Officer was extremely unprofessional and inadequately trained/educated. He asked questions while laughing at my fiancée for not having a full time job, it seems he couldn’t comprehend the idea of a man supporting his woman. Don’t cross here unless you want to be disrespected and wrongfully denied entry. Officers should be educated on the law, but this one was not.
Google sent us to Del Bonito the first time, really great staff, knowledgeable and explain everything very clearly and helpful completely complex paperwork. Saves an hour+ for us instead of goung to Coutts (who are also great btw) when traveling to Lethbridge.
Absolutely delight gentleman at this crossing. Fairly fast . Maybe 10 minutes but mainly cause we ask questions and can be talkers. He was super polite and friendly
We did the online check in and drove the route that was most efficient for our trip and get there during their listed business hours and they were closed. Come to find out, they are always closed on weekends. Update your online hours and save people the waste of time and fuel $&$. Beautiful facility— but not behind a chain link fence?
Never in my 50 years has Del Bonita Border been closed mid day. No signs posted. Nothing on arrive Can, despite having to enter the border crossing we intended to use. Yet we have to have up to date info in arrive Can. Ridiculous and a huge waste of our time.
3 mile line coming into Canada in Sweet Grass. No line here. Had to download and fill out an app ArriveCam before coming through though. Thought this would be all over with April 2022 but I guess not. Anyhow happy to get into Canada again though and not wait all day at the sweet grass border.
I cross Del Bonita in both directions on a regular basis, wait times are really short. Officers on both sides of the border are courteous and professional.Never had a significant problem there. Just one piece of advice: Do not try to clear commercial products at Del Bonita, they are not set up for it. Tried it once on the Canadian side, they wanted to send me to Coutts but the US border was closed already (I arrived shortly before closing) so ended up in a lengthy argument with the border guard, who eventually made the effort to process the commercial invoice. The other piece of advice: On the Blackfeet reservation there is a sign when you turn off from Hwy 2 onto 444, and it has the wrong winter times for the opening times. It is 9am-6 pm in the winter. The sign is wrong, at least in the winter (Winter hours are effective from 9/21-6/30, I believe). If you take the shortcut over 444 to Browning be aware that there are 7 miles of dirt road, which can get very muddy during wet conditions. Your car will be encrusted with mud!
We recently crossed into Canada. No wait time. The lady was polite and pleasant. Had no problems crossing even with our camper. If you need to exchange money on the Canadian side you can do so at TD banks and there is no fee. Crossing back over into Montana was just as easy with no wait time.
Best border crossing from AB to MT. No cars in line when we got there, through the border in less than two minutes! Border guard was professional, but about as friendly as he could be. Worth the detour!
