Will start with: Waitress was great. Sadly, she had to serve subpar food. The two medium burgers were tough hockey pucks and looked like they had been charred to death. The lettuce was old and it was garnished with one single solitary thin piece of red onion. Pathetic. The crispy chicken sandwich was flat as a pancake and appeared to have been run over by a dump truck. It was tough & over smothered in cheap BBQ sauce. Then, it was supposed to come with lettuce and tomato, it did not. Must have forgotten the basics. It came with 2 tiny little onion rings and no ranch or blue cheese....they forgot one, both or either... The garlic fries of the past are now just thick cut fries with some garlic salt. They're not what they used to be. The menu is not worth the drive anymore. Great location, very friendly waitress, sadly the food was made without care or love or pride. Just bad.

Our 1st visit and we'd definitely return. Yummmmmm. Fast Friendly & Attentive staff! Really tasty eats! Watched Bakd Eagles soaring over the lake. Read, Hanish Bakery bun on menu. Next day we stopped there in Red Wing. We appreciate the heads up on Hanish Bakery!!!!

We were here, February 1, 2026, Swan watching an eagle watching. My wife had the shrimp special which was really jumbo shrimp excellent. I had the salmon and it too was excellent. Great food all the way around I accompanied mine with the left-hand brewery stout, perfect match smooth dark beer. A great place to eat with great food.

While the food was decent, spendy but not outrageous for the area and service was nice there was so limited of options. We chose the spot mainly because it was a "brewery" there was only two beers on tap and they were both IPAs. Only other beer options were basic domestic ones. It was very disappointing as non IPA drinkers. The food options were more limited as well with a decent base price but every basic add on made most things up to almost 20 dollars a plate. Unfortunately don't think I'll go back even though this was a staple place every time in the area

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, excellent across the board! Our waitress Laura was amazing! I got a bloody mary, beet salad, and soup. All were fantastic!

Excellent, thoughtful service. The jerk chicken tacos with pineapple had a great blend of spices. The coleslaw was fresh albeit a tad mayo heavy but the hot honey mango margarita totally made up for it. Will come again.

I wanted to share my recent experience at your establishment, as it fell short of my expectations based on the website's information. On your website, I was pleased to see that dogs were allowed. However, I was informed that we could only sit at the picnic table and were limited to purchasing drinks and appetizers in that area upon arrival. What was particularly disappointing was the restriction on placing a to-go order. Additionally, I found the bartender's demeanor to be quite rude, which added to the overall dissatisfaction of our visit. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope that future guests will have a more positive experience.

My wife and I came to celebrate our anniversary at Reads Brewing Company. We have loved coming here in the past due to the great food, drinks and atmosphere. This time we can with our kids and dog and sat on the outside patio. A waitress came out and immediately yelled at my wife across the patio in front of everyone seated that we couldn't seat ourselves and that dogs weren't allowed. She continued to berate us in front of everyone and repeated herself several times and was very upset. There were no signs that we saw that said you needed to go inside to see a host for seating, nor signs saying dogs weren't allowed. She said that the public health department would close them down if animals were allowed on the patio. Interesting since most other outside dining patios in the State seem to be ok with dogs. What a humiliating experience.

This was our second time at the brewery. I can’t review the food because we’ve never actually ordered from there. The food always looks wonderful, smells good, and heard others say it was good, but we’ve never eaten here. Pros: We sat at the bar and got to talking to the bartender/brewer, it became apparent that he is passionate about beer and the brewing industry. He is also very good at describing beer to people of varying levels of knowledge - those not knowing the difference between a stout vs. blonde, to experienced homebrewers. He wants to share his passion with people, and this is so wonderful. We also really enjoyed the variety. Too many breweries have 5 IPAs, 4 sours, and maybe one or two other beers. This brewery offers a good variety, only two IPAs, but one is a west cost and one is a New England. The building and decor also provide a wonderful atmosphere. Cons: (This is a very small thing) Both times they’ve only had two servers working. They have at least a dozen tables inside and more than a dozen seating areas outside. They were busy both times we were there and the staff is very, very good, but their stress is noticeable. Overall: This is a great stop. We enjoyed all of the beers we had and sampled. I recommend stopping here, you will not be disappointed.

