I love skiing at Black Mountain. It’s such a fun and friendly mountain, and the atmosphere here is awesome. A big part of that is the people who work here, especially Toto, the lift operator. He’s always smiling, greeting everyone, and bringing great energy to the lift. It might seem like a small thing, but it really makes your day better when you’re out on the slopes. People like him are what make this place feel so welcoming. Black Mountain is easily my favorite mountain around. Highly recommend! ⭐⛷️

Fantastic little area, the hike to terrain is a great addition and when the natural is good, you have to do it! What makes this place special is all their woods. Again, hit it when the snow is right, you won't retrace your same tracks once they have so much wooded terrain.

Overall experience was great. The staff were friendly and fun. The grooming was stellar, the ease to purchase tickets was fantastic and (almost) everyone from parking crews, to lifties and on mountain staff were awesome- although the base lodge cook seemed like he could use a vacation ? we could really taste the spite and rage in his cooking; Regardless, we'll definitely be back!

Very nice place, not crowded, the stuff are super friendly specially the rent department, prices are relatively cheaper and the view is amazing ...

My two sons and I enjoyed our day in the mountain this week, nice, easy check-in and rental rentals. The mountain was great, lifts were a little on and off, small technical issues, but not too much time was wasted. Will definitely be back.

Great mountain to learn at. The AC was so sick, loved having a PBR mid mountain. Glenn was helpful to point me in the right direction of the easiest trail. Delafina(?) and the other girl running the lifts for the beginners area were very kind and welcoming! Kevin at the rentals desk was helpful getting my rentals dialed in when I had an issue, the other gentleman (who said he’s a fluffy cow) with the beard was great as well I just didn’t get his name. BT who sold me a hat was a treasure and I’d die for her. The list could go on, everyone who worked here that we dealt with was very kind and welcoming - it’s not like this at every mountain.

Perfect for a few runs in the afternoon whenever I can. Using the midweek pass, thank you for offering that! The only local ski area that offers an affordable pass for alpine skiing. Thank you!

Words cannot express what a wonderful time my husband, two boys and I had last weekend at Black Mountain! Learning to ski and trying out snow boarding was great but what really made our experience so memorable is the amazing crew at Black Mountain. From booking questions to check-in to picking up our rental gear to the classes we took, everyone was so very kind and helpful. Jim, Brett, Kevin and Albert went above and beyond for us in the rental shop. The instructors we had were phenomenal. Elizabeth and Cami were true gems but all of the instructors we had were wonderful. I can’t recommend this ski resort enough and we can’t wait to plan our next visit.

First time at Black Mountain. It's impossible to ignore that this mountain is unapologetically Weird. Mid-mountain fondue and champagne? Sure! Ancient j-bar to nowhere? Absolutely. Midday trail grooming? Why not! Black has clearly identified a niche in the market for an indie-by-definition, retro-by-convention, come-if-you-want-but-we-dont-care-whether-you-like-it return to old school skiing and if it's not apparent to you by this point whether I liked it or not then Black is probably not your kind of place. The trails are meandering and occasionally a little nuggety, the chair lifts are slow but the vibes are immaculate and there's a joyfulness to the experience that is increasingly absent from some of the more soulless mountains built to appeal to our neighbors from the flat lands. We will definitely be back, ideally once the candy shack construction is complete...

I visited Black Mountain over MLK weekend for the first time with my family and we were so impressed. Despite the parking lot being packed and a slight wait for lift lines, the trails were quiet. The vibe of the mountain is so friendly, the lodge has a fun vibe and had a great musician there and the food was reasonably priced. You can really tell that they are putting their heart into this ski area! Super fun trails that offer something for everyone. The alpine hut at the top totally gives Euro vibes too!

This was my first time skiing, highly recommend Black Mountain for beginners and for anyone who wants to have fun. My instructor, Doug, was great and delivered easy to follow instructions with a positive attitude. Everyone who works here was nice and approachable. Wouldn’t have tried skiing if it wasn’t for the Indy Pass, fantastic idea and will be purchasing again in the future.

Bravo Black Mountain!!! Y'all experienced substantial lift difficulties over the weekend, and your GM, Erik Mogensen, handled the situation very efficiently and professionally. It's in time of crisis that you can best gauge the abilities of your staff and the effectiveness of leadership. Black Mountain delivered. I've skied at over 50 different resorts/areas across the US, lived at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon (Snowbird, UT) for over a decade, and even skied the Mauna Kea volcano on Hawaii's big island, but will never forget that my love of skiing started in the East Coast at a ski area even smaller than Black Mountain. These mom and pop places are the best and I hope to add Black Mountain to my list very soon for the experience of how a properly managed smaller ski area should operate.

