They’re true transmission specialists and worked with my unique requirements and made sure everything was done right. Best of all, they stood behind their work. Very good experience for me. I had my 2016 Ram 2500 transmission re built here. The first time I called and told the owner what my error codes were over the phone, he knew exactly what needed to be done and gave me a price to do the job and how long it would take to get it done. After I dropped my truck off, it was ready to pick up the day he said it would be and it cost exactly what he said it would, which goes a long way in my book- especially with previous experiences at mechanic shops. I’ll never get transmission work done anywhere else!
Gordy is the only mechanic left in 40 mile radius that never doubled or tripled his prices since the COVID19 or the toilet paper apocalypse era. Honest prices ...for sure as far as the quality of work goes for me it is still to be determined as I have an appointment next month. Will update later on that but after 20 years of owning many cars I now know what a scam gas vehicles really are (yes even Lincolns, Toyotas and Buicks) it's all meant to keep us debt enslaved either in getting a new loan for a new car or a loan to fix the old cars that are not paid off yet. I am switching to EVs but for the vehicles I still have there is no choice but to repair....and for that I will only be going to this guy.... He really is the last man standing in the sea of looters.
For over 4 months I had a off and on bad vibration in the drive train. I took it to four or five places and was told it was most likely the transmission., torque converter. They all wanted to have me leave my 05 Colorado with 165 thousand miles (That I love) and they would start looking for the problem. Estimates ran from a $1000 to $3000 dollars depending what they found. Then I was referred to Bayport transmission and to ask for Gordy. Gordy took it for a spin and when we got back to the garage he said: "It isn't the Tranny." I decided right there he was the man! I brought the truck back in two weeks when he could get it in and the result was what he thought, the middle universal joint. I ended up paying less that a 10th of what I thought it would be. I absolutely recommend this place.

Will not stand by TH350 transmission rebuild. Towed back in 5 times for repair, now I'm told warranty does not exist. Thought a small town shop would still have integrity. Wrong!
Took my 08 impala SS in for a transmission rebuild and 12,000 miles later its still going good! It was a heavy duty rebuild too so hopefully itll last a lil longer then before. Called a couple times to check progress and was helped everytime!
From what I heard on the reviews there #1👍👌And I ought to know I had a complete. Transmission rebuild here and I took 6 cross state trips pulling a loaded trailer , And didn't have any problems!!!
Excellent service, remarkable speed and expertise. My trans failed on my Tahoe and they made my baby better than new. Now it has better than original transmission. great guys will give you an honest deal.
The absolute best. Honest owners who charge fair prices and do timely work. Absolutely a good send to have them here in Bayport. Absolutely worth going out of your way to here for service as they always do right!!!
The only place I called that suggested fixing the transmission rather than replacing it. Then came in a couple hundred under the quoted amount.
I've done business with a few transmission shops in the area, this is the only one I would go back to agian.
Another auto company, which our vehicle ended up at not by our choice, put a battery in our vehicle. We continued to have issues with the vehicle. Even more issues with lights on the dash. The company kept blowing us off about the continued issues. We jumped the vehicle and got it over to Bayport Transmission where they discovered the battery was not good that the other company put in. They called the other company and had them come over and replace the battery. All the lights went off on the dash and the vehicle now starts no problem. They did not charge us a dime. They go beyond and above everytime we’ve have had work done here. Highly recommended!!
As a single woman I would never take my car anyplace else. They do not tell you you need any extra unnecessary repairs. They are honest and take pride in doing a great job at a reasonable price.
Wouldn’t usually say this but HIGHLY recommend Bayport Transmission for car mechanical needs (except, doesn’t do alignments or insurance body repair). Gordy runs a tight ship and is as hard working and honest as they come for mechanics. Taken multiple cars to him over the past 5 years and even when we had a defective part, he took care of everything no charge months later! They tell you if something doesn’t need doing (yet) and are the most reasonably priced shop around. Done 2 trans rebuilds, a quick fix on a cylinder head, suspension work, wheel bearing and a clutch for me over the past few years. Look no further for honest, affordable, and correct auto work!
Got my brakes done here, best prices in town! It was actually cheaper than what they initially quoted even. Great communication and would definitely come back for more work.
Gordy has done alot of work on my vehicle.He always gave me the lowest estimate, my truck was usually done that day or the next.While working on my truck, he noticed that I needed brakes.He put them on, and told me to payoff in a month.Who shows that kindness anymore? I was on my way to the Twin Cities when my car started losing power on the interstate. I had it towed to this shop in Bayport on a Saturday afternoon. I was prepared to leave it there for the weekend and find alternate transportation, but they were able to diagnose the problem (clogged catalytic converter), find a replacement tail pipe AND install it all in 3 hours. I was very impressed!

I have come to these wonderful people now four times. I thought I need at new power steering pump, they not only said I didn't, but fixed the problem. They are friendly and always fix my car. Best place every! Great price.
Absolutely a stand up business. We take ALL of our vehicles there between our large family and all of our friends. They are honest about the issues; are quick to fix them will communicate with you if they need more time. They typically only need additional time if they are trying to find you a better deal on a part or need to pull something from a junk yard to save you money!
I will always go here and I will always refer anyone here for ANY kinda of car!
A few years ago I took my Ford Windstar in and Gordy recommended a rebuilt transmission which saved me a ton of money. I had a loaner for a few days which was very helpful.
There are not many places I'd recommend but this is definitely one of them.. They are straightforward and no nonsense. There is not any place in the Stillwater area that does a better job for the price.
