If you are a woman, are looking for peace of mind and customer service, find another place to spend your money. This place convinced me they were the only reputable shop in the region, only to leave me totally vulnerable(I made it 4 hours on the road, totally loaded up, before having to stop for more servicing, ultimately breaking down 2 more times on my way home with the same issue and my engine light is STILL ON), knowing I had to drive solo 2,000 miles back home, through desert and over mountains, loaded with cargo. I had to drive thousands of miles to empty a storage unit in Silver Springs. I had my van serviced before I left, to make it road ready. My check engine light came on as I was driving in from Carson City(had to book a hotel there)and luckily this shop was open on a Saturday, so I limped it in. Long story cut way short, they convinced me they were the only honest shop, said they started because they couldn't find anyone honest in the area, so this forced me to extend my stay through the following Wednesday(it would not be able to be serviced until Tues, they had to order parts) to ensure I could get the van serviced and road ready to return home. They told me I had a leaky gasket cover that had let oil leak into a cylinder, so they had to replace that and it would take all day and require me to have the van cleared out so they could access the engine from the inside, this repair would require me to be at the shop all day and they gave me a quote that went from $300 on Sat to almost $1500 on Monday. The van was ready hours before I expected it to be the day it got serviced. Surprised, I asked them if they checked every cylinder and was told because I told them I had it serviced so recently, that they didn't check the others. That totally had me concerned, I'm no mechanic, but if a thing was leaking into a thing, I'd check all the things connected to it. They assured me I was good to go. When I broke down again the next day, in Elko, I called the shop and was told again that they did what they did because I said what I said. I felt really gaslit, I am not a mechanic, I spent good money to sort this issue and clearly it was not sorted. At this point, I wanted some kind of accountability, a partial refund perhaps. I had already thanked the receptionist for her kindness when I was waiting in the office, but she took offense at me being upset at the situation. I was told, again, that they didn't tend every cylinder because of what I said about the van being serviced recently and that they were done with it so early because I had to hit the road, which was not helpful as I hadn't planned on hitting the highway until the next day. I would have vastly preferred a job completed and well done than being told I could take it a couple of hours before schedule, only incomplete. She told me I needed to talk to the mechanic, but I was so angry at that point, I decided to let it go. I had to book two more nights at a motel in Nevada so I could stage the stuff in my van somewhere so the mobile mechanic could access the engine. He was very informative and helpful and got me back on the road, after more time and money. He was also surprised that I had just had it serviced, as it was a "sloppy job". Then I broke down again in Rapid City, SD. Same issue. Yet another mechanic, trying to tend it, who declared that the work that had been done was a "sloppy job". I called again to get some information but it was a Sunday so left a message. Since I had my van at this place, it's been an ongoing headache. At this point, I very much want to talk to the mechanic and I have left multiple messages and talked to the receptionist just 2 days ago, who took my phone number and told me he would be in contact, but no one has called. I am being ignored, there is no accountability here. Shit customer service and shit mechanical service. Meanwhile, each of the mobile mechanics I hired has reached out to me, checking in to make sure I made it home safe. I feel like I was taken advantage of. AVOID.

Worst Everytime I get a hold of them theyre allegedly booked for more than a week out even if it's a simple tire swap can help you for 2 weeks never available to assist anyone in our small town but I bumet if the job was something they could overly charge for they would have time go ahead and edit this now after him not liking what I have to say he goes on to social media and tries to blast me on there like he's cool just thought everybody should know that even though some people think his work is great which I never said anything bad about the work his character is very poor and Petty I definitely will never take anything to him just for this alone no matter if he was the best mechanical life Petty childish things bringing stuff to Facebook like he's been attacked over somebody else's opinion makes him a poor business owner and now with this Matt you can go ahead and take it to Facebook and talk all you want at least this time it'll be deserved ??

