These guys were great. Our truck broke down and they showed up within 10 minutes of being called. The driver went above and beyond to help us out. We were far from home and they took excellent care of us.
Where do I even start with this scam of a business? The owner—Jason, or whatever his name is—seriously needs a refresher in customer service. The people calling about their cars are the ones paying his bills, and some of us are fresh out of a bad accident. To be met with rudeness right away is unacceptable.
My car sat in their yard Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and I picked it up first thing Monday morning. I wasn’t even allowed to get it on Sunday because of “lot maintenance.” Yet they still charged me for 4 full days—$446—even though Monday was just a morning pickup. Absolute scam.
On top of that, they leave your lights on and your keys just sitting on the seat, which drained my battery. Completely careless.
Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. This place is nothing but a rip-off.
Sadly this was our second time needing our vehicle towed, but McNamara was quick, helpful, and safely got our car where it needed to be for repair. Gavin was polite and helpful. I hope I don’t need to, but I would use them again.
They were nice to deal with… I couldn’t find my title for a week and I had a ton of paperwork with me but they wouldn’t let me get my car without the title no matter what paperwork I had
Creve cour police give you no other option when in an immobilizing accident than this place. They then hold your property hostage unless exact conditions are met as if it’s a criminal repo lot more than it is a service provided for innocent people who are having a bad day. The girls on the phone are constantly using profanity amongst each other while simultaneously taking a call and being as dismissive as possible. Having to pay 260$ for my car that was towed there seems like a literal highway robbery. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.
Big thanks to Remi, who showed up super fast (on a Sunday!), knew exactly what the problem was, provided options, fixed the issue, and taught me something about my car. 10/10 would recommend.
Not often a towing experience puts smile on your face, but McNamara towing was fantastic. From the person answering the phone to Scott, the tow truck operator, the service was first class. The helped me through a couple of issues, were professional the entire time, and knew exactly what to do with my specific make/model. I couldn't ask for more!
The driver was extremely nice and helpful, the office made everything extremely difficult and the office lady told me the drivers don’t work in the office and have no idea what they are talking about. Awful management.
Do yourself a favor and steer clear!
Horrible company with horrible policies and even worse employees. They do not process vehicle intakes in any timely fashion, and will not release a vehicle without notice of an hour or more. Id rather push my truck than ever have them tow it.
Even the other tow truck companies know theyre garbage and dislike them. If I could rate less than 1 star, I would.
Have to give these thieves 1 star to leave a review to warn others. My car was totaled in an accident and now I owe them daily storage fees of $50 and a tow fee of $340 for 8 miles. Wouldn't even allow me access to my car, to look at my car or anything. Wasn't impounded. Just towed from a bad wreck. Women in the office have permanent frowns in their 20s. Between that, their attitudes, lack of human compassion, I wouldn't recommend them to recover roadkill. Profiting off of others losses. I could understand criminals, but victims of an accident? Seriously? Totalled or not you don't suddenly own someone's property. Literally need to have accommodating policies for these situations.
SCAM. MONEY GRAB. EXTORTION. Our family is contacting a lawyer, local news, and the BBB regarding this. Also to include the police department that initially assumed possession of our vehicle.
Y'all tore my temp tag off lmao I'm definitely never having my car towed there again. How do you even manage to do that? At what point do you touch my license plate to load my car onto the tow truck bed? What, I'm supposed to just get constantly pulled over now?
Never have your car taken here. If your car suddenly stops and you have to call 911 for assistance, call your OWN tow truck RIGHT AFTER. The guy wouldn't let me pick a repair shop to drop it off at, or my OWN HOUSE. These people will essentially hold your vehicle for ransom. Absolutely disgusting.
I'm very disappointed with the service at McNamara's. I called for an estimate on towing costs to a couple of different companies, the price I was quoted at McNamara's seemed fair. I explained the wheel was off of the vehicle and explained the location of the vehicle to the employee. Once I reviewed my credit card, the charge was significantly higher than expected so I called to obtain an invoice, because they never sent one. A labor fee appeared on the invoice that I did not authorize and was never mentioned in the estimate. When I called for an explanation, they explained the extra labor was because the front wheel required more work to tow so they charged a labor fee without my knowledge or permission. The tow driver also did not mention that the condition of the car would require an extra labor fee. This business tactic is sneaky and dishonest.
I actually really loved this towing company up until Jan 2024. My daughter was hit and her car was towed here by the officer bc it was on a major road and not operable, during artic like winds/snow. I was lied to about the tow bill cost by an extra $100. Car was in bad shape when we went to "TRY" to get everything out. Unfortunately, I was denied access to OUR belongings or OUR PAID for car. My daughter suffered injuries and was now without car to get to work or school. She had school work in her car and many other items that were destroyed bc of the freezing Temps. I called back a week later to notify them that we were still waiting for the other drivers info from the police report. The woman I spoke to, told me I could get our belongings out if we paid the initial tow bill of $260. While the other employee had told me I would have to pay the entire tow bill which was at around $600. I feel like this was unjust treatment. Not only were we out a vehicle and suffering injuries. But now we were being denied access to our own belongings. Then, I get a certified letter from them, stating that they applied for a salvage title on MY car. I was charged an additional $100 to the tow bill for this certified letter.
