Got my car towed recently but the staff (Jason) was very kind and friendly to me. He was very helpful and I was in and out within like 15 minutes and was able to get my car. He also gave me some tips to put on alerts to avoid towing in the future.

Nice and helpful staff nothing much else to say, payed $222 and a $45 ticket but it was my fault so can’t really complain.

Staff was polite and helpful, despite what I'm sure is a job with a lot of obnoxious interactions.

Sure it’s unfortunate the parameters of the situation, but my fault for being so damn impatient and nonchalant about reading further into the parking sign, rather than solely relying on the meter I was parked at. Regardless, one of the meter folks I spoke with the night of, detailing how I managed to get towed and shared the information with me on where to go the next morning, as well as at the folks at the lot, were all really friendly, personable, empathetic and just awesome.

Have current tabs/registration, insurance policy information, valid driver's license, and money to pay. If you do it can take as little as 5 minutes to get processed. Takes longer driving out than speaking with the clerk.

This city of Minneapolis is robbing people off of their money and they do it legally parked my car in a designated parking area and they still towed it just because they can do it under rubbish unlawful authority No sign that says WILL be TOWED and still they keep off practicing this rubbish action to the residents.

Staff are exceptionally kind and friendly! Super impressive to see the empathy and patience with what I'm sure can be a very stressful job with upset customers. Very long wait time when I came in, and there was a mistake on my receipt that meant I had to ride the shuttle all the way back and wait in line a second time, which really sucked and took forever. Maybe the line isn't always super long, but it would be great to put a couple of chairs out there regardless. I'm disabled and cannot stand for very long. I had to sit on the floor while I was waiting with 15+ other people in line. (I'm sure I could have asked for a chair... if there was someone to ask, and if there weren't 15+ other people in line that wouldn't take kindly to me barging in front of them to talk to the only employee who was busy trying to manage a line of 15+ people.)

My vehicle was towed without letting me the reason. Woke up in the morning, come out and realized my vehicle was towed. They said that I parked at place where there is a sign stated that no temporary parking but there are no sign posted in my neighborhood. Funny how Minnesota call your state is Nice? , I paying the towed fee and citation for something that I didnt do.

We were towed. Came out to find our car gone! Imagine the heart rate... ticketed the day before then ticketed and towed the next. Great job Minneapolis. Your parking and signs sucked. 2 x $47 tickets and $138 to get it out of the impound... awesome part is I don't have to park on Minneapolis streets again! But the people at the impound were very professional and even looked at our photos sympathetically.

Kidnapping and Reckless Driving Incident Involving Tow Truck Driver On early Saturday morning at approximately 1am, I was a passenger in an Alfa Romeo parked idol outside of 126 N 5th St, Minneapolis, MN 55403 waiting for my friends to arrive. A tow truck operated by an unknown driver en route to an unknown location(at the time) quickly hinged my vehicle onto his truck. Only awaking from the sounds of screaming bystanders, I then jumped into the driver's seat turning on my hazards, honking and flashing my high-beams for the driver to let me out of this moving and perilous entrapment. During this trip, I witnessed pronounced reckless driving behavior that caused extreme concern for my safety and that of others on the road leading me to calling 911 twice. The driver knowingly drove recklessly with the intent of getting me to his destination promptly. The driver exhibited the following dangerous actions. 1.kidnapping, Defined by law as “to take or hold someone through force or fear; AND move, or make the person move, a substantial distance; AND, The other person didn't consent; AND, You didn't actually believe the person consented.” Forcefully taking someone anywhere without consent is not legal, and might be considered kidnapping. To the point I was only let out by the police 45 minutes after the incident began! The driver knowingly drove recklessly with the intent of getting me to his destination promptly. 2. Speeding. Throughout the journey, the driver was significantly over the speed limit, at times reaching speeds of 50 mph in a 25 mph zone. 3. Erratic Lane Changing. The driver changed lanes abruptly without signaling and frequently swerved between lanes, endangering both our safety and the safety of other vehicles. As the situation escalated, I became increasingly alarmed, pleading with the driver to slow down and stop. Despite my repeated requests, the driver dismissed my concerns and continued to drive recklessly. In a desperate attempt to grab the attention of nearby drivers and to signal for help, I continued flashing the emergency lights and honking the horn continuously. Despite these efforts, the driver remained unperturbed, showing no signs of slowing down. Other drivers appeared confused and distressed by the display, amplifying the chaotic environment on the road. During the ride, I tried to emphasize the dangers we were facing, but the driver's reckless behavior persisted. All I wanted was to safely pull over to reassess the situation for the sake of everyone’s safety. After over 20 minutes of continuous honking and yelling, the driver only finally brought the vehicle to a stop at its destination of 50 Van White Memorial Blvd, Minneapolis, MN 55405. I waited for the police to arrive and communicate with the driver to let me out of the elevated vehicle. I documented the incident in detail for reporting purposes and to contact the towing company’s management to inform them of the driver's reckless behavior to ensure that necessary actions are taken to prevent future occurrences. This driver who knowingly entrapped me for over 30 minutes, bringing me to an unknown location and then abandoning me in the cold in the middle of the night needs to be Charged! The driver's actions were not only reckless but posed significant dangers to passengers, other motorists, pedestrians, and myself. It is crucial that such behavior be addressed by the towing company promptly to maintain safety for all road users.

The staff are unprofessional, refuse to give any helpful information, the city gives no warning on towing, and the area is completely inaccessible. If I could give negative stars I would!

