To George Horton regarding your experience with me relating to #1 and #2 copper. These are the required specs that I was taught. I didn't mean to come across rude in any way. I was simply trying to explain how the copper is bought from us and what the buyers classify as #1 and #2.
Very kind, helpful staff. Processed my scrap very quickly. Great price. Loved going here I could tell all of the employees really value their jobs. Rare to see nowadays. Will certainly go back if I have a need in the future!
I have been there a few times. They told me stuff about copper thar I didn't know. They give good money for stuff. I have trouble hearing the person behind the door where you cash out your receipt. They are a good place to go to
Great spot! I will be returning with more scrap from some house projects and "treasures" I find at curbs. Helpful staff, straight-forward transaction.
Helpful tips that I wish I had before going:
1. After getting a ticket from the person weighing your scrap, go to the kiosk next the scales and just slide the ticket under the window. (I stood there for a couple minutes confused.)
2. After getting your purchase ticket (with picture, signature, and thumbprint), simply go the left at the ATM-looking machine.
3. At the ATM-looking machine, scan your barcode and collect your cash!
I got Ripped off I had #1 and #2 copper. I Had them separated and they only paid me for # 2 copper. I went back and the guy that I Dealt with said that the copper Had to be 6 gauge or thicker to be #1 copper.so I goggled #1 copper and showed him and he said oh well its only 6 dollar difference. Get over it.here is a pic of him. I will not be returning to this scrap yard. They need to better train there people....
Cash for scrap metal. Pretty cool! Certainly beats throwing the stuff away, and it turns out copper and brass are worth a lot. A big armload of copper is worth a small truckload of iron, so sort that brown stuff out!
You've got to give your ID and a picture and a signature and a thumbprint to comply, but after that you'll leave with cash from an on-site ATM for every lb of metal you bring in. It is a neat operation and the people working there are really nice to first timers, they took the time to show me iron from copper from brass from Al Cu radiators. Recycling beats landfilling hands down. I wasn't paid to say that- but I got paid to do it!
I've been going there for 25 years good people fair prices. I don't go anywhere but there mostly I scrap appliances that's not worth fixing. I'm appliance technician.I go out repair appliances and I fix appliances and sell them.
One of the few places around that still buys all forms of scrap. Family ran and super friendly. Just don't expect to keep your truck clean, it's a bit muddy in there. Shout out to the invisible lady!!!!
I was helping a friend Recycle some Washers and Dryers I never they were worth anything so don't forget any old Metal items can put a few Dollars in your pocket!!
With the exception of the VERY RUDE not friendly AT ALL lady behind the window who does payouts.... makes you wait up to 5 minutes just for a ticket.
The guys are all great nice and friendly but Im all done being her whipping boy BS.
what a great economic decision to keep the meanest person you can find in Wayne and have your customers be greeted by that person as they leave.
How about a good morning or good afternoon or maybe have a good day or asking for a whole lot but how about a thank you please come again...why take your miserable life out on people?... take that back home to your husband... if indeed you can find one to put up with you.
No need to worry about me I found another one that pays $0.02 more a pound thank you weiser's you're making me more money without having to wait 5 minutes each time I come for my ticket.
By the way wiser I believe it's federal law you have to take a fingerprint of which you do not do
I've been driving from Ypsilanti to Wayne to go here because I like it there,but the lady at the window is extremely rude !!! Always !!! Very unprofessional !!! Didn't mail my voucher for my wire after last interaction !!! Its been a week still nothing !!!
Awesome, gentlemen that was helpful from Jesse and I can't remember the other gentleman a names but they were the best and professional I went there about 2years ago and they were great then so that's why I came back two days in a row you all are a 10 in my book thank you
The best scrap yard I've ever dealt with the guys inside are very knowledgeable very helpful and don't make you feel dumb to ask a question. The only place I will go now.
This is the only scrap yard me and my husband go to. They pay the best. They remember you as a customer. The yard is easy to get around in, every pile is labeled clearly.we came right when they closed one day, and they still let us take our scrap in. So grateful that they did let us in. 🙏👍we come here almost everyday and will continue to do so
Dont like how they always round down when you get paid. When inquiring about this I was told " these are sixty thousand dollar machines" meaning that's how we pay for them, by keeping everyone's 80 cents. What's the point of adding a couple of pounds of aluminum when it doesn't get you anymore money. They're just like, thanks for the free metal. But there the only yard nearby.
The workers at the scales are professional and courteous. It’s the attitude from the people inside the window that stinks. I understand that scrap metal business sometimes attracts the wrong people but to someone like me that works in a trade that produces some extra scrap on occasion, they’re just another employee with an attitude problem. I will keep looking to find the perfect place to take my bi-monthly scrap metal too. I got my fill of attitude in the Marine Corps so I’ll be damned if I’m gonna listen to it from someone that hasn’t earned the right to give it to me.
I like this yard, and The people there are nice. I can't say how good the prices are as it's the only place I have been to so far, but they seem to be competitive enough. I usually go there not with the intent of turning in scrap, but actually buying scrap. This yard allows you to browse through everything they have, and you can buy whatever you want. If you are like my and have an intimate familiarity with ewaste, there can be some amazing deals to be had. They have bins of motherboards, and you are allowed to browse through all of it and buy whatever you want for a few times above scrap value (which if you know what you are looking for, is still very much worth the price).
Drive further to get to this scrap yard. They haven't cheated me or treated me poorly. For a scrap yard this is the best one I have beemln to. Keep up the great work.
