We've been longtime customers of Walter’s Recycling and Refuse, and I want to take a moment to recognize one of their drivers, Tou. Today, after dumping our garbage, a few loose items fell out of the basket - and Tou took the time to pick them up without hesitation. No one was watching, and he could’ve easily kept going, but instead he went the extra mile. That kind of integrity and care deserves to be acknowledged. Thank you, Tou, for your dedication and for representing Walter’s so well!

I switched to Walter’s for a better price. I got that and better service as a bonus. Their yard waste collection has saved me more than a dozen trips to the compost site. I like being able to speak with a real person when I need to. Great local company!

Priced checked for garbage when we bought our home 2 years ago. Walters was the cheapest. I didn't think about other factors at the time. One time we got missed and my son was having a party over the weekend. I called and they had someone come right over and empty it. Otherwise I wasn't too concerned. I've talked to customer service 1 other time and they are just so pleasant and kind. I'm very happy with Walter's!

Walter's Recycling is my go to choice and for referrals to friends and family. I switched to Walter's after many poor experiences with their competitors (The worst experience being with Curbside) and was very pleased with the consistent professional service I have received. I would recommend Walter's to everyone!

Walter’s recycling and refuse has been nothing but amazing! We have asked for extra bins for our recycling and garbage in the past and they have delivered them at our very next pick up!! Other company’s we have used in the past it takes at least a couple phone calls before they ever fulfill our request! All in all, we are very satisfied!

We use Walters for all of our refuse needs. The best. They’re on it every week and when we need additional services like dumpsters or something, it’s a quick call and they show. Great company with great people.

Have been a customer for at least 20 years. Walter's employees always answer the phone and are so kind and helpful. No matter what my questions or concerns are, Walter's have never left me dissatisfied. As far as I am concerned, there is no better Recycling and Refuse Company! A salesman came by and asked my husband if he wanted their service and my husband said that he'd think about it and then called yesterday (7/14/25) to definitively to say no thanks kindly even tbough he was not obligated to and never signed up for anything but they came out 7/15/25 morning and put a bin on our property anyway (almost woke my 11 month old by bringing a bin up by closer to his window instead of at the end of the driveway like normally trash services do) Now I am emailing them as this is written to come get their bin off our property and wouldn't switch to them if we ever did switch just because of their lack of regard (obviously) on what the customers are communicating to them. Update: I spoke with my husband since writing this and it seems the saleman/Walters employee gave him false information. What a scam this company is! It appears when he came out to our house a few weeks ago, the employee told my husband and (I quote) pointed to our garbage can -which is a 96 oz size and told him it would be HALF the price if we switched to them with our current garbage trash service bin size. Turns out that was COMPLETELY false as a 64 oz size was dropped off at our house (NOT SURE WHY) and turns out that he blatantly lied to my husband that the 64 oz wasn't even half our price we are currently paying with another trash service AND the garbage bin size in their 96 oz size we have was the EXACT same price as we are paying now so that wouldn't be worth it to switch, what the heck even....! My husband was informed by the same Walters employee that he wasn't signing up but would receive an email and could say "yes sign me up" or "no thanks." Looks like that is false too. What a nightmare. To make matters worse when my husband called them today 7/15/25 to ask why the heck we recieved a bin dropped off at our house that they wouldn't come until NEXT Tuesday. A whole week with their bin taking up room and sitting on our property which they didnt have our permission to be on it in the 1st place, never gave them that permission. They better come get it asap or I WILL put else where and dump it somewhere...anywhere else than on our property because we shouldn't have had that happen in the 1st place.

Had a young fella hover-board up to me while I was in my front yard. I typically don't like solicitors bothering me when I'm at home. But the whole hover-board thing intrigued me. Ethan was a very pleasant young man and made a great sales pitch, one I just couldn't pass up. I told him I'd think about it, and asked him to come back. I mean, I really DIDN'T have to think about it, but you never make decisions like that on the spot. So eventually I sign up and I'm awaiting cart delivery. Well, Google won't let me add a separate review for Laura, the best Customer Service Agent on the planet. I had to push my service start date back until Aug 1st. The conversation I had with Laura was like chatting with an old friend. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and had the cutest Minnesotan accent. She answered all my questions thoroughly, even went above and beyond to figure out taxes and fees (sorry for making you do math). If Ethan and Laura are examples of the type of employees Walter's hires then I am very glad I made the switch.

Best waste and recycling company. No hidden fees or extra charges. Just good service. I added another account after purchasing a new apartment building and my bill at other sites went down. I’ve worked with other companies but now all of my buildings are with Walters.

