walk around and they do have guided tours

This place is a must visit if you're into architecture and/or cultural history. The Shakers were a fascinating people and I look forward to reading more about them. It's free to roam around outside and be sure to pop in the admissions center to watch their free 9 minute video which is a very well done overview of the Shakers. My next visit I hope to do the 1pm tour which let's you look at the interiors of the buildings.

It was nice. The museum was nice upstairs. Shaker made furniture. The village was as it was where they used it. The nobody lives there anymore. There are guided tours available to learn about the Shakers and walk the site. It was a nice detour from driving straight through to our next destination. It was worth it.

A wonderful place to take in an unique and fascinating part of our country's freedom of religion and way of life. Different tours capture various aspects of the Shaker lifestyle. We chose the outside tour of the buildings and grounds. Although self guided entry to the grounds are free tours start at $20. But you are helping keep this part of history available to future generations.

This is a really beautiful spot! They have all sorts of lovely items in the gift shop, and the buildings are so exquisitely designed. See if you can catch a tour if possible, so that you can see all of the interiors. I would love to go back and learn even more about the Shakers. There is just so much beauty and history there.

You can walk the grounds and picnic there for free or you can take one of the guided tours available. We just walked around at our own pace. It was was old and quaint. It was like stepping back in time as we observed the old buildings and their purposes. It was cool to see some of the items they used to print with and cook with. We also saw some of their kitchen and laundry appliances. The gardens were very impressive as well.

This place was really very nice to visit. Our tour guide, Lois, was very informative and answered all questions we had. The tour is 1 hour 15 minutes but she went 15 minutes over due to being so detailed on her guide. The gift shop had lots of cute little things and they have furniture on the 2nd floor that the Shakers made from back in the day. Really cool to see with all the great detail. Definitely not a place for little ones, as the grounds are uneven, lots of walking and lots of things you can't touch.

This place is wonderful! The grounds are beautiful, and we had a nice, sunny day to enjoy them. You can meander around the grounds and look in some of the buildings. There is also a guided tour. Our tour guide, Gail, was very informative and well versed on the Shaker people, their way of life and on the buildings. This tour is well worth going through. We learned so much!

What a great stuck in times past. The history of the Shakers is so interesting. How they lived in such a beautiful area working hard to support themselves through hot summers and fridges winters. This is a must visit spot if your ever in New England.

The village is well maintained and has numerous artifacts from the original collection. Admission comes with a guided tour that is 1.5 hours and very informative. The exhibits themself had less Information than other shaker villages but overall it was a great experience.

At the start we were a bit disappointed that several buildings were not accessible. However, the ones that were gave a great overview of the Shaker culture. The best bit was the accommodation block which had lots of rooms to explore and there was a really friendly and informative guide on hand who answered all our questions and told us so much about what life was like there. I did not know much about the Shakers before and it was a real eye opener. The gift shop has some nice items and the prices are reasonable.
