As a local Montanan, we were treated absolutely like garbage. We felt like we were an inconvenience. Wanted to grab dinner after soaking at Norris. The bartender should be ashamed of herself for her level “of service”. Sorry to bother you into having to do your job instead of playing on your phone. Will not be back.

locals popping in for conversation, this is it. We had a history and present time conversation with owner Hannah and she is a gem! My husband and I have talked about our short couple hours at The Pony Bar in Montana time and time again. We will be back!
Cool little bar! No food but there is a food truck outside. A little off the beaten path but well worth the drive if you are in the area. We stayed at a rental cabin in Pony and it was perfect for us. Pool table too!
Great food and Exemplary bluegrass band. If you want fancy, this isn't for you. If you want hot food made fresh and cold beer and drinks while sitting on a wooden bench, you will love it.
I've never been to the Pony. It was referenced in a book I was reading written by Keith McCafferty: Crazy Mountain Kiss. I find that authors give credit to many wonderful places, reference writers that they admire, and interject, real life places in their stories. If I ever head out to montana, the Pony bar is gonna be on my bucket list.
Had such a fun and amazing time at the Pony Bar; was just exploring the area and someone suggested it and it's the perfect out of the way place with friendly people and great service.
Always enjoy going to Pony the last night of our camping trip. Nice to get good bar food and reasonably priced drinks. We also enjoy having access to the horseshoe pit.
Iconic Montana destination bar tucked away in the mountains. Always a mix of eclectic locals and fun seekers from the surrounding area. Super friendly service!

is one of the best small town bars in Montana. if you want good drinks, fun company and a just over all small town western feel . then this is the bar for you. it's worth the drive to park on a ghost town like street and go have a beer with the town.
The locals there treated us like family even though we're smelly Hiker Trash. They have the best chicken sandwich I've had in years and Robin's homemade coleslaw did not disappoint. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!!
This has to be one of my favorite bars in all of Montana. Come prepared wish cash if you don't want to use the ATM they have there. Its a little high of a withdraw fee. Its small, and quaint, and there aren't ALL the options for alcohol you would see in a big town, but it truly is an experience you can't miss if you're passing by.
A quaint little country bar that’s fun to experience even in the daytime. The wait staff was friendly and welcoming. The walls are adorned with decorations one might expect in a town off the beaten path.
I wish I had taken some pictures. We stopped here on our way to Norris Hotsprings. Seriously stopped for just one. The locals made the stop longer than we had planned. Some came over and introduced themselves and chatted with us. Drinks were bought on both sides. The guitar and singer guy was playing my favorite late 70's, early 80s music. What a fun place. We barely made it the hotsprings
Wow! What an awesome little place! We came out to Montana for our honeymoon and meet some people who told us to stop at the pony bar. It felt like home. Staff and guests were kind, warm, and friendly. We loved every moment here and look forward to coming back to this ghost town thats full of life. Thank you for such a wonderful time!
