Maxie, the World's Largest Goose in
Sumner (MO)

That's a big goose been trying to get out here to see it for a long time and of course 5 minutes before we showed up it started raining so I didn't really even get to get out and enjoy her but she's located in a city park lots of room to spread her wings

This place is amazing. The town is great! Stop in and check it out!

She is very cool. I wish there was a plaque with her story on it as to who built her and when and why

Maxie is much larger than anticipated, really cool feature to see

We love Maxie. She is worth the stop in Sumner. There is a lovely park with RV hookups. We let our dogs run on their long leads, and we all stretch our legs and use the facilities before heading down the road.

It was a little ways of the beaten path but my 11 yr old daughter was excited to see it so it was worth it

It's a really big goose; fun thing to see and stretch your legs. Looks like they are putting in some camping spots.

Maxi has been restored! I have not been there for many years and I took a drive to Sumner last weekend… the local artist who restored her, Nathan Asbury of Keytesville, did a lovely job! The park in which Maxi sits also has RV camping spots, in case you are looking for a place to camp near Swan Lake.

Swan Lake didn’t disappoint with all of the swans flying in and then Maxie was the icing on the cake!

Maxie is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the stop to see the World’s Largest Goose! Apparently Sumner, MO is also known as the Wild Goose Capital of the World.

Worlds largest, worth the stop. A little hard to get to, and I wish the town had something to offer as a place to stop and purchase anything, even just drinks.

Easy to get to. No waiting to get photo's. There is RV full hook up camp sites. Nice playground for the kids, picnic tables.

The park was clean and welcoming, my only suggestion is put out trash cans so visitors have somewhere to discard their trash

Sumner is a simple little town and Maxie is a sight to see.

I was there for the Wild Goose Chase Gravel Grinder. Lots of fun then walked over to the Goose Festival.

What can I say, it is a large goose quite fun with the right people.

Best little town with the best locals! Be sure to hit the bar for food and fun. You'll feel like family when you leave.

Its outta the way but go lol how often do you get to see a giant goose look at the smiles it brings

It's pretty remote. If your using Google maps be sure to download that area to get back to highway. It's a giant goose in the middle of nowhere.

It's the worlds largest goose for goodness sake. Take some time out of your schedule and visit it. Best if you visit during goose festival, but always a good place to get a selfie (with the worlds largest goose).

Maxie has welcomed people to Sumner since I was a kid. Lots of fun memories in that town. Yay for the recent addition of indoor plumbing in the shelter house!
