Allen's Towing Services is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a towing company. They towed my car without proper notice or justification, then charged outrageous fees to get it back. When I called to ask questions, the staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful.
It honestly felt like a setup to squeeze money out of people who have no choice. Avoid this place at all costs — they are running a predatory operation and should be held accountable.
Minnesota is known for its brutal winters and unpredictability. Today my car just wouldn't start, after just picking it up Friday. I was able to quickly get a tow from Allen's within 10 minutes of me requesting it. The driver was courteous, and quick with getting it on the flatbed. Like super quick, and getting it off. He was nice enough to allow me to ride with to the shop, and was friendly the whole way. Definitely hoping I don't have any more emergency needs, but it's good to know of a reliable company that will be able to help if it comes up again! Thanks Allen's!
They love to nickel and dime you. Had my car there for 2.5 days but they charged me for 4! Didn't care for their staff's attitude either. Would not recommend.
Had a customer get a tow from an accident. Winch fee, fuel surcharge fee (five miles from location), cleanup fee, hookup fee, labor charge. Over 3k for a tow of a Chevy 1500, this place is borderline criminal
As a former competitor of Allen’s, I can say with certainty the level of professionalism, and skills is unparalleled. The owner knows what he is doing is while they may not be the cheapest-they know what they are doing.
Their former location in Albert Lea has now become a shell of what it used to be, frankly it saddens me. That said the current ownership and leadership at Allen’s is still in Savage, and they know exactly what they are doing and how to do it. As a tow company manager-I can legitimately say if the need were to arise-if I was in their area I would call Allen’s far before I called anyone else.
I had my vehicle towed from Apple Valley to my home around 9pm on Saturday. It was a short wait and the driver, Mike was courteous, friendly and fun to talk with. Mike picked my vehicle up Monday morning and took me and my vehicle to the dealer. Mike was timely and we had a fun conversation. I would definitely recommend Allen’s towing!
I recently needed to have my ford flex towed to the shop due to a dead battery. Hunter did a great job getting vehicle to the dealership! I have used Allens’ towing company in the past and will continue to do so in the future!!
I hit a deer and 2 minutes later, Allen’s happened to be driving by. Towed my vehicle to an auto body shop and dropped me off at home. Was great service, until i went to pick up my vehicle and my key fob was missing a portion of it and when I called Allen’s about it and they said it wasn’t them that lost the portion of the key fob and didn’t offer to look into it or anything.
They did not call the cops to inform that they towed a vehicle.
They towed from private property on a vehicle that was parked with no sign to show a violation. Illegal towing. Burnsville police were notified.
I was on a call telling my friend what an awesome driver I am. How I make the difficult look so easy. As the words were coming out of my mouth, the front tire sank.
Luckily for me, Allen's Towing Services sent this guy Matt. Matt was there it seemed like he sped the whole way ( I didn't mind at all). On the scene, Matt wasting absolutely no time with this rescue. Matt went beast mode real quick. This young man was extremely professional, courtesy, and punctual.
One thing that really stood out to me was that there was no damage to the rig.
I'll probably add more to this review as I remember and have more time. For now, if you are reading this and are in need of a rescue, stop reading this and call Matt or Allen's Towing Services.
I have AAA and tried someone else and waited for a couple of days to tow my car back home. Nothing happened. Called Allen's, and they took care of it right away. No problem, I'm dealing with them from now on. Thank you, Steve.
These guys are amazing. They really helped me out of a bad situation where I got my work truck stuck in a snow bank in a field about quarter of a mile off the main road. They came out with a Bobcat and plowed a road then got me out before the big snow arrived. Eternally grateful to Allen's!
Allen's towing was great. They showed up way faster than i expected. The gentleman doing the towing was outstanding. He was very professional, friendly, and very good at his job.
If they tow an rv or larger vehicle be sure to check if they hooked the gears back up. We paid 420 for a tow and the gears stopped working completely. Finally, they called the guy who towed it and realized he did not hook the gears back up. We were in the cold for an hour trying to figure out what was happening.
Awesome service! From me calling to them showing up was maybe 15 minutes. Corey was the driver and was very nice and very professional. I'm sorry I didn't have any cash on hand to tip but I would highly recommend this business. Thank you!

My buddy's truck got towed here. As far as today's tow yards go, this one is top notch! There has been an issue with the title for his truck, and he can't get it transferred. The tow yard attendant is doing what I would want done if my truck had been impounded, albeit wrongfully, and will not release it to him. Despite having pounds of paper proving it's indeed his truck, they are abiding by the letter of the law and not releasing it to him until he gets the proper paperwork. Your vehicle is safe here!!!
Quick. Knowledgeable. Professional. Our car quit in the middle of a busy intersection and refused to go into neutral so it could be pushed to the shoulder. I called 2 other tow truck places before I got ahold of these guys and they were out in minutes. They told me the price over the phone so I was informed before they came. Towed to a repair shop. Amazing experience during a tough situation.
I was in a pickle and Allen's Towing (specifically Matt) was BEYOND helpful. Other towing companies even recommended I give them a call! I was given advice and techniques on how to the job myself before having them come out. Spent 10 minutes on the phone hashing out solutions. After hanging up, Matt sent me his cell number and pictures of similar projects to help me. Matt went above and beyond and shared all the ways we could do the job within the budget I had. Exceeded all expectations. I'll never use another towing company. THANK YOU!!

Rob and his crew did an outstanding and professional job! He picked an 1850lb load off an LTL semi-trailer and placed it in my garage. He needed to pull the load to the rear in the trailer by tow truck winch and then picked it off the lift-gate w/ a Bobcat forklift set-up. I could not have done this myself if I had rented equipment (more reasonable cost-wise, too). This was the smoothest part of this whole project!!! I will definitely recommend him and use him in the future!
This is the worst place to have your car towed. Owner is a dishonest person that shouldn’t be doing business, he lied even to law enforcement officers and he had no compassion of two poor people after Christmas. The owner just want money, don’t get confused by this people, don't let him take advantage of you under any circumstances, call somebody else if you need to.
They took a car without authorization to charge almost $400 for just one night.
My kid broke down with 2 flat front tires on his way to work (weird), called Allen's for a tow and they were there in like 10 min. Hooked up the car and towed it to Discount tire in Burnsville...total time like 20 min from hook up to delivery. cost $90 bucks. These guys and the driver were life savers and fast. Great 5 star service.
My car was towed for parking, the people at the front desk were more then helpful. I was treated with respect which is unlikely after being impounded. The people in the lot were very helpful with getting me to my car, and even jumpstarting the car for free. Everything was reasonably priced. Great customer service and attitudes.
The few men that helped me while my car was in their lot were nothing but rude and disrespectful. I had a few questions regarding my car, but nobody seemed to want to help me. A few days prior to getting my car out all I wanted was my house key off the key chain. They wouldn't even let me get that. I put all thumbs down for this towing company. I've had better service at plenty of other places..
