Dean couldn’t fix an outlet with a tripped breaker. He will scam you sell you a car with a salvage title then claims it’s not when the carfax say it is. I will be seeing Dean in court as you likely will too if you buy a car from him. DO NOT GO HERE.

I had to get a tow because of a broken shock, after the driver loaded my car, he proceeded to drive away and caught a tree branch...scratched my car so bad I had to get it repaired.. this was almost 5 months ago and they are still fighting to take care of the damage. I'm out my deductible of $1,000 they have been uncooperative the whole way through, so I have no choice but to move forward with a lawyer. Super unprofessional of them for not taking responsibility of their driver. I have time stamped pictures of the damage....would not recommend!
This business is so unprofessional it isn't even funny, was sold 2 complete pieces of junk, first vehicle the transmission went out on! When the last car broke down he went and crushed it before the interlock was to be removed and he was prefectly aware that removal was to be completed by him, which in turn cost $600 to pay off with interlock company. When asking for a little help with that cost Dean played dumb and said "not my problem"

Dean personally picked me up after my transmission broke. He made sure I got my truck towed and stored and the helped load up my truck. He did a good job and helped me out of freezing weather.
Crank no start. Stuck in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday. The guy who helped me wasn’t even supposed to work that day. Very nice guy. The car insurance app sent me to a repair shop that closed in 2017… the tow guy found me another repair shop and helped me with the whole process. Very good experience. I’d recommend.
Car broke down outside of owatonna. Called AAA and was connected with a Deans Northtown Towing outside of Mankato. Our tow driver was Jay and was super helpful! He was able to find my car easily after AAA had put in an incorrect location and did not make us pay extra service charges because of that. 10/10 recommend Deans. request driver Jay if you have the opportunity to do so. Thank you Deans and Jay!

Brody picked my car and me up after my car suddenly broke down. I was on the side of the road on the Highway 60 detour hugging very little shoulder. Brody was fantastic! He kept in contact with me while he was on the way, and got my car and me to my local mechanics shop with ease and efficiency! I felt very pleased, relieved, and safe with this driver and tow service! I highly recommend Brody!