Great brewery on the water. Beer was great and food was delicious - love that you can enjoy deep fried goodness like cheese curds (reeeeally good) but also something healthy like a salad and salmon. Service was friendly. Patio a nice little oasis with views of the water. Definitely recommend!

Highly recommend! Very friendly and helpful staff. Felt welcome as soon as I walked in the door. I’m traveling for work so eating and out solo. I will definitely be back!

We love this cute restaurant off the beaten path and have been coming here for the past 13 years whenever we are nearby. Wish they would bring back the pulled pork sandwiches.

Had the special of the day - pumpkin ravioli in brown sage butter sauce with pecans. Amazing food with awesome view of the river. Can't wait to go back when we can sit on deck.

Dog freindly but only able to get drinks and appetizers with a pet. This is unfortunate because the menu looked great and I would have loved to review an entree. The apps we had were very good and the beer was decent, if a little heavy on the ipa's.

Absolutely amazing food. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits, scotch eggs are the best I've ever had. Jerk chicken tacos were ok. Service was super friendly. Food was quick. The only complaint is that the restaurant was loud and hot.

Reads Landing Brewing is a great little brewery. They have been in a historic building right on the Mississippi for about 12 years and kept all the old charm from the pressed tin ceilings to the bar top. They have a great patio with a beautiful view of the river. I stopped in to try their beer. They had 5 of their brews on for my stop. The porter was easy drinking with a little bitter. The hazy IPA was good but still hoppy. Their kolch was straight up good and smooth. The pale ale was on the bitter side of pale but still still on the mark for the style. The IPA itself I found less bitter than the pale and really liked it. I did not have time to stay for food but they have a full menu and the dishes looked good. The bar tender was very friendly and ensured that I promised to be back...that was going to happen anyway. I suggest you try this little brewery...and the food.

Great selection of beers and many other spirits. Food was fantastic! Jerk tacos were so good. Very nice view of the river on a comfortable patio.

One afternoon while having lunch I found myself seated on the open patio of Reads Landing Brewing Company enjoying the panoramic view of the mighty Mississippi. A restored historic, two-story store front building on the Great River Road with unobstructed view of the river and its seasonal boaters in the summer and eagles in the winter. Indoor seating with tables and chairs, bar seating on hardwood floors, tinplate ceiling and the traditional beer signs and historical framed photos lining the walls. Outdoor patio with a pergola, ceiling fans, metal patio tables and chairs and vintage beer signs. Menu offers a selection of locally produced fish, poultry and meats, soups and salads and a line of craft tap beer. Local grain is milled on-site, not just for beer but for their burger buns. My Jerk Chicken Tacos came with two nicely filled flour tortillas with pulled chicken tossed in their home-made jerk seasoning covered with a pineapple, cilantro salsa, shredded lettuce and a creamy sriracha sauce. A side of fries and a pickle slice. Presentation was simple, food delicious with a slight kick and service commendable. Prices seemed a bit high for a lunch menu. Warning to those, like myself, wishing to wonder over to the lakeside that the tracks you cross can be busy at times. Take caution.

What a place — great view; great beer ; great food; great service. I had the brown ale and the hazy ipa. Both were very good. For food I had beef barley soup and a side salad. Yum. I recommend this place.

Really friendly and good customer service. Nice atmosphere. Was not thrilled with the food or the drinks but it may have just been what I ordered. The bloody Mary was more on the sweet side and was not spicy at all. But that's a preference. And the special I ordered grouper and fries basket was undercooked and underwhelming. I would maybe go back for a flight of beer in the summer to taking the sights. Overall it seem like a really nice place, Just wasn't excited about the food as much as I thought I would be.

Our server was friendly, attentive, and prompt. The restaurant was busy, but the food arrived quickly. My wife enjoyed a pub burger and fries, while I savored a crispy BBQ chicken sandwich and potato salad. The hefeweizen beer was refreshing, too. The big 1873 photo on the wall features the restaurant as it looked in 1873.