Blocking driveways apparently takes you to these guys and you have to give them money to get it back!!! The nerve. Didn't love having to do that... so 3 stars

I waited.for an hour for customer service to answer and yet no one has answer the phone so I just hung up. Tried a second time and it still took them forever so I just gave up. No customer should have to wait an hr or longer to get customer services, the least 30mins but an hour is just to long and they don't have call back either. Just poor customer service . Just straight garbage. What kind of people does the city of Minneapolis have working there.

I meet all the requirements to get my car out the impound but the guy behind the glass wants to argue with me over stuff not related to the issue. He told me my tabs expired in January but all my paperwork and state registration say they May. So now my car is going to be auctioned off. Give 1 guy a little bit of power and they'll try to mess your whole life up. I've also spent 11 hours on hold trying to get through to someone over the phone over the last 2 days.

Well I dint really wanna give any stars because Minneapolis needs to find a better way to alert people of street sweeping. Some people work from home & don't leave the house for 3 days & miss the signs. However it was a relatively easy process to get our vehicles back & good customer service experience. Based on all the things I've heard, it wasn't that bad. Other than being stupid & expensive to get 2 vehicles out.

This gotta be the worst impound ever . The staff there are so rude. They don’t even want to reason with you and they talk to you like they have all the power in the world. I don’t normally do reviews but I had to do this one cause it was such a terrible experience. If I could leave zero stars I would for sure. I wasn’t even mad my car got towed I got there trying to talk to the lady about my situation and she was giving me attitude right off. Like I’m already dealing with something and now I have to put up with your disgusting attitude too?

Lady at the desk was patient, kind and extremely helpful. Had to wait on a fax and or email for insurance to come through and it took a minute but want her to know she was appreciated.

Highly unprofessional. As I was standing in line a customer started chewing one of the staff out. The staff member then proceeded to call him names back, screaming mind you. Saying whatever and acting as if he isn’t representing the city of Minneapolis. So then I get stuck dealing with this amazing employee of the city of Minneapolis. Him and the other older gentlemen working the window continue to make remarks about this young man’s appearance, calling him a crackhead and high on drugs. Which, he just seemed angry to me. Not high on something. We do our process. I pick up the car I was there to tow out (I tow cars out of there daily). Next day comes and my co worker is telling me about how these two sat and told him that I looked like a crack head and then proceeded to show him a copy of my license. Said they thought I was a female. Just beyond rude. Why is a staff of the city of Minneapolis showing other people my information that I wouldn’t show otherwise. HIGHLY HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Said incident happened around 12- 4 am on 1/23/24

Honestly it sucks big time to get your car towed but everyone working here was so calm, kind, and patient it was actually a positive experience. Kudos to the security officer, the youngish black woman who processed my information, and the gentleman who drove the shuttle. Y’all made a bad experience into an okay one

To anyone scrolling through reviews for the Minneapolis Impound Lot: remember that the majority of negative sentiments stem from the frustration of having a vehicle towed. It's crucial to note that it's not the impound lot that tows your vehicle, but rather the towing company. So directing anger and dissatisfaction towards the impound lot might not be entirely justified. My experience with the impound lot was smooth, direct, and helpful. I was working with my insurance regarding a totaled car, and the lot staff kept me consistently updated. From details about my insurance assessor's visit to allowing me to inspect my vehicle, their service was commendable. However, I must mention one hiccup. There was a larger African-American lady, positioned as security between the booth staff behind the glass and the transport buses. She was consistently on her phone, loudly chatting with a friend, while attendees like myself had questions. This was not only unprofessional but also quite disrespectful, especially as it occurred during peak times like lunch. Setting that aside, the overall experience was positive. The lot took care of my vehicle and facilitated smooth interactions with my insurance company. They were proactive in updating me about potential additional charges if the car stayed longer. Kudos to the staff (with one notable exception) for ensuring the security and safety of towed vehicles. If your car ends up in the impound lot, remember, it's generally a result of your actions, not the impound lot's fault. So, keeping emotions in check can help you navigate the process better. Based on my experience and their service, I award them a five-star rating.

Economically this place sucks but is necessary to avoid more chaos. And the prices, tho we hate them and they seem high, are reflective of our economy. If the prices were lower, low lives would be more careless, negatively affecting those who follow the rules.

This is the best government agency in Minneapolis (maybe America). Everyone was extremely kind, helpful, and positive. We arrived fifteen minutes before close and everyone working here was wonderful. Very efficient. Left feeling optimistic despite the circumstances of a towed vehicle!

The ONLY positive thing about this place is the nice man that helped me at the window (gentleman with glasses). Other than him, this place was horrible. If you need to go, plan on being there for awhile. Waited for 30 mins, the “security van” pulled up only for the security guard to tell me I had to wait for the van to come back since it was full. All I wanted to do was see the condition of my stolen vehicle & I couldn’t even do that.

Really nice guy assuring us on our car that was stolen and founded in this pound. Had a great attitude and very informative about insurance and helping us with a solution and very knowledgeable about his view. its a great place but unfortunate for our situation of our car getting jacked by someone but very friendly staffed made felt more compassion.

5 stars for the impound lot? I know right? Whirl it sucked getting our car towed, the gentleman that helped us wasn't rude and was surprisingly helpful. Answered all of our questions and made sure it was an effortless hassle free interaction. We got our car in less than 15 minutes. Good customer service.

Always take your time and find the right place for parking otherwise these suckers will take your car. They have no compassion or humanity whatsoever. And it's pity our government helped them for running their fraudulent businesses. Especially on weekends they are hiding like hyenas trying to tow people cars. I hope there is better system comes in place to stop their illegal practices.