I normally have trash pickup on Mondays, but since I was leaving for vacation on Saturday, I didn’t put my bin out early because I didn’t want it getting knocked over by the wind while we were gone. We had planned to just wait until the next pickup. But to my surprise, they were kind and thoughtful enough to come by, pull my bin to the curb, and take care of the trash anyway. Truly above and beyond service…highly recommend!

And while some of our neighbors have tried other refuse services over the years, they have all since signed up for Walter's. Walter’s reliability and customer service is top notch … plus I love that they are a local and family-owned/operated company!

Walters significantly increases prices. Customer service is lacking- rude customer service agents that talk over you. They do not provide annual invoice in advance to allow 30day required notice to cancel. Would not recommend unless you enjoy being spoken to in a condescending tone.

They do such an amazing job at my home in fridley, they are on time for every service. All of their online portals and even the app are very easy to use. Very refreshing after what I went through with the last company.

I've been using Walters Recycling and Refuse for over 2 years, and I couldn't be happier with their service. They're consistently on time, and my trash and recycling are always picked up without a hitch. The drivers are courteous and respectful of my property, never leaving a mess behind. I’ve been using Walter's for about three years now, and they’ve been fantastic! Prior to switching, I was with a different trash company and regularly experienced delays in service. Since moving to Walter's, I’ve never had a missed or skipped service day. Whenever I call for extra service, the staff is always friendly and helpful. We've had Walter's for many years. Always great and friendly service, always the first to pu in our area. Today I had stuffed a boat cover into my bin, then a bunch of stuff on top of that, so it was very tight. After truck went by, I noticed that the cover was still stuck in my bin. I called Walter's and spoke to a very nice woman that put me back on the schedule. I loosened stuff and truck was back in 15min, emptied fine! Thank you Walter's!! So glad we use your great service!!

Their Customer Service is great! I switched to Walters last fall due to another company not following thru with their Yard Waste pickup. Walter took care of me with 2 weeks left in the season. Then we moved this spring, and Walters made the transition from the old house to the new house effortless for us.

Been with Walters for a couple of years now. Contract expired and rates went up. Curbside gave me a better deal/contract. Walters could not match, so I cancelled the service. However, since I am a good customer and prepaid my bill early, I am on the hook for the rest of the service cycle 2-3 months out, even if I cancel early. Walters does not refund prepaid billing cycles. This means I can't switch over till August. I feel like I was penalized for being a good customer and paying on time. Not the greatest last impression for Walters and not a great way to treat your customers.

We’ve been with Walter’s about 3 years now and I can honestly say they’re the most reliable service we’ve ever had. We also appreciate being able to talk to a live and local customer service rep if we ever need to. I can see why they’ve been voted Minnesota’s best the last 4 years in a row.

Just started with Walters and so far very happy with them. Prices are comparable with other haulers for residential trash but they beat the service I did have when it comes to yard waste by a mile. Better than twice the amount allowed for basically the same price and, somebody over there has some serious smarts, they give you an extra container for the same price. Saves time and effort for their employees (they don't have to get out of the truck to pickup bags) and saves me time and money (don't have to buy bags or fill them which is somewhat more difficult than filling a container). Got my neighbor to go with them as well for the same reasons. Would recommend them to anyone looking for this type of service.

Have had Walters for 7 years now and have never had a pick up issue! They have been nothing but quality service every week. Have only had 1 billing question/issue during this time as well (regarding the significant increase in price others have mentioned),emailed their customer service, and they responded within an hour going above and beyond. Hard to see myself ever leaving Walters if they keep up the great work.

UPDATE 12/27/24: WOW! Walters just called. They asked about my review below and asked how to keep me as a customer. I'm highly impressed with this and will be staying with their service which I have always been satisfied. Thank you for being committed to your customers and we are to you! My neighbors and I switched to Walters many years ago. They've always provided good service. However, in 2024, my bill has steadily increased by over 50%. I called and asked them about it but they had no explanation for the large increase. I hate to switch companies but this much of an increase is beyond reasonable.

Review Update: After posting this review they reached out right away to try to correct the issue. They offered a one time discount (1 month free) and would be speaking with their driver. 2 weeks later we had the same issue but after that we’ve had great service!! No more blocked driveway or dumped bins, Yay! HOWEVER my concern over the increased costs was never addressed and for that reason I am giving 4 stars. Original post: We moved to the area in 2018 and have been with Walter’s since then. At the beginning their service was great but not so much anymore… our prices have doubled and I don’t know what is going on with our recycling pick up!?? At first it was dropping it down wherever they felt like, then it was literally in the middle of our driveway over and over but now just yesterday they didn’t even get it emptied, dropped it to the ground and spilled recycling all over the lawn!! I drove down our road and everyone’s recycling bins were a mess! Please please please do something about your recycling driver, this has been going on for awhile and only getting worse.