I called there shop. I talked with Matt. I told him I was having problems setting the timing on my 1972 ford pick up. Matt was great. He told me how to fix it. And now my truck runs. Just want to give a big thanks to M5 auto repair. I never let anybody work on my vehicles because of cost and trust, but I came across a problem that I couldn't solve. Then my neighbor told me about M5 so I took it to them and all I can say is WOW! They were friendly, fast, and affordable. Will definitely recommend and send all business here in the future. Thanks

Wow! Customers Beware!!!! I knew mechanic shops could be sheisty, but these guys—look out! My son took my van there about 3 months ago. The van is old, and my son used it for work. It was overheating. Three months and over $2000 later - and the van is still overheating. Wow! Unbelievable!! If you can't fix it, don't take the money. And if you take the money, fix it.

A BIG HUGE SHOUT OUT TO MATT AND HIS CREW!! I came to silversprings to visit family and My clutch went out on my subaru. I brought my car in for an estimate and I had a good feeling from the start. He sent me the estimate and told me he will TRY to get it done by the next week. He called me back later that day and told me he called his customers and bumped me up to the top of the list. I got my car back the next day. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, HONEST, and QUICK.Thank you so much for everything!! If I was staying here you would have a customer for life!!

Matt at M5 Auto Repair was very helpful in diagnosing the problem with my 1998 Isuzu Hombre. What I thought was a bad valve in fact turned out to be the ECM. Thank you Matt for a good and timely repair.

Matt and crew quite possibly saved my life, or at least, a lot of trouble. I came in for a headlight change last December, and mentioned that some day I'd need an oil change. Matt offered to check it on the spot. My crankcase was almost empty! He did an immediate oil change, and a fellow crew member also checked my tires, which were all 15 lbs too low. I was heading over Donner Pass the next day, in a snowstorm, and could easily have blown a rod, a tire, or some other disaster. My cat and I could have been stranded with no heat for hours. Matt and his entire crew are friendly, efficient, thoroughly professional, and the prices are excellent. I am so happy they are here in SS! They are the BEST mechanics, we are really lucky to have them.

This shop has been a much needed addition to silver springs. These guys get the job done. Professional service that's always expanding to fit the needs of the community. I would give more than 5 star if I could.

I had to get a "salvage rebuilt" inspection, thought I was going to have to wait all day. They were fast, price was better than the original quote. Super friendly.

I was on the road with 2 other women and a light came on. We were on a very long drive to Texas. We called they said come in, they looked at it fixed it and checked Everything out ( tires & etc..). In and out and felt very safe. Sweet snd professional.

While traveling from Idaho for Thanksgiving my truck broke down. I contacted M5 first but they were understandably fully booked with vehicles needing to be running for others traveling for the holiday. They said they could fit me in the following Monday. I ended up choosing a different repair shop that said they had time to work on my vehicle before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I should have just waited for M5 to fit me in. The other repair shop ended up having my truck for a week. Each day something else needed fixed, the repair bill kept getting bigger than the estimate and I felt like I was being taken advantage of. I called M5, explained the situation and the mechanic knew what the problem was, informed me that my truck for that year needed a certain part that usually isn't used to get my truck running, and even looked up the part on his computer and gave me the part number. He let me know that the repair shop should charge me for the difference between the two parts but not for more labor. Outstanding customer service and I wasn't even their customer. The other shop unfortunately charged me more labor, charged for parts that were ordered wrong, after dropping the transmission (which isn't easy or cheap) didn't even replace the broken fork that was causing me clutch problems, and they failed to put back a plug that now exposes the pin of the clutch. I wish that I hadn't been impatient and would have waited for the expertise and quality of the mechanics at M5.

Stopped here for emergency diagnosis of an engine code during a cross country trip while towing a trailer. They saw us right away, located parts for immediate delivery, and performed the repairs on the spot. Quick, professional, and *very* fair pricing made for an excellent experience - thank you, M5, for keeping our road trip on track!

I met Matt during his previous employment. I was happy to see him start his own business. I took my 2011 Jeep in for an oil change and tire rotation. His honest evaluation of the condition of my car was refreshing. He identified several problem areas that need to be addressed but aren't urgent so I'll be taking it back.