Very poor service my car broke down in my driveway so they told me they would come tow it and fix it they never did it i called multiple times and he said he would come. They are very unprofessional very time wasting and resources too if you are reading this I urge you to reconsider it is not worth it they just waste you’re time there are plenty of other places to go
Dean’s rescued my frozen GMC Terrain today. Battery just couldn’t take it (-30) anymore. Dean’s got it going and found a bad cell in 5 year old battery. They made time to get me in and replace with a new one and all went great. New Customer for sure. Thank you!!
Kaiden was so helpful, informative, and kind. Even though it's -23 below, he didn't complain. He called his boss for clarification when I was unsure what to do. I appreciated that he wasn't annoyed with me. He put a new battery in my car.
Used their towing service. Driver was very nice and helpful! Took my car to the repair shop, then gave me a ride home. Good "in town" towing price compared to others in town. Guy who answered the phone was also very nice and informative! (It was also close to their closing time) Will definitely use again/recommend if needed! Thanks guys!
AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. If I could give it 0 stars I would. In January of this year (January2022) I purchased a used car in cash from here. I was told I would get the title shipped to me within 30 days (should’ve seen the red flags then). I never received any paperwork ever and eventually forgot about it. 2 weeks ago (September 2022) that same car got vandalized and insurance ended up totaling out my vehicle. In order to get paid from insurance I had to provide a title. I contacted deans and they were clueless (basically forgot all about my title). They didn’t even have it on them the title was still at the dealership they previously bought the car from. I was told Friday to go in Monday for the title and they still didn’t have it and didn’t have a single care in the world. Dean himself said “It’s not our fault” they didn’t want to admit that they took my cash, smiled in my face and then completely forgot about what they are required to do. Had 0 sympathy for me and extremely disrespectful. How do you run a business like this?!? Our insurance guy in Mankato also told me that they have had multiple problems with Dean’s in the past. Dean himself also told me “this happens” absolutely under no circumstances does it take 9 months to get a title when you’ve done your part. With all the competition in Mankato and with how popular marketplace is I am shocked they still sell enough cars to be open. You’re better off going on Facebook. I went to a dealership to avoid these problems. I finally have the title after 9 months and 2 weeks and I still have to wait another 2 weeks for it to process before I can sign over to insurance. If I could give 0 starts I would. So many good body shops in town and dealerships. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF DOING BUSINESS HERE DON’T!! Also not to mention the car was being driven by one of the female staff members at the time of purchase and reeked of cigarettes. I know this because she needed to go collect her belongings from the vehicle at the time of purchase and even stated she had been driving it. It was so low on gas I needed to stop for gas on the ride home.
Completely wrecked the front half of my vehicle that was stuck in the mud towing it out from my tow hitch. How does damage happen to the front of a vehicle even getting towed backwards from the tow hitch? Only Dean’s Towing can answer [for] that. 35 years of business and this is how they treat customers. “You got stuck, any damage that happens during tow process is your fault.” Great tagline for the business.
This place gets all the stars! I enthusiastically recommend Dean's Northtown Auto if you need your car towed and especially if your car is in need of repair!
Dean was confident that he could fix my car even after I explained how two other places told me my car wasn’t worth fixing and that the parts would be “impossible” to find (one even offered me less than scrap price for my car).
(Bonus: They have their own tow trucks (!!!) so I didn’t have the extra hassle of needing to arrange a tow for my car and then wait around for it to show up, etc.)
I appreciated that he was honest with his current workload and where my car would fit into their schedule. Even when my excited anticipation to have my car working again probably got annoying, they were always friendly and patient when taking my calls, and when some places would have offered excuses or avoidance, it was refreshing to consistently be given the actual status of the parts being ordered and arriving, and of the repairs being done.
Today, I’m more than happy to say the “impossible” happened, I was able to drive my car home (and everywhere else I wanted to go). Not only was my car repaired, they went above and beyond my expectations: in the four years I've owned my car, this will be the first one I will get to experience working A/C! As if that weren’t enough, my total cost, which included towing my car, labor, and parts, was lower than the estimates I’d received from either of the other two places!
I am beyond impressed and satisfied with how everything turned out. This is without a doubt my new 'go-to' for any future car work I may need.
Very lazy and I had my car with them for more than a week and they told me there was something seriously wrong with the engine -they didn’t even look at it- and it would take them another week at least. So i had it towed away to another garage it turns out I just needed to replace something that only costs less than a hundred dollar. And they charged me for looking at it without even looking at it. The worst experience I had in mankato it felt like I was begging them.
AAA assigned Dean’s to do a tow for us and they were so great to work with! Zach showed up, knew exactly what he was doing, was super friendly, and great to work with! Both he and dispatch kept upland updated on his status. We appreciated working with this company!
I needed two good front tires for my vehicle and got 2 very nice used tires for50$ each. After mounting them and balancing them my bill was 157.67. They had it done within an hour. Great customer service. Going back tomorrow for 2 more before winter. Would certainly recommend!
Dean’s is always my first choice for my auto repair needs in town. Recently had my truck towed and front end rebuilt (hubs, ball joint, spline, cv axle, brakes); I had some of the parts and the rest he was able to find cheaper used rebuilt parts that kept the price down. Good service and prices all the way around and he finished all the work including the initial tow without any payment due. If you want a shop to work with you and take care of all the details that can burden you and slow down your repairs, then this is the guy to call! Also, will give you recommendations for projects that require specialized equipment or skills that others might be more suited to do. Whatever the reason, if it’s something automotive (sales, repairs, towing, etc), this is always my first stop!
Dean found me a deal on tires for my camper saved me money and it was a much better tire then what I had found. When I came to pick them up I was have a starting problem that turned out to be a bad battery connection fixed me up right away. Could of told me to come back next week but addressed the problem and sent me on my way. Always have had Great service over the years from them. Will continue to have them work on my vehicles.
Deans Northtown Auto, People have mixed perceptions of the place. My factual experience has been one and an on going one at that has been just fine. I have bought 3 vehicles from him and he was upfront about the things one cant see and no major issues with any of the vehicles. He has an abundance of good tires and does not bend you over for em either . He has made repairs to my current truck and I'll be taking my work truck to him soon as well for maintenance. he does get busy but hes honest and you need to ask the right questions if you want to know anything that your purchase may need. If he knows about a potential problem, he will tell you how it is. Thx Dean and crew. Recommended to many of my friends.
