This place is a dream! Aside from the headboards being coated in dust and the stairwell door that slams loudly (a soft-close feature would be a great upgrade), everything else was fantastic. The lodge staff were super friendly and accommodating. Guests can use snowshoes for free, and there’s an adorable s’mores building stocked with complimentary s’mores kits, plus checkers, cribbage, and a cozy fireplace. It’s a great spot for snowmobilers! At The Crossings restaurant at the top of the hill, you can even order pre-packaged lunches for pickup to take along on your ride. The lake views are breathtaking — we caught both sunrise and sunset, and they were unforgettable. The lobby also offers a huge selection of free DVD movies, board games, and complimentary hot tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The onsite restaurant staff seemed a bit irritated and not very friendly, which was disappointing — but the food was incredible! The stuffed wild rice walleye is absolutely to die for. Will definitely be back!!

Amazing view from this lodge! Great location. Close to everything from food to various hikes. Only issue was our rental smelled bad. We ended up becoming nose blind to it but the smell was there everytime we walked into the home. It was the Harbor House, one of the spots that’s separate from the hotel.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at the lodge. Our intent was to unplug and relax, and Cove Point is perfect for that. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and engaged. Abram ( fun chat about swords and my last name), Ellie, Don and Scott at the front desk were amazing. In the restaurant, Rachel, Paula and Anna provided quick service, and were helpful with details on their menu items. Each of our three dinners were delicious. Our final night my wife had Norwegian Chicken and I had the 10 Oz steak. Holy cow, both were beyond expectations. Definitely give those a try. We initially had some maintenance issues with the room we reserved. Here the front desk team of Abram and Ellie were quick to act. They got us into a different room without hesitation. All around fantastic experience.

We had a fantastic stay at Cove Point Lodge Fjord Southwoods Bunk private cabin. Everything was new, super clean and wonderfully quiet which made it such a restful place. The view of Lake Superior was absolutely gorgeous and we woke up to a beautiful sunrise right through the bedroom window. They truly thought of everything and the cabin was immaculate, warm and inviting from the moment we walked in. It was the perfect setting for a romantic long weekend and we loved every minute of it. We will definitely return.

The rooms were really nice - we got a 3rd floor room with a balcony. No complaint at all about that. The breakfast was really strange, but my wife tells me that this is normal for the north. They had natural offerings like salmon spread for bagels, and some other stuff that we couldn’t really identify. That’s fine as long as you offer “normal” breakfast like biscuits and gravy, but that was nowhere to me found. Also, the toasters to bake the bagels were on the end of the breakfast line, meaning that if you were making a bagel, you held up the line. Please move the toasters to another area to make it more streamlined.

Beautiful setting, so peaceful on the water. Great staff, short trails, food and entertainment for the whole family. Second time back and will be booking again for next fall!

We’ve stayed here a couple times and always enjoy it. The hotel is right on the lake with lots to do, and the rooms have great views. It has a really cozy feel and the value is great. The restaurant is a little spendy, but the food is really good. Overall, 10/10 stay every time!

Beautiful room with fireplace and balcony. Had dinner there one night and it was excellent. The phone reception is not ideal. Thankfully could take pictures and text, just couldn't make calls.

We had a better experience than any other lodge stay in the Lake Superior region in our opinion. I've seen reviews that complained about the pricing. If you don't want to pay for premium lodging and dining, go elsewhere, it's that simple. The room lake views all overlook Lake Superior for a fantastic experience when in room. The dining is second to none. We will be returning for future stays rather than trying to find cheaper alternatives. There just aren't any better places to go.

Came early for check in and the room was not ready so we played one of the many board games in the lobby while we waited. Our room was a 1st floor King with a gas fireplace that came in handy to take the chill off. Large walk in shower, that had no grab rails. (we're old and need that to maintain balance) The left side of the king bed had something loose and would make an annoying boing noise when you changed position but was comfortable otherwise. We couldn't figure out the TV so we asked the front desk for some help. Maintenance man came right away. Operator error, we were trying to adjust the TV with DVD remote (there were 3 to choose from). Our patio door led out to a small wooden deck with two adirondack chairs facing the lake. Even though it was cool we open a bottle of wine, covered our legs with a blanket and enjoyed the very quiet surroundings. |We ate our evening meals at the lodge. Service was good the meal selections were tasty, not inexpensive. We especially liked the stuffed walleye with wild rice and the Swedish meatballs. |We did not try the pool but it looked nice. The surrounding Lodge grounds were just beautiful and quiet. Plus a waterfalls on the other side of the parking lot.

This is a beautiful property with beautiful views of Lake Superior. They are very family friendly and the staff are very nice and helpful. A couple surprises/concerns led to my 4, not 5 star rating. For air conditioning in the Lodge they have portable AC units with a hose going out the window. It was in the way and VERY loud. It was hard to hear the TV with it on. And I kept waking up each time it kicked on and off throughout the night. Also, there was mold/mildew in the shower and hairs in the shower when we arrived. Also there was a lot of hairs on the bed sashes, making me feel the room was not clean. Also, just be aware that the complimentary breakfast is not a "typical" breakfast but a "Scandinavian" breakfast with a lot of pickled foods. They do have bagels and cereal. They offer a lot of extras but I don't think we'll be back.

