WM does a very good job with waist pick up and disposal. However, they limit the materials we are allowed to recycle and I feel this wrong. They should collect all recyclable materials and have them recycled.
I think it pretty chicken of wm to not do any service for tuesday customers because of the snow. They could have started on Thursday. I'm old and was able to get around then. Now we are the only ones who didn't get service this week. Guess they will pick up garbage off the curb when they get full and fall over!!
This is the place to go when you need to dispose of trash. But I must warn you. They're strict and will deny you access if you don't follow the rules. They will not allow you to dump tires, liquids, paints, flammable, or hazard material. You have to pay per load, and most importantly, they don't accept cash as form of payment. Yes they do charge a fee for dumping.
Web says closed at 5pm but that’s for commercial drop off. Residential is 4pm, and I came after 4pm but they were really nice and let me dump anyway. Thank you for that
Easy access if you have trash you need to dump. I put two garbage bags next to my garbage can and the I was told they wouldn’t take the bags. So now you have to take anything that won’t fit in the can and dispose of it. You are allowed up to 300lbs a day. You just pull up, they weigh your vehicle, then you back up to the dumpsters that are recessed in the ground. You won’t have to try and lift it over the side. If you were able to get it in your vehicle, you’ll be able to unload it easily.
Courtney, at the weigh station office made my first visit to this landfill a very positive experience. She was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, giving me a complete understanding of how the pricing and entire process will go every time I need to come. Though there are a few other landfills that I could go to, I now will choose Pelican Grove every time purely because of my experience with her. GIVE THAT WOMAN A RAISE!
After 10min + of pressing numbers to reach someone just to find out price to dump and by the ton or yard and never getting any answers. Guess we will make the short drive to new Orleans to empty our dumpsters. What a nightmare
