Title washed my car as clean. Customer service is non existent and the yard said it "was fine" uhh no, that's illegal!!

Terrible customer service. They damaged my vehicle and multiple parts were disassembled or really loose as if their employees were going to part it out if it was going to be sold at auction, in my opinion. I ended up buying it back so I had to reassemble multiple items to get it back into working order. They claim they are not liable for anything. None of the damages or disassembled parts were part of the original accident. I would stay far away from this place. I don't usually write reviews but this place is shady and took full advantage of the situation.

Today I went to copart to gather items out of my car. When I arrived they had already gone through all of my personal belongings and put some stuff in the trunk. I shortly realized that many items were missing out of my car. They even took all my change that was in my cup holders. When I went inside to talk to the manager about it he got so defensive and said that he had no idea where my missing items were. I contacted my insurance agent and let him know the situation, he told me by law they are not aloud to touch anything in your vehicle until you sign off. I have already contacted the police department to start an investigation. Copart needs to be investigated by the police for theft. DO NOT HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED HERE. THEY WILL STEAL EVERYTHING VALUABLE IN YOUR VEHICLE!!!!

I’ve visited Copart locations all over the country and the staff here is the absolute best! Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work!

Bought my salvaged vehicle back from insurance and they paid Copart to deliver the vehicle back to me. Copart never called the day they brought it back, and left it sitting in the street. City has ordinances against salvaged vehicles being parked in the street, so now I have to have a tow company move the vehicle into the driveway. Very poor service.

Usually a half hour to hour to get all paper work done. Gals are very efficient and know their job well

I would never buy a vehicle from these people. They are the rudest people I've ever met. This guy broke down at Casey's and I helped him jump. His pickup truck and we went back to copart To see if they could help they wouldn't even listen. I recommend anybody don't buy a vehicle from these people.

Went up to Ham Lake to help a neighbor clean out her car, car had not been picked up from the towing service north of the capital in St. Paul so they gave us the address to drive there. 118 Acker St. is locked with nobody answering the door, called back up to Ham Lake and got a phone number who said they're open by appointment only and could have someone there in 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour, went to get some lunch, 10 minutes later as Magnolia's is serving us lunch the towing service calls to tell us Coparts is there to pick up the car and will be leaving shortly. After eating we had to drive back up to Ham Lake to clean out the car. Never want to have anything to do with them again.

10:35am, Friday. Ladies taking their time to process requests. Rachel doing a “great” job. I wish I was paid by hour, so I could waste other people time. This copart has almost no customers, what would happen if several people came in? Would this place collapse?

The lady that helped me made a good effort. She apologized twice for the wait and said they were short staffed which I understand. The wait time was only around 15-20 minutes with the check in app. The check in app. was a little confusing because they never called my name, and I never received a call or text when it was my time to be helped. I had to show my phone to one of the employees to confirm that I was checked in. The buying fees are kind of high, but still a good value compared to purchasing a vehicle from a new car dealership.

Our truck was totaled in a wreck over a month ago. One would think the insurance company would contract with a more professional service to assist with the claims, towing, storage, and ultimately the disposal of the vehicle. This was definitively NOT the case. Over the past month: - They picked up the wrong truck. - They held the truck "hostage" while their mistake was sorted out before the adjuster had access to the vehicle to tell us if it was repairable or totaled. - WE ended up having to find a DIFFERENT tow company to come take the truck to their facility to have the adjusted review the truck, this took roughly 3 weeks to finally get it sorted to this point. - Truck was eventually found to be an obvious total loss (frame damage, A pillar moved, air bags deployed, etc. - The insurance company has been UP THEIR A$$ to get any movement on their part to finalize the claim process, just to be told we need to send the title to them via certified mail before payment can be released. - Crystal signed for the title sent via certified mail last week, but... THEY LOST THE TITLE. - Now we are being told we have to give them Limited Power of Attorney to obtain a duplicate title before final payment is released TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. - It's been 5 weeks and we can't purchase a replacement vehicle until this cluster is resolved. I like to think of myself as a fairly patient guy. I understand things happen. However, this whole process has been ugly, disappointing, and unduly overdrawn to the point that now my wife and I are being told we have to jump through more hoops due to their utter incompetence. I have contacted my attorney, and am looking into legal recourse. No, Copart, I will not be contacting your customer service team to inquire to what can be done, you've done enough. I'll update this post if this company decides to make this right. In the meantime, reevaluate your processes.

Had my vehicle taken here as part of an insurance total loss. The customer service was pretty bad and personal items I had left in my car were missing. I was given a vague time range for tow truck arrival and told I would be notified when a tow truck was on its way so that I could make my way home and give them the key, but I was only notified upon arrival, putting me in an unnecessary rush. I was also not notified that copart would be going through my personal items while state farm figured out what to do with my vehicle, I was under the impression copart would just store it until a decision was made. Instead, copart went through the car and scattered my personal belongings into the trunk in an unorganized mess. Upon gathering my items, I realized a pair of ray bans, a pair of oakleys, some loose change I keep for aldi carts, a walmart brand leatherman tool, and some free car wash coupons were missing (the cases for the leatherman and oakleys were both left empty in the trunk). Furthermore, a few days before I went to get all of those items, some of the items I had left in my car were deemed unsafe for storage: my concealed carry handgun (probably an unwise decision on my part, but I keep it in a locked glovebox - there's no getting in without the key or completely dismantling it) and a large buck knife (really?). So I now have to take time out of my day to go meet a sheriff and collect these items (sheriff was really helpful in this process though!) All because copart wanted to play with my things. Looking at the other reviews, I'm not really surprised anymore, just disappointed.

