I failed smog test and someone referred me to come to this place. I was debating if I should go hyundai dealer. After reviewing hyundai service, I’ve decided to get done here. The technician(owner) showed me what was wrong precisely. My real concern was if they diagnose wrong and charge me so much money, at the end not able to fix it. I was in so much stress for a last couple of weeks thinking what if I couldn’t pass smog test second time. It was a quick repair and got smog test passed. All the staff here are so kind and polite! Glad I’ve found a place to go when I’m in trouble.

Very happy with their service. I was able to make a same-day appointment and my car was fixed in a few hours. They didn't try to throw in a bunch of repairs I didn't need either--- just changed my spark splugs, did an oil change, and sent me on my way. I will be taking my Altima here for future repairs.

A family friend recommended this Toyota auto shop. The owner has a passion for Toyotas, which is a favorable aspect. Making an appointment in person is advisable (they are very busy). Upon arriving for my appointment, I left my prescription sunglasses by the cup holder. Once checked in, I waited for approximately two hours. Not an unreasonable wait time. Upon receiving my vehicle, I frantically searched for my sunglasses, even in the lobby. I am certain I had them with me because I cannot drive without them. I spoke to a gentleman and requested that inquire with his mechanic to see if they had accidentally misplaced my sunglasses onto the work area where my car was being serviced. After a 5-minute search, he informed me that they had not located my sunglasses. This was quite disappointing. "Integrity is paramount." My vehicle runs smoothly, and they did a commendable job at a reasonable price. Their services are more cost-effective than the dealership's prices. I have never encountered any issues with dealership technicians or any other small-business auto shops. But honesty is of paramount importance to me, regardless of the establishment's reputation. Recommendation: Ensure you remove all personal belongings from your vehicle.

Japanese Car Service was awesome. It was easy to get an appointment and they looked at my daughter's car to diagnose a problem with the hatch back release in a reasonable amount of time. They did not charge a hefty diagnostic fee like the Hyundai dealership would have, or like Asian Imports was going to charge (around $200), which was really appreciated, and made it affordable for my daughter who has to watch her expenditures closely. They got the part in one day and fixed it the next, and it barely cost $100, and $60 of that was for the part. The desk lady was so nice and explained everything well, and gave us confidence that it would be fixed right the first time. We liked the service so much that I am now considering taking my own car there. Thanks for a job well done!

My transmission gave out while I was in town for a business event. I tried 2 other places, including the local dealership for my car and got nowhere. I pleaded with the service manager at the dealership for someplace he'd send his family and JCS was were he quickly recommended. I called them up and despite a full day, they agreed to look at my car. Comfortable waiting room with snack machines, sodas, and water. Couches, massage chairs and a bathroom made it easy to settle in for I presumed would be a long wait. I watched 2 different employees drive my car and within an hour I was told the news was as a I thought and they had a quote already ready to provide a replacement service. The quote was solid, came with a warranty and they had already arranged to do the whole replacement by end of day the next day to accommodate my travel plans!! I have been to a few really good mechanics in my life, and I really appreciated the kindness of the staff, the expertise of the owner and mechanics and the above board service I received through the whole process. I live 3 hrs. from Las Vegas, but it would be well worth the drive to have them service any of my vehicles!

By far the best mechanic I’ve found in a long long time. He knew what the problem was from the other room just by overhearing me explain it to the lady at the desk. I thought it was the transmission for sure but it was the axels. They had it finished later that day for an amazing price. If you have a Japanese car this is the place. I brought in a broken 98 rav4 to the shop with radiator problems. Thought it was going to be worst case scenario with the cost of the shop. I had called in advance about how much it would be & the outcome was exactly that! I could not be more happier. Had some body work damage that they could not do in their shop so they sent me to their recommendation. They also did a good enough job to not hurt the recommendation of Japanese Car Service. I have sent others here to the shop only because I know they will do the job & take care of what has to be done. I believe the mechanics name was Genir "with more of a H sound for the G" & the taller fellow that did not talk but also assisted with Genir. Kinda reminded me of Penn & Teller but with the shorter guy doing all the talking. The lady at the counter is also great & does her job more than exceeding my expectations for a car repair shop. She remembered my car when I came back the following day & during calls to the shop. Little stuff like that from the crew who do the repairs & those working the front counter will always make me want to prefer going to a local business. The bigger chain shops are okay but at the end of the day the higher ups have lost their touch with the everyday customer. I did not feel like I overpaid but did pay for the service I have requested. I was only told about the damage about the body work due to the fact I wanted my hood to close again & did not know the reason behind it til they told me why. Figured id share my outcome with the shop & will continue to come here when I have a Japanese car.

