I have been going to Jim's since moving out to Barnhart 5 years ago and these guys are awesome! They always do a fabulous job and go the extra mile on a regular basis. As a single woman who has been ripped off by many a mechanic, I trust these guys completely! The "little guy" is the BEST guy! Support your local businesses!
If you're on the fence about taking your vehicle here don't be. They will take very good care of you and your vehicle. They will also make sure everything thing is done right. I recently had my vehicle in to get a problem fixed that was very hard to diagnose,but they found it and fixed it, and for a good price.
Husband just went in to see if they could put a tail pipe on his work truck and they said leave it and work it in within the hour called and it was ready. And the price was awesome. Absolutely will use them again.
Best shop I’ve had to work with. I do majority of the work my cars need myself but when I need something big I look for shops. I needed an exhaust leak repaired and I found Jim’s by searching for a shop with good reviews. Pricing was very reasonable and the workmanship seems to be outstanding. I will be returning next time I have an issue that’s too big for me to handle
First time using this week. Needed to get an exhaust changed out and some tips added to the back of a Silverado. They did an excellent job. Strongly recommend. I’ll be back.
If I could give more than 5 starts, I would! They gave my cousin and I the absolute best service and customer care. Their willingness to give exceptional service on the car as well as above-and-beyond customer care when the vehicle was ready for pick up. I have nothing but the best praise for them!
My car was sounding like a pan handler so I had to get the rattle out of my golden nugget Naomi :)) ... Jim's Auto Repair and Muffler have always been very fair with service and prices to our family. Even when I had to return the vehicle for additional diagnosis, they have always been honest, and fair about the work done. I don't like to go anywhere else because I trust their opinion

Been taking our cars to Jim's for years. Always does a great job at a reasonable price. We keep our cars for a long time and rely on Jim's to keep them running well.
Took my vehicle in for a blend actuator door $300 and they fixed the wrong side. Took it back in to have the correct side fixed another $300 still not fixed, took it one more time to be charged $100 and told the repair would be 1200-2000. Daughter took her car in with specific issue. $500 and something later..Guess what, issue not fixed. They'll probably ask her to bring it back down charge another $100 on top of the cost of what the say the issue is this time. This is not the Jims you remember.
You guys are lifesavers! Shawn and the team at Jim's did a masterful job completely rebuilding the engine of my Ford F250 when it broke down hauling a trailer on the highway. Despite many weeks of a nightmare of a vehicle fix, Shawn kept in contact, updated me on the situation, and even helped me hook up my trailer after the repairs were complete. Good service and price. Motor mounts, exhaust manifold, valve gasket and other items replaced. Job was done in 2 days and car runs great. Had a coil go bad right after I picked it up and they got it in and out in 30 min when I brought it back the next day.
My tire guy (Bennett's) recommended Jim's. Since my first interaction with first Dave and then Shawn (Sean) I have been so very impressed. Please give them a try, you will not be disappointed!!

Their price quote over the phone was exactly what I was charged at the end of the job. The owner went over the exhaust system with me to make sure I was getting what I wanted and they installed it with 90 minutes.

Waterloo Auto, where I get my tires, oil changes, etc recommended Jim's to me. They said it was a bit of a drive from Waterloo but well worth it. It was a very good experience and I would suggest calling they if you want great service at a very reasonable price.
I have 5 stars because that is all there were.......I would taste them a 10.
Jim's Muffler has done a few jobs on my cars. One was a custom exhaust for a 1977 280Z. I requested it to look oem and they matched the bends and weleded on factory hangers. They are very reasonable price wise and each time I have been in they took my car at our scheduled time. I can't say enough good and highly recommend.
These guys are awesome! Another shop (Arnold carx, never go there again) would not install a simple flex pipe. Tried to upcharge to a $1500 sale on my son's car. Went immediately to Jim's. They took car of it in less than 20 minutes with no appointment. Awesome job. You have earned my business.
My hometown repair shop told me to get a second opinion on my exhaust issue, as they would have to piece together the parts and the repair would be more costly. They recommended Jim's Muffler and I'm glad they did! Jim's Muffler was able to rediagnose the issue and something that I thought was going to be costly turned out to be not at all! It was a pleasant surprise and I'm glad they were able to get to the root of the problem instead of just replacing the whole system. Thank you thank you!
I was told to go to Jim’s by a mechanic that had previously worked on my vehicle. I was given a very fair price, especially for the work that was being done. I was also told it would take around an hour or so to repair, and it only took 20 mins or so, and it was done right! I will definitely be taking my business here versus the big name places from now on! :)
Jim has always done great work on my cars. He's been in business in the same place for at least 28 years that I know of from going to him.
All the Employees are great guys and keep you informed of how things are going with your Vehicle.

I absolutely love this shop. It's so hard to find a mechanic you trust, and these guys definitely have earned that from me. They've fixed blown out spark plugs and much more for me. And this week they were able to get me in last minute for an emissions inspection. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
I am not a person who usually writes reviews. It isn't because I don't want to write a review. It is because I usually don't take the time. I have been to Jim's Muffler 2 times now and I am really impressed about the quality of work they do and the professional way they treat you as a customer. They are not out to gouge you or do unnecessary work on your vehicle. You can be assured you are getting the best estimate possible and it will be cheaper than anywhere else. Unless you have a friend or relative who will do it for free. When I first went there for the first time I was referred by another shop. The person at that shop told me Jim's Muffler does real good work and I will not get the work done any cheaper anywhere else. I did check around and I did go to Jim's Muffler and I did get the work done for less money. I didn't doubt the person that told at the shop. I had to be positive for myself.