We go there quite often it is a very nice place if you like to ride side by sides four-wheelers the trails real close there's a ton of stuff to do if you like s'mores every night you can have s'mores

My husband and I got engaged at the point and we always love coming back. It has a cozy feel to it, not your average resort. The food is amazing at the lodge dining room and the waitresses/waiters are hilarious and amazing. Whenever we stay I call ahead to make our dinner reservations as they get busy with a small staff. We always stay in the waves room and it’s absolutely beautiful. See you in September! Rest in Peace Herb ❤️

My partner and I stayed at Cove Point Lodge for our anniversary this August.|Overall, the lodge had some nice amenities and a very homey cabin look and feel.|The hot tub, sauna, and pool were great, and we loved that it was adult-only from 9 pm to 11 pm. What really makes the lodge special is being right on the shoreline and having some walking trails that lead to the rocky shore. We spent most of our time out there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching the sunset in a place like this, less than a two-minute walk from where you are staying, was magical and a game changer. It was also very close to both of the main parks being Gooseberry Falls and Jettegouche. We were able to explore these parks nicely and come back very fast to our room for a quick shower and an evening on the shoreline. We did not eat at the lodge as the prices were very very steep for what people were getting.|We did grab two drinks at the bar which were small, but tasty!||Overall, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the policies and answered every question we had. I was originally skeptical about the morning breakfast being different from what you normally find, but it was actually great!|So many things to choose from with selections like bagels, Nutella, peanut butter, honey, crackers, salami, cheese, apple and orange juice, cereal, and toasted bread. The cleanliness of the rooms was top-notch. We stayed in the Queen Loveseat with a window, and the view of the lake was amazing. They even had a large AC unit that was not advertised, so the room stayed cool and not humid while we were there. Everything was neat, organized, and ready for us when we arrived.||The only reason this stay was not a 5/5 is the price point. I can obviously understand it being summer and prices being higher as a result of tourism, but it added up to a little over 300 a night. Granted, we got their couples package that came with chocolates, couples cards, wine, and keepsake glasses, but the keepsake glasses were just regular glass cups with the price tags still on the bottom of them. I think for that price point, there should be something else provided, but the amenities were amazing and made for a really good anniversary trip. If you can venture out here and get a good deal for it, I would go.

Over all I was really impressed with this resort. While it does need some updating, the main lodge was clean and the staff were mostly pleasant especially when checking in. The king room we stayed in was spacious, bed was comfortable, but chairs and table are outdated and not comfortable to sit on ( also ceiling fan and ceiling should be cleaned asap) We loved the amenities throughout the grounds. The food at the restaurant was really good. We would go back.

My family and I ate here and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. We waited for our food for well over an hour, and during this time our waitress didn’t come up to us except for one time to refill our drinks. We ordered a pizza which came out 15 minutes before our other food and it was not hot. We ordered 3 cheeseburgers and a Philly cheesesteak along with the pizza and it took well over an hour for our food to be brought out to us. Along with the long wait time the prices were through the roof. A cheeseburger with chips was $18 and it was a $2 up charge for fries. The prices were steep and the menu was very limited.

Spent the day hiking around the area. Walked down by the lake and decided to try the Cove restaurant. I was a bit stinky and sweaty from my day (I am not staying at this resort) but the view and outdoor fire were too much to resist. The prices were a bit on the high side, but I tried the stuffed walleye - it was absolutely amazing. Oh my gosh, I ate the whole thing and would have considered licking the plate, if there were no people around. My waitress, Emma was delightful. Great day!

The restaurant requires reservations only but it did not seem busy at all when we arrived. Overall we were very underwhelmed dining here. We thought we would get a nice dinner for my Birthday, but we were wrong. For one it was way overpriced. I ordered steak, mash potatoes and carrots. The steak had 0 flavor. The mash potatoes were bland, no gravy, butter or anything to go with them. The carrots were good but were the tiniest serving. Wasn't worth out time or money.

My first visit to Cove Point Lodge was in July 2025. I can't wait to return. We loved the location and view of Lake Superior was amazing. Falling asleep and waking up to hear the lake waves was so relaxing. We enjoyed the breakfast, smores by the fireside, pool and hot tub. The staff is so friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

We are having a very nice time away from our busy lives back home, very relaxing and nice. Cool weather temps, nice to get away from the heat and humidity back home in the cities. I would recommend Cove Point. The cottages are very nice, a few pics out our patio window.

Great stay in this lovely hotel. It is a little dated but that is part of the charm! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The lodge’s setting is beautiful, the staff friendly and we really enjoyed the dinners overlooking the lake - the food was of a high standard.

