I have tried to contact the owners of ABC Recycling in Moss Point but havent been able to. ABC shorted me 160lbs and when i asked if the owner was available for me to speak to, Jeff Mcdonald, who is not the owner, came out and lied to me and told me that he was the owner. I had a witness there who backed me up on how much the scale read. They didnt even know the dispute was happening until I opened my truck door and asked if they remembered the weight on the scale and, if so, to tell Jeff and they told him the same weight that i said. He didnt care at all to make it right though. He just said the scale says what it says. Right, well it said 160lbs more than what you printed out and paid me for. The scale fluctuates 20-40lbs all the time and they just make you accept that, as if that isnt sketchy already. They should have some system in place to make sure its accurate but they apparently dont or none of this would happen. Ive heard from many people over the years that ABC Recycling ripped them off but now i have experienced it myself. Instead of paying me what i earned, he told me not to come back. I waited a few weeks and reached out to Jeff and he said that i was to stay banned, prompting me to create this post. Ive been taking metal there for nearly, if not, 20 years. So they are stealing from their customers and the guy running the place is lying to their customers and banning them when called out about it. 160lbs doesnt bring much money there or i would be pressing charges. Instead, I'll just share my experience with everyone.
They tried to cheat me on my number one said it was number two and I refuse to do business with them anymore their scales are definitely not proper you do not see your weight going in but you see it coming out my suggestions take it somewhere else if you want to be paid fairly
these people only give you 5$ a catalytic converter and act like they are doing you a favor plz dont take your converter there i will quaddrupel that all day long they are ripping you off and acting like you are to stupid to know how much its worth
Very professional , scales are calibrated regularly. If it's copper need a valid ID . Vehicles 30 years and below have to have Title to vehicle and car serial number must be visible. No propane bottles or hazardous material accepted.
Be professional and you will be treated with the upmost respect. . If not then you may take it somewhere else. Bottom line. It's a business act accordingly.
I spent all day cleaning my my chopper AC coils Owens gives 275 lb I'll bring it over here to ABC they give me 90 a pound that's 185 a pound I Ben screwed I would not recommend using ABC recycling there people in the back that wasn't speaking in English gave me a grade for $0.90 when I brought in clean number #2 copper
Closes at a different time then on Google. Drove from Lucedale arrived at 3:45 and was turned around with rude and unprofessional attitudes from the older lady.
Granny in the front office needs to be fired. Not a professional and should not be working the front office. Should not take your problems out on the customer when the customer did nothing but be a complete gentleman. Putting judgement on people because they scrap maybe she should quit and do something she likes.
The girl working outside was rude and the old man on the forklift said there was no such thing as white brass! The lady in the office said she never heard of white brass and they don't even have a code for it in their computer. Not one, but three employees who obviously know very little about scrap!
Good place to take your scrap. Watch though sometimes they don't get the weight right. As with any place they will burn some of the weight to make a bigger profit
The staff were very nice and helpful, the guy spoke with me like a Freind, unload for me. I Had fast and friendly service. I will return again. Must have ID.
They got good people working there and they're very nice
Well, that was 7 months ago.
I recently went back, there was a different person paying out, an older blonde. Watch out. If she can short 10 people $10 ea. She's got a $100.
I would not recommend ABC to anyone !!! They will rip you off on any way possible with short steel or iron and give you white goods price . Then when you ask why you got the price you got they blame you for not knowing that you need to cross the scale a third time. I personally hope they get what they deserve in the end. Like the old saying every dog has its day!!!!!!

I called before I came today ,Saturday March the 14,2020 n phone recording says they are open.... spoke with secretary n she said they cant change voice mail to say closed... poor business!!
Been here 2 hours already and they have only loaded 8 bundles! And I am supposed to get a full load. Slow, slow, slow! Update, They leave the bundles out side in the dirt and no pallets under them. My floor was covered in dirt and they put big gouges in the floor. The people are nice, that's why 1 star.
Their prices are stupid and they will rip you off.
After years coming here ive had enough. Its not going to change. This time I had 27 pounds of aluminum and because 4 pans had plastic handles it changed to aluminum iron and dropped to .12 a pound.
$3.24 for all that aluminum is terrible i asked the guy if he would change the price if i just took the handles off he said no im assuming. They act like they cant speak English when you try and ask something so you can never really get the right prices and metal seperated. April 12 2019
