Transmission went out on me right after having to take a kid to the doctor. My day was going as poorly as it could and thankfully A and J got me and my car home quickly so I could go about my day. Driver was sociable and got me home in a timely manner. He also double checked and made sure to put the vehicle where I wanted it so it wouldn't be in the way until I could get it fixes. Our alternator went out on our way home after Thanksgiving. To say these folks went above and beyond is an understatement. I can’t remember the name of the fellow that came to get us but he was a great guy. They really saved the day even though they didn’t have to - on a holiday weekend, all the while being kind and friendly, and we are so grateful. Thanks again. Highly recommend to anyone.

They not only made sure my vehicle was repaired and safe before back on the road, but went above and beyond to communicate and show kindness. These gentlemen communicated every step of the way, and were more than happy to answer all of my questions and listen to my concerns. As a woman it’s hard to find a shop to trust, but they will be my go to shop from now on.
Amazing service! Our alternator went out while traveling from Iowa to Arkansas luckily it held until we got to this repair shop. The staff was extremely helpful and very quickly got the alternator replaced and got us back on the road. They were also fair on the pricing.
Absolutely horrible attitude with my family. Didn't know that the highway patrol used this place to tow. Wouldn't allow us access to our work key in the vehicle to get us into our job until we paid in full we didn't get paid till Friday. Told us one price then upped it by 150 when we got there. DO NOT GO HERE USE AFFORDABLE TOWING. Affordable towing charged us half of what this place did for 2 times the distance. If I get give them 0 I would. Horrible.
A&J towed my car for me to a repair shop close to my home. They showed up fast, did a very professional job, extremely polite, and took care of my car with respect. I will definitely use them again. I was impressed with this company.
I am posting using my husband account as I have already reviewed this company as Tiffany Snider. Today I received threatening Facebook msgs from an employee of aj. They proceeded to tell me that I need to watch what I say in my review then threatening to show up at my home and do something about it . He stated more than once that he would show up at my door and do something about it. I never even said this man's name in my original review and I won't do it on this one as I have contacted the police because this man does infact have my address and knows where I live as he has been to my home dropping off my car and they have my address on file from previous dealings with this company he also stated that it was a bad idea for me to make comments like that about a biker who doesn't care i have screen shots of every msg this man sent. I would seriously avoid this company.
Nothing bad to say about these guys… they’ve always been pretty darn helpful and even offered to look at our car for free when our check engine light came on. 5 stars to their taxi service also- Jack is a pretty decent guy, among the others who also drive there. Never had a bad experience, ever. Kudos to all the employees!
I did not personally use this company. They offer a taxi service and on September 1st 2021 my sister had to use them to run some erramds. When she told me of her experience i had to leave a review. The gentleman that picked her up was so kind and extremely professional, which now days it's a rare thing to get good service as well as good customer service. He was even kind enough to help carry up her groceries. If you are in the Bolivar Polk county area and need a cab i would HIGHLY recommend using their service. Thank you for giving her such a wonderful and positive experience and for showing her such basic human kindness when she needed it most.
My sister used this company to fix a broken window motor 4 months ago. It was the most chaotic experience any of our family has had at a mechanical company. They didn’t communicate what they needed to do, how long parts would take to get there, how long they would need her car, etc. Unfortunately, a bad hail storm hit while her car was there and they also had to fix some broken lights and mirrors that the hail damaged. My sister’s car ended up sitting there for almost a month, and nobody communicated anything to us. We had to call multiple times to find out if the parts had even come in yet, and nobody could even answer that question for us.
Here we are, only 4 months later, and the “new” window motor is broken. She called this morning to see if there was a warranty on the motor, and they couldn’t tell us. No shocker there.
We have an appt at another place in bolivar to look at it. We will never be returning to A&J. Thank you for wasting our time and our money.
Awesome, awesome place. There was a huge misunderstanding with a different company and my scheduled apt here, yet Shannon stayed WAY past closing to get my car done (even though he definitely didn't have to) and even helped me out on top of all of that bullsh*t to fix my drivers seat and get me 4 new tires that I've been needing for a while. I was here for quite a while because of everything but him and his fellow employees made it fun and entertaining. Will definitely drive the HOUR out of my way to come back here again!! Thanks again, y'all!
Bent a control arm on the way back from a ski trip on a Sunday. When Progressive failed to get a tow company within 30 minutes, the owner hooked me up with a driver and was able to to leave my car at the shop and get the parts and install them the next day. Was very convenient that I could also rent a U-Haul Cargo Van from them too so I could get to a hotel to stay for the night. I would highly recommended A&J especially for travellers.