Guys, don't buy from Copart. First its not worth the car after you fix it. The parts and labor are so costly that have high risk of loosing money plus all the hidden Feeses from Copart. I tried two times and both the times I end up in a bad situation. So, go for something to buy from marketplace or craigslist where you can negotiate with the seller. Secondly, copart sells trash and their customer service is a trash. I asked for broom to clean my car before towing and she gave me a broken one saying this is what I have. Then, I found out the car had a flat tire, so requested for a pump, and after spending one hour outside in snow and cold conditions, I realized the tank is empty and she absolutely did showed any remorse Overall, considering hours you loose in fixing the car and parts plus labor plus all hidden charges, its not worth. Trust me :) Life is precious, go and save money somewhere else.....

Pros: The 5 stars are specifically for Rachel at the counter, who was extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. My car ended up here due to an accident and insurance was extremely non-communicative with me about it. Rachel walked me through what happened and helped me get my belongings out of the car--she even reminded me to get my garage door opener. CONS: As others have noted, it's the Wild West out there in regards to your belongings. Rachel mentioned that your belongings get moved out of your car into the trunk "for safekeeping"... well, lo and behold several items were missing from my car, including a pair of gloves that retailed at $60 and of course my phone charger. I don't blame the folks at the counter for this, it's not their fault and naturally I can't prove anything as the car was at an impound lot prior to Copart. Just DO NOT EXPECT YOUR BELONGINGS TO BE SAFE HERE. My advice to everyone is to come get your stuff ASAP. OH--and stay super vigilant on the premises. A sketchy guy (I don't think he worked there, to be fair) walked by and swiped something from my trunk WHILE I WAS STILL EMPTYING MY CAR. Pretty brazen. I called him out and he gave my stuff back, but this reaffirmed to me that this is not a safe place where you want anything of yours to end up!

I've picked up a handful of vehicles from Copart, and made many lot visits. Each time I'm greeted with helpful and knowledgable staff. When I'm picking up vehicles, the loaders are careful in picking and loading onto my trailer to prevent (additional) damage, and the office/paperwork process is painless and pretty quick.

All paperwork needs to be processed and picked up at this location if your vehicle is located at the sublot off of Bunker Lake Blvd. You need to download the Copart Transport app and make an appointment to pickup your vehicle. You also need to mark arrived in the app when you are on the premises for your vehicle to be retrieved. They make mistakes with paperwork and gave out the wrong title for a different vehicle. Double check everything and do not assume the office staff will handle it correctly. Expect the vehicle to possibly have a dead battery that is not capable of being jumped, no fuel and also flat tire(s). The pictures online are not a great representation of the condition of the vehicle. Take the effort to visit the yard and inspect the vehicle yourself before bidding. Do not assume that the run and start description means that the vehicle will run and start. There is no guarantee. The process for receiving the title and plates takes a few weeks and are sent via mail. Expect numerous fees to be added to the final price after winning the bid. Look on the website for details about fees. The hassle involved with trying to pick up the car and move it out of the yard within a 3 day timeframe during daytime business hours along with the risk associated with buying something as is and the extra fees involved, makes the process of buying a vehicle from Copart undesirable. Don't get involved with buying an auction vehicle unless you are serious about putting in the necessary effort to overcome all the obstacles that occur.

Copart-Minneapolis North is my favorite location. Staff have always been friendly and helpful. Transactions always have been smooth, just have all your necessary documentation and proper payment. This often slows things up...they can't fix stupid. The rules are clearly posted online as well as any other information one would need. If more people took the time to go to the website and read up, there would be less wait time.

This review is form a first time buyer (individual/non-business). To begin, everything went smoothly. COPART is obviously a "well-oiled" machine and they know what they are doing. However, a few unexpected surprises that I encountered costing me a fortune... 1 - I firmly believe that Copart should have a description option that clearly states when an engine and/or transmission is a complete failure. I purchased a vehicle that did not have the "Running and Driving" description...okay not a big deal, I can fix that. EXCEPT...you cannot fix an engine that has 3 massive holes in the the block and no connecting rods or pistons left to be seen. They did not take images of this damage nor did they mention anything of it in the description or listing. This is the sole reason my star rating is low. 2 - Which is more of a service announcement than really anything else as it was my own fault for not realizing - the bid price you place and agree too does NOT include Copart fees OR sales tax and title transfer fees. Those are all additional. With that being said I remove no stars for this as it was not of any fault to Copart. Had I not received a vehicle with a complete failure of an engine which added well over $4000 to my material costs (labor is "free" of course), my star rating would be a 5/5. I do recommend buying from Copart, but do so without any haste! I am a forgiving person and am likely to purchase from Copart again in the future, but I will be far more cautious making sure I do not buy a vehicle that seems "too good to be true."

