However, it's still a cool environment, though very dirty and dangerous if you're not paying attention. They will take most e-scrap, wires, batteries, metals, and you'll get $$ for it! I believe you can still buy the stuff others have thrown out. Great group of people running the place.
The people here are awesome and always super friendly. They gladly answer any question you have if you're unsure of something or just curious and it always feels like you're getting a fair deal. 10/10 best place to make money and spend money
I have always had a positive experience. I support recycling which is why I go here from time to time. I’ve taken a variety of commercial and residential items which include metal fixtures, old earphones (wiring), clothes iron, etc. If you have a little bit of stuff you can haul it to the scale on a flatbed cart. If you have a car full you can drive onto the scale, get weighed, drop your stuff at the designated location, and get weighed again. You do get paid for the stuff they take. But to me it’s more important that my junk is not going to a landfill. I wish more people recycled this way.
Original review is below this one....I complained about the phone on FB and the a gentleman responded withing less than an hour....He is having Xfinity issues and we all know how easy it is dealing with them ....let's all be patient....OLD REVIEW- Tried calling three days in a row to inquire about scrap prices and there is no way to speak to someone....maybe fix the phones or at least let customers know what's going on.

I read a few of the negative reviews on here about how they offer you a higher price over the phone and then drop price once you get there and have unloaded but I unfortunately went there anyway cause i thought i was getting a good deal. i brought in some stripped wire that haggerty metals downgraded to copper #2 prices when several other scrap yards gave me 'bare and bright' prices from the exact same wire pull. i also noticed that it was about 8 pounds lower than what I had measured before i arrived. another thing that is kind of suspicious is that haggerty metals used to have way more negative reviews and now a company that's been around for almost 30 years has only 83 (at the time of writing) google reviews total?
Good fair prices on copper and aluminum. They don’t mess around and give you attitude like most of the yards in the area. Hugh is a real genuine and helpful person and that is a really hard thing to say for most people in the area. All of the staff are legit too.
PSA.!! I wouldn't go here. They rob you bad scrap steel is $180-$200 a ton and they lie to people who don't know the industry saying its $89 a ton thats a major difference i wouldn't do business with these shady people go to H & H in Inkster Mi they pay correctly and dont try to scam and rob you.
They rip people off there employees are very rude id suggesting u go to Wiser's scarp yard they won't rip u off i know this from my own personal experience. Wiser's clean place very friendly and will not rip u off.Anonymous scrapper
Today was my first experience at haggerty metals. So naturally I had no idea where to go or exactly what I was doing to begin with. I had some scrap copper that I wanted to sell and as soon as I pulled up to the office I seen a friendly face standing there ready to help me unload my vehicle. And then it was so quick that I wasn't sure I was done I conveniently got my ticket from the very kind man that inventoried my copper and it went straight to a kiosk scanned my barcode and boom! There was my money! Had a very good experience here I would recommend it to anyone if you got scrap metal that you want to take off take it to haggardy metal

Gave me "shred" pricing for pure cold rolled steel laser sheet skeleton scraps, why did I even bother keeping it all separated?!?!
They 100% know this while there taking advantage of people. Nothing you do about it after its all dumped on the ground.

when I went there they took my most expensive medals and said oh that's not it and they threw it in the general pile.

I've ben going to haggerty metals for years, can't recommend them enough. Always positive attitude and scale has always been right on. If you're looking for the best prices on scrap this is the place for you.
Got ripped off on the front end. I knew what my stuff weighed before I brought it in and they undercut me on the way. I wasn't really concerned about the money part so I didn't make a big stink about it. I was more interested in recycling the stuff that I had. I also had a rim with a tire on it that was cut. They refused to take the rim with the tire on it. All I needed was a piece of metal to pry the Tire from the rim, because like I said it was already cut. They refused to help me and they refused to let me do it in the yard. I went straight to glr and they were way more friendly and way more helpful. They even helped me pry the tire from the rim so I would get more money for the aluminum. My suggestion is do not waste your time with Haggerty. Go straight to GLR. Way cleaner yard, way more helpful staff. Oh and Haggerty also rips you off on the back end. If the amount they owe you includes change, they simply cut the change off. For example, if they owe you $17.25, they only give you $17. I can't stress enough to stay away from this place.
Haggerty metals is great!! Clean yard, friendly and helpful staff. My first choice when going to a scrap yard. I have not seen a better staff at any other yard.They always go out of their way to help their customers. Highly recommended!!
Great place to go. Been 3x now and i really wouldn't go anywhere else. They ALWAYS have the best pricing on aluminium and their people are so friendly. Best place would rate it more then 5 stars if i could
I recently moved out to Howell and made the mistake of going to a local scrap yard here and got ripped off. Next time time I'll make the drive to Plymouth, Haggerty metals is clean friendly and very fair prices, I miss you guys
Owner seems really nice, but I think he is shady.
Doesn't honor the prices he quotes over the phone. Once I was already unloaded, I wasn't about to leave.
I wouldn't go back, from now on I will take my business to GLR.
This place is like adult Disneyland for me. The people that work there are super nice and helpful, and they allow you to browse their scrap bins. When I have a project i need supplies for, i come here first. The only suggestion i could make is for them to put in a public outside sink so people can wash their hands.
Friendly, helpful, and didn't have to wait long. Bonus.... Saturday morning donut and T-shirt!! Earned more for copper than other scrap yards I've gone to. Glad I've made the change.
Nice people and are helpful to small sellers and buyers like me. I have found great deals here on large gauge wire that are new pieces that are left at the end of a huge roll. I've also found some nice pieces of used steel like U channel and angle iron for my home welding projects at much lower prices than another scrapyard in the vicinity. Sheryl is the best.
They are the best around. There is a huge scrapyard in Detroit, but it is muddy, and always a long line of cars. Haggerty pays good prices -- better than GLE -- who operates about 8 yards. GLE pays 10 cents a pound for circuit boards from computers -- Haggerty a buck a pound. Circuit boards with gold fingers bring $3.00 a pound. Also for aluminum Haggerty is good. Would not go anywhere else.