First, i went to fix my car and gave it to them to check, but they told me something was wrong (it was not, at least not what they had told me was wrong). I ended up paying $700 for repairs, but the problem was not fixed, something was still wrong with the car. In fact, instead of fixing the problem they made a mistake and broke something, and asked me for $2000 to fix it. I was shocked and decided to find somewhere better. I went to muffler workshop, they asked me for $1000 to repair the exact same problem. I was already satisfied, but went to one more dealership jist in case, and ended paying $159 for the same problem to be fixed, and this japanese car service.was the one that caused the problem and was going to charge me 2000!

I would highly recommend Japanese Car Service to anyone I know. I took my car in to check the AC since we had to go back to CA and the temperature was in 3 digits. Upon 45 minutes of inspecting, I was told the compressor of the AC was broken and needed to be replaced, and we still had an extension warrant for my new car. Before bringing it to Japanese Car Service, I called the car dealer and was told an appointment was unavailable until 2 days later, but we had to go back to our CA home a day earlier. After we explained it to Nicole (I believe she is the owner of the shop), she immediately call the nearby Honda dealer and made an emergency appointment for us. My car was fixed in time for our trip home. After all this work she didn't charge us anything and she refused the tips we offered for the work, she insisted they have lots business, and they’re busy so no need to pay for something that they didn’t fixed. Nicole manages a very honest/helpful car service business. I'm very satisfied with the Japanese Car Service. I will come back to this shop and definitely recommend it to everyone. Excellent service! I took my 2001 Subaru here for 8 years. It had a lot of miles and a lot of problems over the years and I was always very pleased with the repair work, ease of getting an appointment, time it took to repair, and cost. The staff are really helpful and nice folks. Over the years they recommended I get a newer vehicle. When I purchased a lemon from a dealer they coached me on how to take it back and get reimbursed. Now, with a new Toyota, I haven't been in for awhile, but I trust these guys and recommend them to everyone!

$85.00 For a oil change when it's not even 4 qt of oil and then the filter and washer. Material cost for me would be near $35.0 an I would still have a quart and a 1/2 left for next time if I was to buy a 5 court jug. Not to mention how they get a discount when buying materials. But I'm getting told that they use genuine oil. I would still have gotten brand name to note. So you need to fix those prices. Because that's on a 1.5L engine. I never paid that much on the East Coast. But sadly people are less tech sabby here and would still paying it or not do it at all.

We were traveling to Vegas from another state when our transmission gave out. We made it but had to find a mechanic. This was a scary situation because we weren’t sure how long this was going to take let alone if we could find a mechanic we could trust. We were incredibly lucky to have found this mechanic. They were so wonderful - they found a used transmission for a reasonable price and fixed it. We made it home and everything worked beautifully. We would highly recommend them!

I would recommend Japanese car service to anyone. I took my car in for brakes and a fluid leak. Apon inspecting the brake I was told I didn't need brakes. I had a crack in my oil pan. It was replaced and no leaks. I easily could have been told I needed the brakes so that should have made more money off of me. They are very honest and great prices. I'll be back for any future auto repairs... Thanks guys ..

These guys do really amazing work. They’re totally up front and honest, they sure as heck won’t sell you anything that isn’t totally necessary and they truly care about you and your vehicle. Not to mention it’s at a price you can’t beat, especially considering the quality of work. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend them, I drive all the way from Boulder City to them and it’s well worth it! The one thing I would change is the completion date communication. I’d rather be told it’s gonna be a few days longer than I hoped over thinking I’ll have my car for the weekend but then not have it :/ Really tho, it’s a small thing that won’t stop me taking my vehicle here every time! I have a 1993 Isuzu Trooper long overdue for service and had trouble finding a repair shop what wanted to deal with it. Japanese Car Service agreed to see what I needed, ordered the parts and took their time to do the repairs properly. When the work was completed, they called me. When I arrived the owner made sure that I saw all of the old parts and explained the defects found. He even told me what was not needed and what checked out OK. The entire staff had uniforms, were courteous, the shop was clean, and they were busy so obviously they have a lot of dedicated customers. The charges were reasonable for the high quality of the work being done. Mr. Riel, the owner said that the engine was good for another 100,000 miles. This is definitely the place to take your car for superior service.

I am re-writing this review due to the Management of the company reaching out to me and making things RIGHT!!!. I was not happy with some work that was done, I did leave a bad review, but the company who is upstanding did reach out. I was issued a full refund and was offered to have my car re-checked. I am very satisfied. Customer Service was above and beyond. I was in a really bad spot with cash due to this car repair, but the Company Reached Out to me and all was made RIGHT!!! The owner of this shop is a great guy. Honest mechanics in this town are not easy to find, and this man is one of the few I've talked to in any city I've been to. My experience with his staff and him personally were great. He knows what he's talking about, and is forthright in his assessments of what he sees. His mechanics and him work on many different types of cars, not just Japanese imports. Definitely look this place up.
