I reached out to them to purchase a trunk hatch for a Ford Escape that they had listed on Car-part.com. They did not disclose any rust damage on the website. After 5 days of waiting for them to confirm they still have it and confirm if it is in good condition, I decided to go purchase it from them.
When I had arrived to pick it up, it was sitting on the ground covered in snow, they wiped it off and showed me that is had some minor rust on the surface, however what they did not show me is that the entire bottom/ underside of the hatch that was sitting on the ground unable to inspect due to the snow is completely rotted/ rusted out.
Due to this rot, I am unable to install this hatch as it will not seal. I reached put to them to see if we could reach a compromise of either exchanging it for another hatch in better condition, or if I could receive a refund. After 10 days of going back and forth, they said they will not refund me my money, they will not exchange it, they wont even give me half my money back.
So now I have a hatch I cant use, and I still need to find a new one to install.

I called about a part was told they would check on it and call me back I always try you guys first before others but to no avail never got called back at all needed the part badly so searched around and found it normally get good results from you but thus time. About 4 days went by no call back so found it after the 4th day kinda bad service if you ask me not sure I will try you guys again for a part
Love this auto salvage. I've not had any issues with parts I've purchased here nor have I had issues with bringing in anything here. Keith and the crew he has are reliable and are polite as well.
Great people. I bought a transmission from them, put it in my truck and it had an issue that no one knew about. They exchanged the transmission for me and even explained a few things to me that i did not know about. Very great people to deal with. Highly recommend them.
Ordered a fender from them. Weeks went by before they actually sent it out. When it came in, the front was damaged and the lower part of the fender was total rust. I was never told about the damage or the rust. I called and left a message about getting it refunded and sent back. Never received a call back at all. Not buying from again.
Update: We did receive a refund for this part now.
I was notified my vehicle that was reported stolen was in this place. I called them and explained to them my vehicle was stolen and it was there. They said somebody had left it outside their property and they took it in. Even though I explained to them the vehicle was stolen they proceeded to charge me $2440 "For storage" after they decided to take it in from the street instead of calling a deputy to inspect it. Anyways, they called the Sheriffs Department and the sheriffs department ran a wrong vin # and advised to this business not to give me my vehicle. The next day I got in contact with the detectives that were helping me with this case and reran the VIN. The Chief of the Sheriffs department apologized to me because the dispatcher that ran the VIN initially had made a mistake. I called this business again and told them in fact the vehicle was stolen they denied to refund me any of my money for a vehicle that THEY TOOK FROM THE STREET AND WAS REPORTED STOLEN.
They paid well for my van. Friendly and quick service. Im sure they are good with other scrap as well considering they were very busy unloading many customers in my time there.
It's ok when you need a part. Just call them before you go to pick up your parts if they have to pull them. When I got there from 40 minutes away they had givin my part to someone else and I had to drive back 40 minutes the next day to get the part again...
Ordered a windshield 3 days ago... Drove all the way from eagle lake and show up to find out they broke it... They did not even call me first i show up she says i was about to call you.. I do not recomend.. Rude af..
Both Google and their website say they're open m-f 8-5 and Saturday 8-noon but I am here on a Saturday at 10am and they are closed. Sign on the office says m-f 8-4:30 and closed Saturday and sunday. Waste of a long drive to a waste of a junkyard. This place was awesome when it was DeGroot auto salvage but Johnson's ruined it!
Worst customer experience I’ve ever had with a salvage yard. Piss poor communication, wasted 2 weeks of my time waiting around for a part that was supposed to be shipped to me only to find out the part was damaged and they never shipped it. Never even bothered to call and tell me this, they say they will call you back but never do then make up excuses as to why they didn’t.
Really good people work here! Everybody I came in contact with has a great attitude! Pete one of the attendants went the extra mile to help me find the parts I needed for my Ford interior! Thanks guys!
Overall a good experience. Were left alone to shop freely, after being driven to the rv/camper area. Had to bring all our own tools. Only assistance was getting items back to main office area. Friendly enough staff.
Might have gotten overcharged between tally amount and debit card run, but not by a lot. We dug out our own items, and it got tallied by one person, rung up by another.
I was trying to locate a rearend for one of our company trucks, only to find no one local to me had one. (No surprise since this isn't the first time I had had to replace a Chevy rearend) I was referred to Johnson Auto Salvage, by another local salvage yard.
They located a rearend for me in their yard, and once i finally got the boss to open his wallet, I took the hour drive from Rochester.
This is the typical salvage yard with IMO cool stuff sitting everywhere. When you arrive and its busy, parking can be limited near the office building, so walk right into the office and meet the courteous staff before venturing into the yard.
Loading the part was easy, they are very willing to help get you loaded, and if the part you bought is heavy they will load it with their wheel loader.
5 star treatment.
I blame myself for not verifying i received the proper part from them, it was a simple mistake, we are all human. So when i get it back to my shop, i see its wrong, i call and according to their database i got the right part, but it wasn't.
I got a call back from Keith the owner, he was very determined that I get the right part, he spent nearly an entire day trying to locate the right rearend in his yard. He told me he found the right part, and would rectify the situation, and he was dead true to his word, Keith your a great guy, and business owner. I wish i had time to sit and chat with you.

They'll say anything to make a sale and wont stand behind their products. Don't trust anything they say!!! Make sure you get a receipt with the warranty written on the receipt and don't pay cash. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!! Buy parts anywhere else but here.
