Great place! They have great staff!! They have great facility!! Only downside is the hours of operation and you can have a long wait time depending on when you go. They can only accommodate 5 cars at a time.
This rating is for the hours. Seriously who can possibly keep track of such a strange schedule? For those of us who live across town and need to coordinate when we take our metal recycling, large trash items, etc. it's dang near impossible to figure out a time the recycle center is open that something else is not closed or we're not working. It requires a dedicated trip. And this is why people don't recycle.
Still open even with rainy weather! The attendants are always friendly and helpful. I bring my little dog so they can visit with her as well! Even though I could get a tote for my house I look forward to going!
I have been at this address for almost 5 yrs. Took me MONTHS to get pick up in the 1st place & has been a struggle ever since. Placed it where the pickup drivers wanted it. Since I have gone to extremes to make it visible & easy access. Still it gets missed 4 out of 6 times. Nothing but calling in repeatedly gets it done.
Wow! It is obvious that Joplin has no equal among other cities in Missouri. Saturday morning while visiting Joplin went to the Recycling Center before they opened at 9:00 AM. When I got there the gate was locked and there was a line of cars waiting in front of me. The workers opened the center promptly at 9:00 AM. Both workers were polite, helpful, and respectful of us early arrivals. Just another example of why Joplin is with out equal in the Four State region
We lucked out and had the lot to ourselves when dropping off some cardboard. The staff was kind and very helpful!! We were there and gone in less than 5 minutes.
I love that we have a place not only to recycle, but a place that is so well organized and has so many helpful staff members. They are ALWAYS busy. I just wish more people would take advantage of this service
For those of us living outside Joplin, this is the only option for disposing of old TVs, rechargeable batteries, and other uncommon items. The site is a bit crowded but the staff has always been super helpful, even to the point of helping unload heavy items.
Closed at 5PM on Tuesday when it is clearly posted they are open until 6PM on Tuesdays. Does the city know the workers are closing early? Sounds like a top notch operation they are running here.
