I had a wonderful experience with Derek’s Automotive Service. I had to have my alternator replaced after 6 months of having the same repair. Austin helped track down the part that we purchased previously through O’Reilly’s (had repaired at a different shop) and was able to get a replacement alternator through the warranty- costing us nothing for parts!
Labor was very reasonable and the service was unmatched. So glad to have found a reputable shop!

They were friendly and honest with me. They found that I didn't need my rack and pinion fixed after another shop tried to get me to have it done to pass inspection. Honesty goes a long ways in my book. Tim was friendly and very helpful I'll be choosing them if I need any work done very professional
I am always amazed with the service I receive every time I go to Derek's Automotive. From start to finish it is grand. Even when I had to take my car back for a follow-up for the same problem. This organization was incredible to work with. They helped me figure out the problems of my vehicle without selling me something I didn’t need, and even in a large snowstorm, they were able to accommodate me, while being accommodating and helpful.
Fair and honest treatment. Derek's charged me less than initially quoted once they realized that the engine repair was going to take less time than they thought.

I’ve had Austin and Tim helping me out with little odd requests for years. They always bend over backwards to create a good experience. Even when there is no benefit for them to go the extra mile other than wanting to help others. Thank you Derek’s staff for being so kind and helpful.
I only have 1 complaint, which is very small compared to what you get with them. I wish they were a bit quicker with getting me updates on my cars progress. Other than that, their service is amazing while it may be annoying to play 20 questions it's for the purpose of saving you money and hopefully time as well. I have taken my car here twice now and will not take this or any other car I own anywhere else unless they stop caring about the customer. IT IS SO NICE KNOWING A SHOP THAT DOESN'T TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE CUSTOMER! THANK YOU, DEREKS!
I always receive exceptional service from Derek's Automotive. One of the things I really appreciate is that they never try to upsell me on anything. I have several vehicles and they always only recommend the services that they feel are truly needed. They have even steered me away from somethings I inquired about because they were not needed. I value their honesty and integrity. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a place for automotive repairs and services.
Can't recommend Derek's Automotive Service enough...everyone is super helpful and always friendly. They take the time to explain what the problem is and the recommended remedy. Pricing is always fair and accurate. I'd give 6 Stars if I could :-)
I took my vehicle to Derek's for a tune up after getting a high quote from a competitor. Derek's quote was significantly better. Derek's didn't try to upsale me on things I didn't need. They actually told me a there were several things that looked to be in good condition and didn't need to be changed out. My final bill came in lower than initially quoted. I would definitely recommend them.
I'm usually not a person to leave reviews. These guys were extremely honest, and helpful, took my car in thinking I needed a new power steering pump, I just need my hose tighten up, and a cap put back on. Very professional and honest hopefully I won't need any more work done, but if I do I will take it to them.
Voltage gauge was steadily dropping. Made it to Derek's. No appointment, no notice. They went out of their to help me. Diagnosed the alternator was bad. Left the car and they got on right away. Had it fixed and back to me the next day. I've used Derek's for at least 15 yrs now. I trust them and highly recommend them.
They were great! I needed my vehicle inspected and they took me in at the end of the day without an appointment. They were courteous and very friendly, and were quite quick. I didn't wait that long even though you could tell they were super busy. In just listening to the conversation of one of the person's that worked there, they really do care about their customers and the work that they do for them. If I ever need any work performed on my vehicle, I won't hesitate to take it there.
Derek's is a great place to work with. I have had a couple vehicles looked at and serviced by them. They have always been straight forward with me. If it doesn't need to be fixed, they don't push for it. All in all a great bunch of guys to work with.
We have been using Derek’s Automotive for about 5 years now with complete satisfaction! We recently
moved out of the area and still make the drive to use them. We have also recommended them to several family members and friends who take their vehicles there as well. Before discovering Derek’s we were going to Arisocrat in Merriam, KS since we have a Range Rover and Mercedes, we thought we had to. But Derek’s does just as good of quality work and even gets it done faster and they are so much reasonably priced. They are honest people. For us that is everything! So many smaller automotive shops you hear screw people over but I’d never imagine hearing that about Derek’s from anyone. Tim who mans the front desk is extremely personable and knowledgeable in everything vehicle related. Austin who is more behind the scenes but upfront sometimes is understanding to the fact that people just want to be kept in the loop about what is going on. Sometimes the wait to get our car in can be over a week but when we took it to Aristocrat it would be multiple weeks. I truly cannot recommend this place more. We will continue to take our vehicles there for as long as they remain in business. They have earned our loyal business!
Derek and his son Austin along with their mechanics and Tim in the office are just good honest people. They do good work at a reasonable price. They communicate their findings and anything else that may be a concern. No pressure. Great local business to support!
Derek's worked my car into the schedule when my check engine light came on and the car started running rough. They diagnosed the problem, gave me an explanation and the associated costs and then worked it into their schedule to get it back to me in 2 days. I have trusted them with my cars for 10+ years and have never been disappointed in the quality and thoroughness of their service. They do great work for a very fair price.

They have been more than fair/honest with me - including looking/listening to the weird sounds I bring in. They have returned calls, been prompt with their work, etc.
I have an up coming repair that will be pricey and Austin is willing to make the calls to the warranty companies to see what they cover, etc.
I always feel good when a business says something doesn’t need to be fixed or provides cheaper ways to do something.
They are my go to for auto care. Have not been disappointed!!!
I wish I could leave a review every time we go. These guys are knowledgeable, accurate, and honest, and we won't buy a vehicle without having them look it over first. Lots of shops try to take advantage of women or less car-savvy customers, but not here. I know that if my wife or daughter need something done, they'll be treated right. Even better, these guys take the time to explain exactly what's going on with the vehicles they look at rather than just throwing you a list. Great place, great people!
I brought a used car to Derek's for a pre-purchase inspection, and these guys are amazing! Not only were they upfront with me about the issues, but they actually took the time to explain what they were talking about. It was very close to closing time for them, but at no point did they rush me or make me feel like my concerns were an inconvenience. Even better, they saved me $1500 on a bad car purchase!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a shop with excellent customer service and thorough mechanics, and I'll be making sure my daughter has their phone number when I finally DO find a car for her! I contacted Derek about my daughters car, as we live about an our away and she lives there in Lee's Summit. Derek worked with me over the phone to schedule a time to look at her car, and was able to get her scheduled for repairs that day... His price was VERY reasonable and extremely helpful to answer all our questions. I would recommend him to anyone near and far..
Wonderful, courteous, expert service! Derek and Austin always work hard to get me in quickly when I have an emergency! It is great to have them keep track of all my repairs and I love that they even let me know when it is time for routine maintenance....one less thing I have to worry about. They are honest and priced great. I have been with them a number of years and won't ever change!
I highly recommend Derek's Automotive. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable. Derek's quotes have always been lower than the other guys. He is very honest and up front with any issues and their importance. Derek's Automotive is definitely a place you can trust. I won't take my car anywhere else.
My experience at Derek’s Automotive was phenomenal. The staff knows cars like Peyton Manning knows football, and that is good because my car is a piece of work. The service was great and the price was even better. But the best part was the staff is honest. Whether you’re a car buff or not, you know you’re getting the right work done at the right price. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.
