I just had the weirdest experience with this young girl at the box office... strangely shitty attitude. I was just trying to drop off a variety of recyclables and she was rudly questioning everything I had. Things I've dropped off many times before. First time having a problem with anyone here. I wound up leaving and will try again on a day she's not there I guess.

I have been coming here for years and this place has never looked as bad as today, everything is full and nothing is being done, nobody works anymore.

I visited the 1st time a few weeks ago, I didn't know what to do, that was until Jaylen helped me figure out everything. The pricing wasn't too bad. I appreciate all of his help.

They will take anything, but the fees are crazy, I paid 160 to dump a trailer of old wood. The other yard on Jackson rd seems to be a bit more affordable.

Inconsistent prices. I never know how much they are going to try to charge me. Single stream and cardboard will be the only reason I use this place anymore.

After a woman ran into the side of the building they stopped taking the plastics and styrofoam that curbside won’t take. When will this be fixed?

Be sure to have the person at the gate doublecheck what they’re charging you for. Especially electronics. If you go in to that barn with something that isn’t approved, the dude in there is going to make you feel like a terrible person. The guy is a real piece of work

These are the nicest, most friendly folks ever. They have a genuinely happy spirit to serve and it shines through, in the way they interact with people, demonstrate helpfulness, go out of their way to make your day just a bit better! I love coming here, even from across the other side of the state!! They take styrofoam, cartons, things other places don’t often take- so I collect it for awhile then bring it over. These folks are great!!!

So awesome to see someone bring excitement to an otherwise mundane job. Disposed of my mini fridge for $31 with a big smile because the gate worker had such a positive mood. Kudos!

This place is a nice idea in theory, but the execution is lacking. A couple things that made my experience recycling here more difficult than it needed to be: 1. Their website is not updated. Their 'contact' and 'FAQ' pages have differing hours of operation for their locations, which makes things very confusing. 2. Their map of the drop-off station doesn't clarify that the gatehouse is where you pay, and there is no sign on the gatehouse when you pull up that says "pay here". 3. Their pricing doesn't include that, no matter what items/materials you bring in, you still pay the entrance fee. So it was more pricey than I thought it would be. Also, they could give examples of what is considered a small, medium or large appliance on their website. 4. The employees are unresponsive and not very helpful. 5. Their roads are dirt and get huge puddles when it rains. It's nice that places like this exist so everything doesn't end up in a landfill, but they should at the very least update their website.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I make multiple trips here throughout the year to recycle styrofoam, worn-out clothes, and old electronics. We are so lucky to have this service nearby to keep all of this out of the landfills.

Love this place. Every employee really seems to know their job and is very knowledgeable and friendly. You can recycle stuff more things here than you would imagine. Ask them for help!

As an aspiring homesteading homeowner, you can haul heaps of trash, recycling, mattresses, shredding, and electronics here. They charge you for the privilege, but they also do a great job.

Recycling should be encouraged, but whenever i go there it works opposite way due to either their attitude or road conditions or fee or etc…

Drove all the way here to be turned around. Pulled in at 5:15pm on Tuesday and was told at the booth that they stop accepting trash drop off at 5pm. Cool. Couldn't get a reason why, but was told it was a rule made by "the manager". Maybe if you close at 5pm, then update your already inconvenient open hours to reflect this.

I love this place! The staff are super kind and helpful. I took in about 75lbs of mixed metal scrap (mostly steel+aluminum), as well as plastic grocery bags and old clothes (unfit for donation). All accepted for the $3 entry fee. Was in and out in less than 10 mins. Great place to responsibly dispose of recyclables! Note that mixed plastics aren't accepted though.

I’ve been coming here for 20+ years and the loyal employees are like family. So friendly and helpful. It’s well organized and there’s help if you need it. The place is kept clean and there’s lots of signage. Easy in, easy out, and the prices aren’t too bad. They take almost anything and you can recycle everything from batteries and metal to textiles, paper and styrofoam!!

Fabulous location to recycle hard styrofoam, boxes, old technology and just about anything you can think of. Call if you have a question about what you want to recycle and it’s best $3.00 Donation there is! Amazing recycling drop-off center!

The facility is well run and organized. The staff has always been friendly and professional. It is very expensive however. I have repeatedly paid between $35 and $50 for less than a pickup bed.

Very rude lady at front gate. Not customer service at all. Was going to charge me 19$ for a few aluminum pieces and some scrap just because I didn’t know the cubic feet of it.

1.They stopped taking plastic recycling 9 months ago! I drove all the way there, paid to get in, only to throw 90% of what I brought in the dumpster. 2. The website guide is useless. 3. If possible just wait for the Detroit Zoos FREE election drop off The only plus is that they take tube lights.

Wow - might be a good recycling center, but definitely didn’t expect to pay $145 to drop off trash I had in the bed of our truck. Would have turned around but driving with that much trash wasn’t very safe and no where else was open on Saturday. Unbelievable and total waste of money - go somewhere else.

I come here once a week (it's very close to my house) and have never had a bad experience. It's a recycling yard so I'm not expecting to be wined and dined. I just pull up, dump my stuff in the designated bins and drive away. Simple.

Personally, I don't care if the place is chaotic and the workers rough around the edges. I don't need to be smiled at. Everyone has their own problems, worries, burdens. And I don't mind paying the $3 for the good it does the planet. I go early before a big line starts, listen to NPR, and get in and out. Once every 6 weeks won't kill me. It's not about me, it's about our beloved environment.

I went there just today. I felt compelled to send this email to management: I have a couple of choices here. I can put my styrofoam into my trash, which I already have paid for, and it will be hauled away. Or I can try to be a environmentally sensitive citizen by driving across town, sitting in line for 30 minutes (engine running), pay 3 dollars ("we only accept credit or debit card") drive into a chaotic situation and be yelled at by the most appalling hostile halfwits I've encountered in years. There was only one employee there that was a reasonable person, it must be hard for him to be working in such a hostile work environment. He should get combat pay. I don't usually complain about customer service, because I recognize that bad employees are usually a result of bad management, but this was my second time there, and it was pretty much like the first, only it was much worse this time. It was so obnoxious I really feel compelled to say something. As a former civil servant, I recognize agencies and departments aren't killed outright, first they have to be ruined so that nobody will miss them when they go away. I have to conclude that you people are hostile to the mission of your organization, otherwise I can't imagine that you would let such conditions continue. I will never be coming back.

I'm glad that the drop-off center has reopened, but right at the top there needs to be a statement of what they are not accepting (styrofoam, plastic bags, oil/filterschedule, electronics, etc.) at this time. It would save filling up the car for a wasted trip. Otherwise the place is great.

Overpriced. I really think that they take advantage of people bringing in small car sized loads. I’ve taken a full sized truck full of debris to the Recovery Yard on Jackson road for not much more than what they attempted to charge me for the backseat + trunk of my small car.

Dropped a whole lot of stuff off in the bins and was charged a fair price today. We also had A LOT of cardboard boxes to fold up and put into the box crusher. One of the employees there, Ian, and another gentleman who was about 6'10" tall, gave my wife and I a hand taking the boxes from our truck to the crusher. Those guys were very helpful, they weren't even asked to help, they just did. Cheers!

The staff here is terrific. I have come here frequently to buy compost and mulch, and also had it delivered to my home. (Occasionally to recycle large items that don't fit in curbside.) The staff, and especially Calvin who often runs the front loader, is always very helpful. I was unfortunate enough to get myself a flat tire on my trailer, and Calvin not only noticed it, but made sure I had the tools I needed to get things going again, and kept checking in to be sure things were good. This was only the latest example of terrific experience I've had with the team here.