Stopped in after a morning biking on local trails. The location is fun. As noted by others, the patio offers great views of the river. We got a beer and burger. Burger was cooked to order and tasty. They seem to be trying for more of an upscale presentation so I had anticipated House cut fries rather than frozen, but they were pretty good as well. I got an IPA and my wife got a wheat beer. Both were quite nice. I’d for sure swing back by if I was in the area.

Great spot right on the river. Great selection of drinks and food. We ordered the breaded catfish and the Southwestern Chiken Sandwich with fries. Both were great but shockingly the chiken sandwich was perfect! It was a crispy, and juicy, and I had bacon and onion crisps in every bite. I wish I would have gotten a different side beside the fries because when you compare them to the sandwich, they don't measure up. Wonder spot, and I will stop by again! They have outdoor seating, which has a great view of the river, and they also allow dogs in the outdoor seating by the picnic tables.

Reads Landing is a tiny town (hamlet?) in the middle of nowhere. Keep your eyes peeled - the turn comes up fast, as the tiny town is nestled in a bend of US Hwy 61 - blink and you miss it. Visited the restaurant on a warm October Saturday afternoon about 1:30. The venue was packed: there was a line for tables and lines outside the restrooms. It was as busy as any place I’ve been to since the start of the pandemic. Building is at least 100 years old and possibly much older. Large windows and plenty of outdoor seating provide scenic river views while you enjoy your meal. We order a couple of cocktails right away. My wife’s Bloody Mary was tasty with just the right amount of spice. My screwdriver was fine. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food. I ordered weiner schnitzel, which was a little over-cooked and dry. Could have used some gravy perhaps. The German potato salad was dry and a bit vinegary. My wife’s smothered ribeye sandwich was well-cooked, tender and flavorful. Her potato salad had an unusually sweet but pleasant flavor. Our server was attentive, efficient and pleasant. She came by once just to apologize for the slow kitchen. Overall I’d highly recommend this restaurant. I think the big crowd was unusual, and I expect service won’t be as slow next time.

Really cool brewery right on the river. Good selection of micro brews. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Lots of old vintage signs as decor. Really nice outdoor patio seating. Menu was much larger than expected. Beautiful scenery. Nice to wander down to the river after having a beer!

Giving this a 5 Star Review only due to who our server was (Sorry did not catch your name) who was working Saturday Morning - February 27th at 11am. Whoever this is deserves a raise. The whole restaurant was full by 11:30am and she was the only server on the floor and did an amazing job getting people to their tables, serving them drinks and then serving them their food. I was hesitant to come into an almost full restaurant but we sat down anyways and we were in and out in less than an hour. It is a cute place with a great view of the river. Parking seemed ample but again it was very busy. Our food was less than 5 stars. The Cioppino was amazing, definitely worth every penny - it was a tad spicy so be careful. The cheese curds didn't have much flavor. The Shrimp and Grits again were almost flavorless but wife liked them. We also had a cheeseburger and it was just a puck of overcooked and over dry beef. I don't have much knowledge of the area so I couldn't say if there is a better place to stop. That waitress though was amazing, great job to you!

Great find. We were driving by last week and noticed the sign. Unfortunately they were not open on Monday. We drove back (46 miles) today and we're glad we did. Good variety of beers (also full bar). Sweet potato tots were awesome. Anchor Inn shrimp was great, as was the Hawaiian Flatbread. Excellent, friendly service, great views, nice old building in a quaint old River town. We'll be back!!

This is a very nice brewery/ restaurant in the area. The food is generally quite good and so is the beer. Some of the beer even has an interesting twist to it. For example, the Cap'n Amber is brewed with Cap'n Crunch cereal... and it's good! I wouldn't necessarily have been able to tell it was brewed with that cereal without being told, but it's definitely there in the background. Three other beers are good to and worth trying. All in all a good restaurant and brewery, recommended. I will be back.

The building is great. Nicely decorated, right by the river and train tracks. The bartender was great, very helpful with the beer selection and the food. The beer was good, but not great. Predictable. The food was really good. Pictured is the pretzel covered cheese curds and the sweet potato tots. The reason I'm giving it three stars? There was a small group at the bar that loved being loud and using the F word. It was uncomfortably obnoxious. The bartender would look at us like he was sorry, but didn't do anything. Nice place to visit, but won't be going back.