We had an absolutely horrible experience with this company today!! I really hope that it was simply because the driver was having a bad day (although it shouldn't have been taken out on us,the customer). We have used this company before and they were very kind and courteous, can't remember the previous drivers name but he was an older gentleman. The driver that provided the tow today was very rude from the moment that HE arrived for the prearranged tow an hour and a half late. He had told us he would be there to pick up our vehicles at 3:00. We arrived there at 2:30 so we would be ready to go upon his arrival. After not hearing from him and sitting in the sun until 3:15 we finally called to get an ETA from him so if it was going to be awhile we could find someplace cool to sit and have a cold drink (we were 2 hours from home). He informed us it would be close to 4:30 when he arrived. We were not thrilled about that but we were ok with it and remained pleasant to him. The owner of the company told us the cost of the tow would be $260 to tow the vehicles 109 miles and if it was more than 109 miles it would cost us $2 per mile after that. We knew we were safely within the 109 miles because it was realistically 102 miles. After the driver hooked up the vehicles he told me it was going to be $370. I told him the owner had told us $260 and he became angry. He then wanted to take a route to the destination that would have been 18 miles longer which would have put us over the allotted miles. When we disagreed because of the additional mileage he told us fine he would follow us on the route with lesser miles but that we couldn't hold him up and he wanted us to go 70-75 mph This was after WE had waited for HIM for an hour and a half. We told him we would absolutely not do that!! ( I feel he was trying to bully us into going the longer route).He continued being rude. He told us he needed to go into town and had us wait at the pickup point for an additional 15 minutes and then called us and told us he was on his way back and he wanted us to go ahead and get started down the road and that he needed to stop in Brighton to get fuel which was 7 miles down the road from where we were. SO there was an additional 10 minutes added to our waiting time. We were trying our best to be friendly and accommodating even though he was STILL being VERY rude so when he was finally ready to leave I made sure to drive the speed limit and he fell several cars behind so we slowed down to 5mph under the limit and he called us and said we were going too fast so we slowed down even more. When we finally arrived at the destination we did our best to make sure he had a way to easily unload the vehicles. We continued to be nice and friendly and he continued to be very rude!! Once he was done we told him Thanks and he just stuck his hand out for payment. He wasn't going to give us a receipt and was again very rude when we asked for one!! We will NEVER use this company for another Tow or any other kind of service!! We will NEVER recommend them again either. There was another company that was going to charge us $10 more for the tow and I really wish we had used them because I am sure we wouldn't have been put through what we were with this company!! As a side note I would like to say the drivers wife came along with him for the ride and SHE was awesome!! She was very pleasant and friendly!!
Awesome service! I can’t say enough good things about them. We were traveling and started having issues with our car. Being four hours away from home and having a sick toddler we were in a panic. They were one of the few shops open and even though busy was able to fix our problem right away for a reasonable price. I highly recommend the guys at A & J Towing & Auto, especially Shannon. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with an auto shop. Absolutely awful service. Our truck broke down in Bolivar and we had it towed by A&J and also repaired by them. After being in the shop nearly 3 weeks we went to pick it up and waited 4 hours until they told us it wasn’t going to be done. We had to drive back the next day to pick it up. After arriving and trying to pay they still weren’t done with it and when we told them we just wanted the truck they informed us they didn’t take credit cards. This would’ve been helpful information since we were driving from East of Springfield. The General Manager told me this repair job was an inconvenience for him. I handed over $1600 for an incomplete job and was told I was an inconvenience. Terrible service, terrible shop. Don’t waste your time.

I was working out of town and had an alternator go bad on my bucket truck. Although they had plenty of work to do they got me going again in a few hours. The price was more than reasonable.
I had never met Shannon and Allen before but it felt as if they were people I had known forever.
I highly recommend A&J and Will be telling everyone I can to go there.
After towing a truck for us last minute, Shannon really went above & beyond to make sure our truck was ready to go the next morning. Shannon has worked on both of my vehicles in a timely manner. He is always professional and we never have any issues with him or the shop. He always works with us on payments and never does anything without our permission. 10/10 will continue to use him as our mechanic!
I had a car that needed towing 5 miles away or so. Anyway, we talked over the phone and told me what price it was, when he arrived not only was the driver a grumpy guy, he also raised the price so much that I didn't complain because he had a very bad attitude. I will never recommend this place. They have dishonest workers and they'll rip you off.
These guys are hands down the best. Couldn't be any happier. Tire blew out on me on our family trip to Branson. These guys brought a taxi and tow rig to haul us back to the the shop and then gave me a ride to purchase another tire. The staff there are truly good people and i recommend you use them. I expected everything to cost an arm and leg and that was definitely not the case.
My son’s car broke down and A&J was able to get it towed back to our house within 45 minutes of us calling. Jeff, the driver was extremely courteous and pleasant.
Absolutely the best automotive repair facility within the Bolivar - Springfield area. Excellent service, honest and dependable evaluation of repairs needed. The best part is they will tell you the truth about your vehicle...what needs to be taken care of right now and what can wait a bit. Shannon worked on my vehicle...hands down gave my vehicle an additional 5+ years of life. The entire team is like that. I am a customer for life.
They were suppose to do an alignment on one of our cars after taking the rack n pinon off to put new one on and they failed. Then refused to fix it and give money back and then our Chrysler they were suppose to put a new distributor on and didn't charged me 200 saying price for new paper work says used. When we went to get it they still had motor apart and didn't out back together we had to they cracked the windshield and busted our headlight I paid almost 300 for them to fix that and break lines and they didn't fix nothing no distributor and no break lines and they refuse to give our money back since they fixed nothing. so I'm turning it in to city the better business bureau and I'm getting a lawyer to sue them since they do not want to make it right. Don't take ur car to them all they do is rip people off. They did this 2 two vehicles and our neighbors and some others we know... That isn't right when people use their hard earned money to fix their cars and to just have them broke more and keep money... Not to make it right is wrong... This car was drove everyday for the last 20 years.
The main mechanic Shannon is extremely rude! Screaming, cussing and threatening on the phone and through text. He was told to only fix one thing and took it upon himself to fix other things so he could charge more. Was told one price then once there to pick up the vehicle it was a different higher price. Would NEVER use this company again!
