Rude staff, I was told after he made me an offer in person for some computers that he can’t make the offer unless I sell him the copper in the back of my car as the staff is greedy and have egos that reject them good business!
We have used these guys a few times... All I can say is make sure you keep your yellow slips for months... thank god we did. They will call the police and accuse you of stealing checks when their front desk woman makes a clerical error. What a joke.... we will never again use this company. The older men who own it are great but the woman ruins the whole experience.
DIRTBAGS. They short you on the weight, and then they short you on the unit price. Everyone knows what the market price for copper and aluminum is these days. They wait until you unload the pickup, weigh it all, and then give you 80 cents for copper - when the going rate is about $2.00 to $2.50 a pound [09-01-2024]. I had the time, i would have loaded back up and left. ZERO stars.
Very fair pricing when I told the owner, I was scrapping the metal for a charity. He reached in his pocket and threw me $40. He didn’t have to do that, but he did definitely do business with this company again.
They’re the only yard open on Saturdays but they pay 180% less than all the other scrap yards in the area. (Southern nh/ Massachusetts) Very organized property, but no one could tell me the yards pay out for light iron prior to weigh in. Scale man handed me an invoice then tells me there’s no cash, so after waiting 20 minutes Cadillac Jack pulls in the lot and gives me 84$ for a 230$ load and laughs. Thanks for the laughs jack I appreciate it.
Found their truck blocking the road to my house directly in front of my driveway with no driver in it, old guy in one of their front loaders just starts cursing me out before I even said a word, got off the front loader and got in my face like he was some kind of tough guy looking to fight, unbelievable attitude problem!
terrible. 200 ibs of high carbon steel, cast iron and aluminum and I get $10. They said 10¢ per pound and it weighted exactly 100 pounds. I can tell u that I had 100 ibs of high carbon steel and that stuff goes for 0.70¢ per pound. I couldn't take it back because they already took it to the back don't trust they guys.
The employees there are extremely helpful. The two females that work in the department that you weigh in are awesome and very polite. They are very knowledgeable on their medals and also their yard that they work on. Keep up the good work guys.
Found the employees friendly , busy . And professional. A little confusing at first trying to figure out where to bring your materials . Once you have been there the system becomes crystal clear. Sort the materials, get the weight , take your weight slip to the office and collect your money
I had some thhc wire and of course my smart phone, they will rip anybody if given the chance, he put down $1.00 a pound? SAD Because I've got about 200lb of it at my construction site. There scale will weight on a 2lb round up or down, got some bare bright copper, you might lose $5 every time. I would avoid the place at all cost!
If I could give this place no stars I absolutely would. First time going there call the head got the pricing for what I was in there to scrap they gave me one price on the phone then when I got there they told me they changed the prices I had called 2 minutes down the road due to the fact that the place I usually go to was closed for a vacation.
I would suggest before you unload anything off your trucks at this location you get your price in writing from them don't even show them what you got for weight of the product, you ask them how much it is first. They're the most dishonest people I think I have encounter lately.
I will never be going back to that place again and don't be fooled because they tried to kill you with kindness and distractions after you've unload it all your stuff off your truck. Also watch out for his standard the excuse markets are down right now but they made bounce back at the end of the summer bullshitt. He gave that excuse to two people ahead of me. And yet for of the places told me out right what I would have gotten four the scrap. Go in there knowing what the prices are and what you're going to get before you unload anything off your truck. And don't let the employees full you either they bring out this little piece of paper and tell you that oh look they changed the prices it was this before it's their standard bullshitt line. If you go here make sure you challenge them don't be afraid to tell them no that's not what we agreed on. At the end of the day I got robbed for $200 with a smile.
First time to drop off my scraps because I am selling my house, it is so easy, they take appliances, lawn mowers, snow blower, BBQ and etc. The best is the owner is super nice and friendly. Also, feels good you know the metal is being recycled.