On January 3, our 11-year-old daughter was stuck on a chairlift at Black Mountain for about an hour and a half due to a lift breakdown. The response was extremely slow, communication was minimal, and the situation was terrifying to witness as a parent. We reported the incident to management and left our contact information, yet we have never been contacted. Since then, our daughter has experienced nightmares and anxiety and will no longer get on a ski lift. The lack of follow-up after such a serious safety incident is unacceptable. Families deserve better communication and care.

One of the best run mountains I have ever skied. Trails are well taken care of with snow making and grooming. Staff are kind and courteous. Great Indy mountain!!

I had an awesome time here it was my first time ever snowboarding and every one was amazing, Ryan and Silas both stoped to help me, they were so helpful. The only downside was the uphillers were on the good side of the good side of the only green trail open at the time.

Awesome vibe and great people at this classic mountain. Shout out to Jim in rentals who took care of my kiddo with his AT skis. You can tell this guy loves the mountain and patrons Great customer service focus. Nice work!

I have skied here several times over the years. I was part of a ski chalet in Bartlett, so I'd stop there for a few runs before or after doing some XC skiing at the JSTF trails up the road. The views are great, too.

This was my first trip to Black Mountain in NH but it will not be my last! Two old lifts would discourage me from coming back on busy winter weekend mornings but the terrain did not dissapoint. There were lots of trails to choose from (even for Spring skiing) with some fun challenging chutes. Still plenty of snow, so fingers crossed for a couple more weeks of operation for this amazing old-time ski resort. I loved the skiing and hope to be a regular visitor at Black for years to come!

Great old school mountain! This season 24/25 Indy Pass has really gone above and beyond to make this mountain even better! You should definitely check it out if you haven’t already!!

I grew up skiing at Black Mountain. It is a great family mountain. They have done incredible upgrades this past season. Look forward to going there again in the future.

Our first time experiencing skiing I must say that I had a blast!! (Will)our skiing coordinator was really helpful and patient with us! Hopefully the resort is still active next year when we are planning to visit again!

This place is awesome, very unique vibe. No crowds, great people, good tunes and good eats. Stop in the lostbo pub for a drink and a break. 2025 update. Modernized lift passes, Indy gear and more black MTN gear for sale. Big thanks to Indy for saving this place and getting me my first ride to the summit, what a view off the top!

Trails were in great condition and the staff was awesome. First time for us but we will be back for sure. Heard new owners took over this place and it’s great. Fun vibe please keep this going.

Went for Indy pass redemption yesterday and took less maybe a minute for the whole process. Very friendly staff, food prices and quality were excellent. Bar tenders friendly and fast. Mountain had 100% open trails and was a blast exploring all the side trails. Really is a unique mountain with all around fantastic staff.

Excellent experience! From ease of online booking to wonderful staff (specifically Bonnie at check in and Fiona the instructor who has the patience of a saint!), our family enjoyed the day immensely! The mountain was beautifully maintained. The lodge was simple but efficient. The dining options were simple but it was quick and the kids were happy! We Will absolutely be returning and expect that this will be where our children really learn to ski! Great job ?

Lots of snow means it's time to head to Black Mountain. Celebrate independent ski areas with Black and Indy Pass. Buy online in advance to save if you don't have a pass. You can get a weekend adult lift ticket for $59, which has to be the best deal around!

Black Mountain was a great place to go snowboarding this season! Staff was very kind and views were great even when not at the summit. Had a vintage type feel and was not crowded at all. Was able to get a lot of runs in with no lines at the lift. Will be coming back!

Nice midsized family owned ski area. The slopes generally face south, so expect a nice sunny ski day with less wind. We used our Freedom Pass to ski free, but Wednesday and Thursday lift tickets were just $30! With feet of snow from the previous week, the conditions were excellent. It was uncrowded as well, for we were two of roughly twenty other people on the hill that day.

Never been skiing here. Working at a home in the pastures behind the lodge and have a good view of the ski ? lifts. Looks so beautiful with the mountains in the background. I can imagine what it would be like to ski on that mountain!! New Hampshire really is a beautiful place!