Went in to inquire on how to buy cars, the customer service lady is helpful and she showed me all I needed to do. Anyways everything is online, and the lady she familiar with alot dealers and she's knew them by their names, that was awesome.

Copart-Minneapolis North is a pretty customer friendly place. They have the covid-response plan going but still talk to you and listen to your questions or concerns. Also they seem to have the vehicle transfer paperwork down pat and the place is neat. On the phone they respond well. No rudeness at all. BUT, buyer beware. It is the nature of their business that you buy as-is, where-is. So thoroughly inspect whatever you want to buy BEFORE you bid.

Was forced to deal with Ham lake Copart through my insurance. Pick up for my vehicle was scheduled, then followed by no call no shows three days in a row. After pickup my vehicle was delivered to the wrong lot and apparently lost by their staff. They claimed Title and Vehicle had to be at the same lot for them to release paperwork to my Insurance agency. Their mishandling of the situation delayed my insurance payment for a week. I have honestly never had to deal with a more incompetent organization.

Most fees I have ever been charged an a online auction. Bought a Ice Castle on the online auction and was way over charged. Bought the Ice Castle 11/26/2019 late afternoon before thanksgiving was down in Georgia for my brothers graduation at infantry school. Went to pick the Ice Castle Up on Monday 12/2 Thanksgiving was on prior Thursday. The balance was $11,140 I had a credit card with a limit of $10000 to pay with but they said I needed to put it all on one credit card. I told them I needed to put $10,000 on one card and the balance on the other since the one has a limit of $10,000. Copart also had $2500 held on another credit card. They said it all has to be done with one transaction. So I then drove 1.5 hours back to my bank and go ta cashiers check for the full amount and went back the next day. They then added a fee for $39 they could not tell me what it was for. So this was not true that they could not take two forms of payment because they did in fact take two forms of payment cashiers check + the $39.50 fee they could not explain. They added it on the invoice. I listed off the extra fees below. I have to say the $39.50 fee was the one I was most upset about because they could not explain what it was for and it was added on the invoice on the last day when I picked it up. Buyer Fee $1275 Virtual Bid Fee $129 Gate Fee $59 11/30 Storage fee $5 11/30 Late Payment fee $50 I uploaded a form to do ACH on my bank account and it had not processed not my fault 12/2 Storage Fee $25 12/3 Storage Fee $20 12/3 $39.50 Fee they added on last minute and could not tell me what it was for $1602.50 Total fees with out the title transfer fees and without the sales tax. I am also tax exempt but they will not allow me to purchase tax exempt because I do not have a dealer license. I do not need a dealer license to rent out Ice houses so I had to file for a refund on the sales tax they would not accept my MN ST3 tax form.

I started my "Premium" membership with Copart in 2018 and paid $650 to get this. I was informed that my limit would be increased beyond the standard $1000 limit. I've tried 3 times now to get this corrected with no luck. I just get a lot of "I'm so sorry to hear that" from member services after waiting 10-30 minutes on hold each time OMG so frustrating!! It's so sad that they don't just do what they're supposed to and give their customers what they pay for. I can only hope that Google reviews will somehow will wake them up to their shortcomings. Copart as a company is terrible and I've lost more time and money from dealing with them then anyone should ever have to. This is what happens to businesses when they get too big for their own good.

If I could give no or negative stars I would. My daughter had set up to have her car picked up at a repair shop today & towed away. They gave her the ‘window’ of 12-5. Since my daughter had to work, I said I would meet them at the repair shop & they were supposed to call me en route to it. At 4:40 I still hadn’t heard anything & they close at 5. So I called & they checked & said that dispatch said the tow truck driver would be calling me soon. So I got into my car & drove to the repair shop because that closed at 6 & I wanted to get her keys from them to hand over along with the title to the vehicle that I had. When I got to the repair shop, her car was gone! They told me someone came from Coparts & picked it up at 2:30! There was no check left for my daughter even though there was a note on their end saying to do so. The men at the repair shop said that when they came to get the car, they asked who to write the check to, but the repair shop told them they didn’t know & to contact the owner of the vehicle. My daughter also wanted her key chain back. But they took her car, key & keychain, didn’t leave a check & didn’t get the title. Very poorly run. And when I talked with Coparts at 4:40, no one told me the car had already been picked up! They said they would be calling me soon. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very poor service & communication to the tow truck drivers. Beware!

There are no complaints at all to the office workers, at least I have never had any problems with them. But forklift drivers create problems. Every time I wait more than an hour to pick up a couple of cars. None of them was polite to me yet: I didn’t put my truck in the right way, the driver didn’t has breakfast properly and therefore he couldn’t work quickly, etc. They are very slow!

Nov 27, 2018 -
Well I'm not happy with this place. My dad and I went to their sub lot to get some things from my old car. I would think that they would check all of the vehicles that they decide to haul with their forklifts or at least mark them at the beginning of the day so they know what's what. My dad parked in a bad spot so I'll give them that. But for real, towing my dads truck, a truck that had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. They could have damaged it with their forklift