This is a great place to stay and is perfect for all types of travelers. The room and view we had was fantastic, the staff was welcoming and informative, the restaurant--staff, menu choices, and food--was excellent, and the ambience of the lodge fit its surroundings perfectly. While I was very happy with my entire experience there, I was most impressed with how well the lodge caters to visitors of all types: e-bike rentals for families; colored pencils and booklets for children; games, books, and movies; local artwork for purchase; and, printed maps with directions to and photos of nearby waterfalls and other attractions (to name but a few things available to guests). Highly recommended if you are on your way through the area or are looking for a place to stay as a destination along the lake shore.

The location by the shore is great, but we had some concerns. We had a second floor room with a balcony. We accessed the balcony via a sliding patio door. At the end of the door where the door latches was a plastic panel. A portable A C unit vented via a hose through through the plastic panel. The problem was the door butted against the panel which resulted in leaving a slight crack between the door and the panel. This allowed cool air into the room. Considering what we paid for the room this was not acceptable. |The bed also was not as comfortable as we would have liked. One side of the bed was very close the wall, barely allowing enough room to get in bed on that side. My wife sleeps on that side and uses a CPAP machine. We had to put a suitcase next to the bed on which to put her CPAP machine.|It was a somewhat disappointing experience in general.

I have been going to Covepoint twice a year for 5+ years. We love the location. When we first started going, the staff was extremely friendly and the lodge and cabins were in great shape. Recently, we noticed that the rooms seemed in need of updating. The pool room had a large area where the paint was peeling off on the ceiling. There was not a sign to indicate it was under construction or in need of repair. We had a bad experience with service (lack of) during a evening power outage that lasted several hours. The front desk team was not apologetic or helpful in navigating the outage for the guests. We were on our own in the dark with no plumbing. We finally asked for a bottle of water and a flashlight. There was no offer of accommodation for the inconvenience. I filled out their survey to share my concerns and I never heard back. I was hopeful I would receive a response given that I am a loyal customer. I don't know why they send out a survey if they don't take the time to respond. Sadly, I will probably find a new place to stay on the north shore.

We are addicted to staying at the Cove Point Lodge hotel rooms. We have stayed many times, in many different room layouts and we choose to stay here every time we take trips to the north shore. The staff is always kind, and very accommodating. Rooms are always clean, beds are quite comfortable and the views are always perfect.

My partner and I have been up multiple times to stay at Cove Point. The first time we were there, we fell in love with the place and decided it would be our annual get away. The staff are fantastic, personable, and very professional. The food is great, the various venues on the property are great, and I feel like I discover something new every time I go back.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in one of the Cove Side cottages for a late winter getaway. The cottage was very nice and had a great view. The kitchen was equipped with all the basic utensils needed for cooking, beds and baths were nice and clean. Wifi worked well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was quiet and peaceful, with amazing scenery as you'd expect on the North Shore. Overall, a very nice experience.

Pros: The biggest highlight of cove point is really the exterior resort, one of the prettiest on the north shore from the cove, fish house, proposal point, exterior architecture design. The staff we encountered were friendly and polite. Prices were reasonable compared to other big resorts. The cottages were right on the lake and you could fall asleep to waves. Unit was clean. I can't comment much on service as we only checked in but in the few passing the staff were polite and welcoming. Cons: Once you arrive the lodge rooms are dated and small. Pool and hot tub are what you would expect from a motel. We've stayed inside the lodge before and recently rented a South fjord cottage. Both did not meet expectations in comparison to all the other big resorts on the north shore and our experiences in those lake homes/ cottages/ resort rooms. The pictures on the web for the south fjords were falsely advertise, what we had looked nothing like the pictures on the website. The decor and furniture in our south fjord unit was mistched, toaster didn't work, all Teflon coated pots and pans, cheap kitchen cooking utensils, carpets need replacement, doors on showers didn't slide with ease, layout of unit was choppy/ didn't flow well, some end table lamp didn't work, odd lightning which created at times errie ambience, kitchen lacked counter space, some of the most depressing bedroom or lack of decor I've seen on the northshore, dirty particles out of hot tub jets, parking was not behind the cottage - so you had to unload/ load then park. Never been to a hotel/resort where guests need to take their trash to the dumpsters. Really wanted to love Cove point, but unfortunately this will be the last time we stay here. I'm sure if you can see pass some of the frustrations we experienced, perhaps you may enjoy your stay. We come to the Northshore year round and love Lake Superior, this was the first time I was ready to go home. Hopefully there will be renovations/ updates in the near future.

Such a cute, COZY getaway spot, even in the winter! We stayed in one of the lodge double queen rooms and it was clean with a great view of the lake & COMFY beds. Love the lounge area on the first floor with a wood burning fireplace, puzzles, games, watercolors/crayons/colored pencils, DVDs for your room, free sugar cookies, smores supplies and coffee & tea (all day), nice little gift shop, bar/restaurant... endless things to keep you busy. They even have art to purchase throughout the walls. James at the front desk was the best!! He was so friendly & accommodating!
