I never get a bill by mail. I don't receive email bills. If I forget to call to see what I owe, they pick up my can and I have to pay pick up and delivery charges, which are outrageous. I think they purposely don't send out the bills so they can do this. Maybe they are trying to save postage. They blame it on the post office that I'm not receiving a bill. I can see that once but I have had to call every 3 months for a year and a half. Post office doesn't mess up that many times in a row. Used to be able to go to landfill because I had their trash pickup service. Now they charge to use the landfill. Wish there were another service in our area.
They say life is about the journey, not the destination, but what if the destination is a dump? Would you still consider taking the journey?
On a recent trip to Mesquite, Nevada, I made the journey to the Virgin Valley Landfill, not only once, or twice, but FOUR TIMES and I can say with the utmost certainty that it was a beautiful experience, despite the outcome's stench.
Now you might ask, how did a 41 year old single woman from Fairbanks, Alaska convince herself a drive to a dump was romantic? Let me tell you...
It was the incredible sunsets
The heat warming every inch of your body like nature's muscle relaxant
The stars that fall against the desert horizon
The joshua tree silhouettes
The man photographing the joshua trees
It's the way the desert begs you to astro travel
Looking for UFOs
The warm wind in your hair, brushing against your face and neck
The little people surveying the land
white linen against tan skin
and the long, disappearing lines...of communication.
If you ever find yourself in Mesquite, Nevada, take a trip to the dump. The end of the road is disgusting, but the journey feels nice. You're not going to like where it takes you, but you won't regret it.
Awful service and antagonizing behavior from the manager BEN. He egged me on to record call and complain. He said that he's the only one. Well, this company doesn't hold true to their values like they advertise on their website. I explained I was disabled and I'm being treated unfairly. They "Don't care".

They're just hanging up on you when you're trying to explain your situation just trying to solve it. And if they can't they just hang up on gotta You gotta love it.

My trash was not picked up on the scheduled day, I called and was told by a very unhelpful employee that there was a car parked next to my cans, on a road that is entirely city parking. She was no help at all after asking where i should put the trash cans to he picked up.