(Bc they said they hadn't heard from me in a week) when in fact, I had notified them that all car accidents reports were being delayed due to the State HWY patrol annual software update issues. (FYI, this took over 3 weeks to get the police report) I told them as soon as I get the other drivers info, that we could get the car off their lot.
They made zero attempt to contact me personally, by phone, regular mail, or email.
There should be a law that protects victims of car accidents from money scheming businesses. I guess one persons loss is another's gain, unjustly.
I guess this is how they make their money, from other people's tragic events.

My son had an accident this morning. The police called McNamara’s towing. My husband asked them to tow it to the body shop. Tow truck said, “no we don’t have time to go anywhere but to our shop.” It cost $580 for them to tow 18 miles. Then we had to call another tow shop to get it from there and take it where we wanted it to go. They charged $168! A fraction of the $580! This is a scam! Price gauging at its finest. Never use this company! The girls that answered the phone are rude as can be! A complaint was filed to the Missouri Attoney General.
These guys are seriously the best! They helped me out when I had a flat and had me back on the road so quick. It went from a high stress moment to good laugh. Scott was a lifesaver. Highly recommend them.
I'm rating McNamara's five stars and I wish I could give it 6. The owner stayed open an hour late just to help me get my truck back. Professional and very courteous. Forever thankful.
There was a mix up at the Uhaul pick-up location where the reservation had the incorrect drop-off time. This part was fine, these things happen.
What I didn't appreciate was being scolded and criticized by Michelle at McNamara's Towing & Transport for an error on the pick-up location's part. When I tried to explain the issue, rather than reaching out to the ones at fault I was criticized, scolded, and told I would pay for the error by Michelle.
I eventually dealt with the issue myself and U-haul corporate reimbursed McNamara for the error, which they should've done.
I will not be using McNamara in the future and I don't recommend you do either, but if you do and have to deal with Michelle, I recommend you ask for someone else.
Let me tell you! Great customer service and realistic pricing. I called a number of tow companies in St Charles and St Louis county. McNamara's had the best prices hands down. They were easy to work with and I would recommend them!

I have used McNamara's two times transporting my motorcycle. Joe and Matt were GREAT! They know what they were doing and were very careful to make sure the bike was secured and did not cause any damage. Would HIGHLY recommend!
But I just called for service on 11/9/22 and said they do not do that anymore. That is too bad.
Would give 5 stars except when I asked then to tow it to the repair shop the driver said they couldn't because they didn't know where to put it. Yes it was after 5pm but the repair shop had plenty of room on the parking lot and said the tow truck could have brought it there anyway.
Because of this and a ton of confusion on the insurance for person who hit my cars part it took 17 days to get it to the repair shop. When it could have been already there, had the estimate and getting repairs done. Instead I have been without my car for almost a month.
Very great people, the owner is a very friendly guy. He has helped us countless time, been very friendly to my family & I, always on time, always very professional, always a great guy to get along with. If you want a company who helps you in any kind of car trouble, someone who will be kind enough to do the right thing, well Chris & his crew here are those kind of people. These guy’s are a real class act.
On June 21, 2020 I had, I believe, a nail completely destroy the integrity of my car's tire, it completely shredded itself and disintegrated while I was driving on the highway in a rental car. Luckily I was able to pull over safely without further issues. Then a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer found me alongside the interstate, within ten minutes, and he recommended McNamara's Towing. I called them and got excellent prompt service over the phone, and they dispatched their flatbed tow truck to my location within ten minutes of the phone call (they estimated twenty minutes). Ten minutes, that's pretty awesome! The truck driver, tow truck guy was really nice, friendly, professional, and got the job done well. He took my preferred route to where I like to take the car for service. Overall 100%, A+ if not H level service. I'd highly recommend their services.
The two “delightful” ladies in the office were no help. The tow guy was sweet. The quote-un-quote supervisor yelled at us as soon as we walked into the door. Hopefully one day she will figure out some manners, till then we can just pray no one has to deal with her. She lied to us and gave us wrong information to lead us further away from accessing our car after our car accident. I’m more then happy to leave another one star review for these folks, it will add to a list of other complaints that they will never attend to. If your car was towed here without any constant in all honestly I’m sorry for you.
Edit: these fellas were raided by the FBI a couple years back, something about stealing from customers. Just shows the type of character they have at this tow shop.
